awesome video! a couple things to note however 1. you should never use a torque wrench to run down bolts. this can mess up your torque wrench accuracy. 2. when you are installing flexplate/fly wheel/clutch pressure plate bolts you need to torque all the fasteners to their final torque dry, then once all the bolts are torqued, take one bolt at a time and apply the loctite and re-torque the bolt. putting loctite on the bolts and then putting them in and running them down can cause the loctite to get between the flexplate/flywheel and the crank register, or between the clutch pressure plate and the flywheel which can cause vibration issues with components not being truely flush

My wife got the orange gloves for me for Christmas. I'll ask her where she got them. Yes, it is necessary to disassemble the clutch and clean it. For the T-case to 29 spline could you not just purchase and swap in the 29 spline input shaft/gear. My truck tore up a 29spline coupler and took out the splines on my t-case so I ended up buying new ones thru Northwest Fab in Vancouver island.
Oh I see, didn’t realize the houseing was a little different too. You are gonna love shifting gears with a 12valve. I always get excited when I get to drive me truck, NV4500 swapped in after getrag failure
I used rustoleum satin black under the cab and on the frame and rustoleum professional gloss on the transmission, tcase, adapter plate, and cross member.
The yokes on the transfer case and differential’s NEED to be torqued more then what that 1/4 drive impact can do I’m not sure what the spec is for the transfer case but for the differentials is near 450/500ftb or as much as you possibly I’ve had them come lose with a 1/2 impact and destroy the yoke and pinion!!
@@bigmurph1447 literally the only reason for that clip is to hold the clutch fork to the ball DURING INSTALLATION OF THE TRANSMISSION. After the transmission is installed the pressure from the slave cylinder keeps it all in place. Many many people don't run the clip and have no issues.

Man I hope your not going to toe very heavy with that dink trans mount. I’ve had to build 2 others due to the torque of the Cummins. Good way to do it but I’d have a lot more stout iron under that thing.
We'll see. I may beef it up at some point.
Cross member holes same for nv4500,?
For the T-case to 29 spline could you not just purchase and swap in the 29 spline input shaft/gear. My truck tore up a 29spline coupler and took out the splines on my t-case so I ended up buying new ones thru Northwest Fab in Vancouver island.
You can but you have to have the case machines to be able to fit the bigger shaft. I'll know my limitation until I find a 29 spline one
Oh I see, didn’t realize the houseing was a little different too. You are gonna love shifting gears with a 12valve. I always get excited when I get to drive me truck, NV4500 swapped in after getrag failure
@@nathenthompson4276 yeah i can't wait. I didn't mind the automatic but i know the first time I drive this I'm going to wish I did it years ago
The engine that saved dodge 😅
What paint did you use ?????
I used rustoleum satin black under the cab and on the frame and rustoleum professional gloss on the transmission, tcase, adapter plate, and cross member.
Did I miss him addressing the whole paint marks on the lunch assembly not being lined up?
Please explain. Not sure what you're referring to so i may have missed it too 🤣
Just rewatched and the paint marks are definitely lined up 👍
I saw ya note it in the video but it wasn't touched on.
Haha yeah, I'll put the tcase in gear now that it's in and torque them down a lot more 👍
Good deal!
What adapter plate is it it it the 48re one ????
2nd gen adapter plate
@@decentgarage could you send a link So I know what one I’m lost lol
Did you change rear main seal? Part 1 you erased it from the list.
I did not. I asked two friends who are well versed in 12 valves and both said if it's not leaking don't touch it 🤷♂️
In your about you said you could help find one?
Find one of what?
@@decentgarage a 1st gen 4 door

Rubber band on the folk? There's a clip that goes on there
When everything's is closed you do what you gotta do
@@decentgarage what happens when the rubber band brakes
@@bigmurph1447 literally the only reason for that clip is to hold the clutch fork to the ball DURING INSTALLATION OF THE TRANSMISSION. After the transmission is installed the pressure from the slave cylinder keeps it all in place. Many many people don't run the clip and have no issues.
