When the new eglinton crosstown opens, after 8 to 10 years, there gonna have to maintain the structure and overhead wiring like spadina lol nothing is ever going to be reliable in the future
Are they going to be addressing the insanely long travel times on the 510 as well? I have literally walked up spadina faster than the streetcars travel, AND THEY HAVE DEDICATED LANES
Maintenance work makes sense, but it shouldn’t take 6 months. We have to find a way to be more efficient in our repair work to limit the restriction to maybe1 month, then we could shut down a car lane for any work on streetcar stops. Car lanes don’t move nearly as many people as the tram anyway
While this track maintenance is necessary, there has to be a far better solution than to shut down an entire street car line for 6 months. Buses have less capacity, run in mixed traffic with no signal priority.
@@LuckyAtom-dx5yf torontonians are pretty loud and clear that they want streetcars to stay, despite a century of politicians fighting tooth and nail to have them removed. only suburbanites who never touched transit think buses are a better option.
Streetcars are better for the environment, have lower operating costs, and are a much nicer ride that buses. We could make them faster if we wanted to, but to do that we would need to change stop spacing and add dual point switched to intersections, something we could do but would have to coincide with track work
I like streetcars , I like the Diversity in the TTC , but they do nothing to make streetcar service efficient. It's always slow and congested. College literally is the only one that is good

There aren't any reason why street cars are still being use, the path for streets car can be use for buses or electric buses
