At 5:54 you’re in La Mata, that’s La Mata beach. Know it very well. The blue lake is just on the other side. Some lovely riding around there. The ladies Vuelta will take in the Rebate road also. Not far from where you rode. Nice video! Thanks for sharing.
I was exactly the same regarding converting it back in my head and yes I too don’t bother now, unless someone’s confusing me whilst riding mentioning miles and feet haha. Thanks for watching ✌️✌️
Hey Michiel, indeed, have a look at this episode featuring Puerto Frio and port d’Albatera, both great climbs!! ruclips.net/video/2Nx_8omY8V4/видео.html enjoy!!
Mate, I was sceptical about a gravel bike too but I have literally just finished converting an old flat bar hybrid in to a drop bar gravel and having taken it out on the trails for the first time last weekend, I'm a complete convert! Had to go in to Central London for meetings yesterday as well and even chose the gravel bike with its 43mm, chunky tyres over my super lightweight carbon fibre bike! As for imperial or metric, it depends. Imperial for longer distances, metric for shorter measurements but then I'm the child of a tradesman's rowing up in the 80s, so I've grown up using both interchangeably! 😂
It isn’t the riding I’m opposed to it’s the thought (in winter) of having to clean both my road bike and gravel bike when I know I’m not going to care as much about the gravel and then I’ll resent having to clean it hahaha. I think in the summer I’ll give it a go, I feel like everyone is jumping on it a bit though so it makes me want to rebel you know?! Imperial v metric will rumble on for a while I’m sure haha, in the car it’s miles for me but on the bike km always. Mainly because most I ride with are on km’s so we’re all on the same page. Thanks for watching 👊✌️
Hi can you tell me location of the beach we’re you stopped before coffee as watching on a very cold British morning this video made it very interesting
Hi Neil, first beach is la mata, then a little bit further along you have Torrevieja (where we had the coffee) it’s incredibly hard to go from that back to this weather we’ve been having here I can tell you that for nothing. Hope you enjoyed the video ✌️✌️
Enjoy watching ur videos Ben, thanks for making and posting them, having watched ur videos around Torrevieja if you have been to Mallorca how would you compare in terms of routes etc. I was in Mallorca in March for the 1st time and loved it. Best wishes 😎🚴♂️👍
Hi Terry, thank you! As of yet I’ve not cycled in Mallorca (plan to next year) I’ve heard it’s lovely to ride their though. Torrevieja and Alicante was lovely riding though, some lovely roads and routes! 👍👍
Hi Chris, it’s a great location actually, not touristy, cheap and loads of routes out from there. It was actually a family friends place but unfortunately they don’t rent it out. I’m sure there are a few places you can stay there though! Thanks a lot for watching Chris ✌️✌️
He Luiz thank you mate, it was great, I felt very safe actually. If you compare to the UK it’s heaven honestly, in the UK there isn’t a day you go out without getting close passed by a car or aggressive driving in some way shape or form. You have to be constantly aware and on the lookout for aggression. Cheers mate 🤘🤘
Gotta love the cycle paths. Only civilized countries do that well. Enough of this sun, back to your green island. I measure distances in decicakes per km. cheers mate!
@@ryanthompson8029 For me personally road biking is better but plenty of gravel routes there too!! If you buy gravel at least you can still ride on the road also! The thing is with Spain is that the drivers are all fairly accepting of cyclists and the roads are pretty good. Personal choice really!! Good luck though ✌️✌️

Ahhh thank you!!! Such nice riding there. Thanks for watching Mike 👍
All the best, thanks.
Some lovely cycling, I live in the Murcia region and the roads are great. KP/H for me.
Ahh we loved it there, although we managed to hit a few gravel paths haha. Great cycling though. KPH for the win!! Thanks for watching Julian 🤘✌️
Kmph for Strava, Mph for the missus
Great vids 👍
Hahaha good shout! Thanks David ✌️👍
Metric here in Lanzarote, I used to convert back to miles in my head but I don't bother now. Looks fab riding there, nice vid👍😎

In may I'm going to Pilar de la Horadada. It's close to Torrevieja. Do you have some places where I should be going with the roadbike?

Kph and metres for me too, but I do live in Canada and it’s all metric here
Yes!! kph for the win 🥇
Looks like a place worth visiting, would you mind giving the details of the accomodation please? Keep up the vlogging!

Dancing queen 💃🏻
Love it hahaha
Ft and mph always 😊
Strange isn’t it, everything else I base on miles other than on the bike. Maybe it’s because it looks like i’ve gone further in kph haha
Hey, nice videos. How’s cycling around Alicante overall? Do you feel safe with the cars?
I hear both opinions, but what’s your thoughts?

MPH and MIles for me. Feel like I'm cheating using KPH 😂
Im definitely losing this one I think haha
@@therookiecyclist 🤣🤣🤣
Miles and feet 😊
Not another one?!
Only measure in Radlers 🍋
We love the Radlers 🍋 🍻
Gotta love the cycle paths. Only civilized countries do that well. Enough of this sun, back to your green island. I measure distances in decicakes per km. cheers mate!
Very very true Frank, kilometres of just smooth well devised cycle paths. I think decicakes is a great way of measuring hahaha. Cheers Frank ✌️✌️
mph and feet always.
This is coming in pretty even here!!
Metric all the way…
KPH and metres for the win 👌👍
Hi did your friends you were riding with have gravel bikes?
Hi Ryan, nope, we all had road bikes. Wasn’t much gravel at all just a few bits here and there!! 🤘
@@therookiecyclist thanks for reply, if you were just getting in to cycling and lived in spain would do you think a road bike would be best or gravel?
