Reminds me of being a kid in the 80s in the local working men's club. Metal ash trays, smokey rooms, pool tables, lively banter, stale lager smell, and this on the jukebox. Bloody brilliant 👏 long live the Quo.
Brings back some happy memories watching this on TOTP just before Christmas in 1983 with my Dad aged 14 while drinking a shot of whisky, the first time I'd drunk spirits. 40 years on, I still love this song and whisky.
They were good until they went commercial with In the army now, Burning bridges and all that lot, good songs, but awful compared to their eary stuff. Early Quo is 100 times better than late 80s-present Quo.
i listen to this song tonight in honour of my auntie Margaret who passed away a year today, very weird how the video was recorded on the same date 41 years earlier. rest in peace auntie Margaret love and miss you
I love this song because it was one of my grans favourites, who has passed but when she passed i was given her records and this song was the first one i listened to and now everytime i hear it i feel so happy and sad at the same time because i feel like shes with me for at least while again
Just saw the date this was recorded, , 3rd December 1983, the date including the year myself and my late wife were married, this will always give me special memories.
It reminds me of the very same, but it was only in 2016 when sadly Rick passed that I actually got big into status quo and that was the year that I got a guitar so the two combined I was hooked.
Very sad to learn that Rick has died. He was a truly likeable personality and lived life to the full. Without Rick Parfitt there can be no 'Status Quo'. Love & thoughts to his family!

The first song that got me into Status Quo back in 1983 and a fine example of a country-rock ballad penned by Francis Rossi and the late Bernard Frost. Great uplifting tune with a very catchy chorus.
Yeah I like it very much, too.Though my favourite was always..."Lonely man"...my absolute childhood anthem!!! Heard it again recently after 30 plus years...and immediately tears rolled...what a great song that still is...and forever will be !!!
colemann76 Yes Favourite, because everyone is different!, I can’t understand how people find that concept so hard to grasp? - it was a massive hit as well (no 3) bigger than many of their other earlier records!, It’s not one of my Quo favourites, but it’s a great little catchy song! Are you another one of the those Quo fans that never left the 1970’s behind?
Status Quo is so far above the herd within their respective circles that it isn't funny. They rock with the best of them. But there was always present in their work those crucial elements of soaring vocal harmonies and relentless optimism, which has kept them in the upper echelons of it all for well more than a half century. Their motion picture, Bula Quo (which REALLY needs to be released in the NTSC format!!!!) was nothing short of answered prayer. Arguably one of the best rock and roll films of all time. God bless 'em.
RIP Rick. Just enjoying some classic Status Quo music with the family, everyone united in loving these classic songs. Loved this when I was at school, love it now! Happy Christmas and best wishes to the band and the Parfitt family.
II really miss these guys, they had some brilliant songs and this was one of them. Ol' Rag Blues and Drifting Away were my other favourites. Soundtrack of my youth down at the local pub with my mates with our motorbikes all lined up outside. Those were the days.
I always liked this song, even thought i wasnt the biggest fan. This always had a certain sadness to it and melancholy that i like. Their song Rain from the 70s was good too
Quo was Rick and Francis. Love watching them performing together. Will never be the same again.
How true Miss Rick so very much.
Alan wrote great songs, fantastic player… John: great drummer. FF.

They were best friends!
Shocking and they were not best friends

sad to hear that Rick is gone. Status Quo provided the soundtrack to a large part of my childhood & I wanted them to be my wedding band

Captured my heart
Captured my memory
Captured a time for me
I could see
Time for me is gonna be
Deep in my heart
Deep in my memory
Deep in a part of me
Heart of me
Meant to be history
Could it be that I'm still wondering?
I never knew what had happened to me
I didn't think it was true
That I could be just like anyone else
I'll take my chance with you
Picture a dream
Picture a fantasy
Picture the mood of me
Mystery
You and me a mystery
Lost in a dream
Lost in a fantasy
Lost in what seemed to be
Dreams to me
Seemed to be, had to be
Couldn't find no other reason
I never knew what had happened to me
I didn't think it was true
That I could be just like anyone else
I'll take my chance with you
Let's have a drink
It's Marguerita time
It's Marguerita time after nine
Summertime, anytime
You'll still always find me wondering
I never knew what had happened to me
I didn't think it was true
That I could be just like anyone else
I'll take my chance with you.
Thank you for the words
such a sad day rest in peace Rick 😇
