Compared to other Castlevania games, I feel like SotN has more potential/mechanics to be used for tournaments, e.g. finding vlads helps keep the tension up as we feel more hype with every vlad collected.

You mean the Sword Card location? It's still a check, but it's walled off so that you need the Mirror to check it.

an old phone cord looks like a grapevine... all twisted up. Super Metroid is good until you gotta learn how to wall jump..... I had a Sega Genesis as a kid...

To be fair, the situation where Super Metroid *forces* you to walljump is very rare and it's typically avoidable. Plus, if you prefer to use infinite bomb jumps, that's a viable alternative, like, 9/10 times.
