Everytime i see Halestorm i think....good for you Hale siblings. They worked so hard for so long, did it right, and are still out there rockin'. As an eastern PA lifer, its great to see some hometown kids make it.....especially the way they did it. I couldnt be prouder of them.
I've seen them a few times. They're awesome but not the greatest of all time. If you think that you haven't seen some of the really classic bands. Judas Priest, Heart, Scorpions and so on.
Anecdotal tidbit, the drummer is Lzzy's brother. In 2012, Halestorm was on the Carnival of Madness tour with Chevelle and Evanescence. We saw the show at the Showboat in A/C. They did 2 nights in a row at the Showboat because the Harrah's Chester show was cancelled. Anyhow, the next day after the 1st show, we were at the Revel Casino and ran into Arejay at Armada restaurant while waiting for a table. He was so excited because someone recognized him and he was grateful and thankful and we small talked for literally 30 seconds about the 2nd night show changing venue, etc. His girlfriend was a total unt. She didn't say a damn thing and walked away and left him there. We were like "are you ok, is she ok?" and he said, "yea, she just gets like that". We offered to have him sit with us but he said "no" that he had to go and take care of her "issues". Anyhow, Arejay, if you're reading this, you probably remember us and glad you kicked her to the curb. You definitely deserved better and cheers to your new wife/life!
Everyone commenting about her voice and not sounding as good…y’all need to remember she’s human rock shows weren’t a thing for almost two years. She took time off from her voice so it’s going to be a little raspy starting back up. She just needs to warm her voice back up and get used to doing shows again. She’s been in this band longer than I think she hasn’t been in this band and I’m sure knows her voice better than anyone else does.
It could be her in ear monitors not working correctly as well. If you can't hear yourself it's difficult to hit notes. She's playing guitar so can't fiddle with them but I've seen singers fiddling with them during sets and sounding poor because they cannot hear themselves over the instruments. Another concert performed this week she may have sounded great.

I was at the show- her vocals did get a bit rough at the end (like in this video). She sounded absolutely phenomenal at the beginning, it was almost perfect. I think she strained a bit too much. Wonderful show though 💙
unbelievable how my rock station plays pretty reckless over and over again until i get sick of hearing it, yet they play NO halestorm songs anymore. makes zero sense since halestorm is way better

Been a long long long time fan of them. I've always been concerned about her losing her wonderful voice from her screams and this is starting to show. I'm sad and hope that she just sings rather than scream to preserve it.
Damn she's gonna blow out her vocal chords. Her cleans are rough and the screams are even more rough, hope she can find a more comfortable spot in her range.
If possible, I don't understand why more people don't just say F the rasp for live performances for the most part. If you can just sing the whole song clean, yeah it might not sound as aggressive per-se, but less aggressive and in-tune is WAY better than aggressive and struggling with pitch in my opinion. That kid from Greta Van Fleet is really good at this. He often sings way more clean in live shows but he's in-key too, and it sounds great.
@@Carlos18731 I understand that, I’M saying it should be sung cleanly instead. If she did that 95% of the time across all her songs rather than 50% or whatever, I think the net difference would be overall a very positive one. As it would be with most rock/metal singers.

LZZY sounds bad-ass here - if you're not pushing your voice to the edge and beyond, then it's not rock 'n' roll. But if you prefer non-rock vocalists, there's always Celine Dion.

This same exact thing happened when Geddy Lee kept trying to hit falsetto in the last years of Rush, and he sounded terrible. As for what I listen to, everything from Slipknot to Danny Elfman. You can sit the fuck down with your assumptions now.

I mean, her screaming is so epic and powerful in the original track, but idk WHAT this is supposed to be. I guess there's just some bands that just can't do live that well. I'm so sad. I've seen Halestorm live 5 times. Normally they're amazing. but yeah this one isn't quite right compared to every other live video i've seen of her. I don't know if it's the sound mixing or she's out of practice but it's just not jiving the way it's supposed to. they normally sound much better than this.
