Hey, first of all thanks for the kind words. Suggestions from me: equipment doesn't matter that much, but the thing you're recording makes a difference. You can trust on your iPhone for sure. Don't hesitate just capture anything you think is funny, beautiful and interesting. Record as much as you can! As for the editing, the more you practice and think, the faster the skills you'll improve. Sometimes editing pushes you to focus more or have more inspirations on the pre-production/shooting. Hope this will help you.
As a westerner , Japan was worth to go only during the time of the city pop, in the 1980s. Japan of nowadays sucks. People there became too lazy to learn English, became culturally arrogant and doesn't( want to approach foreigners. i really miss when there was a strong American influence in Japan already.
I love Tokyo so much. I'd miss this city way too much if I left it.
