Led Zeppelin. Amazing performance... an immaculate fusion of gospel, delta blues and hard rock. Page, Plant, Jones and Bonham taking us for a musical ride, never to be duplicated.
Thank you brother. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Continue down this rabbit hole .pick a song any song . You will never be disappointed because there are no bad Led Zeppelin songs, only timeless masterpieces.
“So I gave her the gun and shot her!” That’s a nod to Jimi Hendrix’s Hey Joe.
Yeah. A song written for the music .because if it was music written for song...i dunno. 😂
Lets review that song for a second and see what kinda depth it contains.
Friend: Hey Joe, where you going with that gun?
Joe: Im going down to shoot my ol' lady. Ya know I caught her messin around with another man. (Which aint too cool)
Friend: Hey Joe, I heard you shot yout ol' woman down.
Joe: Yes I did. I shot her. You know, I caught her messin around with another man.
Friend: Well Hey Joe, where you gonna run to now?
Joe: Im goin way down south. Way downnto mexico.
Ok, I'll throw in my 2 cents worth 1st. Obviously a deep song. 😂 guy catches his girl messin around, shoots her, leaves the country. How much detail does one need, right? I mean, every line is repeated twice to make sure theres no misunderstanding.
If it wasnt for the music, it would have been a travesty for song writers worldwide.
But heres the beauty of that song. Its sheer simplicity. I think I heard that song once and got it 1st time.
In contrast to "Stairway to heaven". Hmmm🤔 I've heard that song enough to play it. The solo, and backing guitars. Im guessing in the thousands of times I've heard it.
Can anyone, please...tell me what the f*** theyre singing about? Some lady is buying s stairway to heaven...check, got it. 😳 Some other details included that sounded like witnesses from Timothy Learys School of effective communication speaking filing me in.
So while Jimi writes a kick ass songs music, he followed it up with a story that need be heard only once to understand. Even repeated every line to make sure of it, the mighty Zep belts out a tune that requires a Ouija board to decode it. And worse, they tell you that if you listen very hard, the tune will come to you at last. I wonder if they could have been a little more specific as to when. "at last" is?
Just saying.. 😂
This is, if you can actually say what is their best, you can say this is one of their best! 😎👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 This is why they are the GOATS!!!! Now that’s what you call the Blues on acid!
The smile after it finishes says it all ... how great is it eh??? Led Zep crosses all boundaries... it is a true celebration of the living.... happy exploring mate.
Great reaction from the greatest band ever. 🙏 thank you.
First reactor I've seen to make the connection between the blues, rock, and gospel in this song. Spot on. Well done.
At 11:30 is Robert Plant singing his from his soul after 5 3 hr shows ( this one being almost 4) in a week.
With no opening act this band played on its own terms.
Robert proves here, even not in his best voice, what a bluesy soulful singer he is and a true rock star that they don’t make anymore.
The end of this brings up the next blues song you should react to. “You Shook Me”. Another great song.
This is a reworking of the blues song by the same name recorded by Blind Willie Johnson. Zeppelin took it and turned it into a killer groove. I agree with what someone else posted; Zeppelin's song "You Shook Me" was mentioned at the end (you know you shook me, babe) so you should do that one next.
Sheik for President 2024. Run, Sheik, run.
Led Zeppelin IS the Blues!
In an era of excess, Plant was very conservative in his on-stage movements. Always held the mic in his left hand, right hand tilted outward. Open shirt, flat stomach, tight bell-bottoms, platform shoes. Perfect for the times.
"Whole Lotta Love" Live at MSG. The Theremin "Solo" is a must. HUGE but KILLER rabbit hole here.... And you're right, there's a lot of Blue's mixed in. They were heavily inspired by Blues music and took a lot from it and made it their own and with a Rock infusion. When you said Robert was feeling it(lead singer), he was...In their Live performances they just go with the flow..... A lot of crazy adlibbing both lyrically and instrumentally. Definitely the GOATS!!! Great reaction...
There would be no Zeppelin without the blues. Hell there would be no rock but blues is the heart of all Led Zeppelin. They’re the best rock band ever. In my opinion. 😊
Doesn't get any better 🎶🎵
Thank you for going through the motions to seek out this particular clip, Sheik Kargbo. Impressive. Thanks also for reacting to a song I've been listening to for almost fifty years. There's still hope for you, after all. Greetings and well-wishes from Belgium, amigo.
Glad you dig these guys.😎
Rock on!
Nice reaction....just subscribed! GOAT band!
That was.... great !
Blues/Rock mixed into a greasy, filthy brew by Led Zeppelin. Great reaction. You got it.
I know you loved this one!!
In the late 50s and early 60s in Britain, most of the young musicians were seriously into old blues. They didnt spend their hard earned allowance on rock albums. They bought Howlin Wolf and the likes.
Thats why they put their heart and soul into songs like this. Taking the old blues and making rock out of it. After all, rock is basically rooted from blues and 1, 4, 5 progressions. These guys know more about Memphis than the average American does.
Yes Sheik, they were most definitely "wilding out" in a not so simple composition. You hit it on the head.
That bit with the hand, is Jimmy blessing the crowd. You can do stuff like that, when you are a rock god.
The line, "I gave her the gun, and I shot her!" was from Jimi Hendrix version of "Hey Joe".
Try Dazed and Confused by them. It's got a blues sound to it. Then work your way through the entire catalog! They are all fantastic!
The Danelectro is the finest guitar given to man.
Britains finest
That combo is called ......... Hard Rock. Blues and Hard Rock collided. Heavy Metal came after this epic era.
Sizzling guitar!
"Jesus Make My Dying Bed" by Blind Willie Johnson was the inspiration for this.
Love me some Blind WJ and I love the chick who sang with him too
The other version from Earl’s Court is much better, but the studio version blows both of them out of the water.
top notch my friend
Thank you 🤙
Custard pie, zeppelin
Oh my cheese it’s.....Oh my cheeze it’s......
Robert Plant 😍😍😍😍
Can you please react to Bluezone song called Jackie
Bro can you check EZ MIL - IDK.
Man, I must have been busy with the ladies back in the day cause everybody is "my boy" or "my girl" on you tube. Just messing with you cause everyone says it. Good reaction though.
The problem with Led Zepplin and first time reactors is that everything after is tainted when you have already heard the best.
What should we do? Have them start at South Bound Suarez and Poor Tom and work backwards?
