I am in Grade 12, and recently received news that I'll be shifting to the United States this June! I was excited and a but shocked at the same time, because I have been preparing for the IIT JEE exam since Grade 10. So, I'm planning to apply for Spring Intake as of now, and for Fall 2023 as well. One of the things I'm most grateful about is that I have been doing community service activities since Grade 9, without even thinking about penning it down on Common App as an activity. The main reason I did those are for the joy of it and my passion for teaching. In Grade 9, I tutored about 60 students from my hometown in Maths, English and general life skills. In Grade 11, after COVID came and I heard the news that many students at my hometown were unable to attend online classes due to lack of a proper electronic device, I flew to my hometown and raised a fundraiser. I received help from the Indian National Congress and also a local NGO and ultimately raised over ₹3,00,000. This was more than sufficient to provide around 75 students from a government school with a tablet. For these two endeavours of mine, I received certificates of recognition and an award from the Congress which was a moment of great joy for me. I have been quite strong in Academics, to say the least, consistently scoring over 95% overall each year since Grade 6. I was the topper of my school (Delhi Public School, Hyderabad) in Grade 10 with overall 98% and in term 1 of 12th I've already scored 97%. In Grade 9, I got All India Rank 231 in the Inter-DPS Science and Math Talent Exam and in its final round, got All India Rank 74. I was later selected for a National-level Olympiad training camp at IIT Roorkee, which was a real eye-opener for me. I was also selected to be a part of a team of 4 (out of over 1,200 others) for a semi-research program at IIT Delhi last year. I shadowed a professor there who was working on Aerodynamic efficiency as I overall find cars and engineering very interesting. My main passion, I believe is my love for Formula 1. Being Vice Head Boy of my school and a prominent member of the Science and Innovation club, I used to make Aerodynamic models on my laptop and present them to the entire club. 2 months ago, I also founded a startup called Formula 1 Analytics along with 4 of my friends, where we essentially make graphs and present them using the data we procure. Even though the activities for my love of Formula 1 may seem insignificant, I have great value for them, because they are activities which are truly close to my heart. I hope I can turn this startup of mine to a really good passion project. We're launching our website next week btw! Other than that, I'm interested in coding as well and already have 2 internships to my name, one for a data analytics company and another where I designed the website for a local restaurant chain. I am going to launch a doubt forum for our school as soon as my Boards are done, and have also agreed to teach students of Grades 10th and 11th around 2hrs each day. Apart from these, I have completed Grade 6 out of 8 in Acoustic Guitar from Trinity College, London and also play Chess at the District level. I came 1st for 4 continuous years in a row until last year when I had to unfortunately drop the competition to focus on my studies.
As of now, I hope I can get into a top State University like UMich, UIUC, UCs etc. but my aim is to get into a good IVY League or a good Private uni like Duke, Rice, Northwestern, NYC, USC, CMU etc.

Before I even start, I would like to tell how obsessed I am with your channel - it was a huge open-eye moment for me when I found you. You saved my time and resources, and I’m so grateful for your effort in making these videos.
I am planning to apply for undergrad Finances/Business including in Ivies, but I am not sure of any possible passion projects for this field. I remember helping my dad in creating a theme and designing logo for our new bakery shop back in 8th grade, and then helping him in Social marketing in 10th. I also did accounting in my grandparents’ household since this house is shared with our roommates who were in social and economic needs. Please help me with any ideas on passion projects!

Thank you for the kind words! I would definitely say continue working on the bakery shop, maybe take it to much more technical level by including numbers. If you worked towards marketing for the shop by creating logos, websites, etc how much traffic or sales you were able to bring in! things like this can make your profile stand out!

That's the point, passion project is not about doing it for the sake of admissions, but you can still use it in your essays, extracurricular, etc

I'm currently in 10th grade and going to give my board exams from 26 April. I'm Second Runner-up in National Cultural Competition in Percussion category and 2 times State champion in same category from U.P. I'm also Runner up in Nationals in Debate senior category in Fav. in English and in Against in Sanskrit. I'm finalist of 3000m longwalk in State Atheletics Competition for competing in Nationals from state of UP. Till now my lowest percentage is 92% . I'm 5th year student in Diploma of Percussion - Tabla from prestigious institute of Prayag Sangit Samiti. And I know that my profile is pretty good. My dream university is Harvard. And I want to apply for it but I didn't have any school counselor or any counselor for applying abroad in my city of Prayagraj. The process to apply for colleges in common app is very complicated and I don't know how to present everything clearly. I scored 1580 in SAT but I haven't started writing my essay. I want to apply for Harvard University for spring semester but I don't know ehich semester is best to apply Spring or Fall.

First focus on IIT/ undergraduate, you have a lot of time to work on before applying for a masters!

as an undegrad, you will have to take several courses and then probably decide on a major in a year. You don't have to worry about courses right now
