Have a security clearance thanks to the army, and plan on getting some certs before going back to school next year for my bachelors. And hoping to land an IT at my current job.
Such an informative video especially for someone who doesn’t have a degree!

Thanks moxeev! That security clearance is definitely a huge plus, with certs on that, you can definitely land awesome cybersecurity roles. All the best!

Lol I believe they were on a hiring spree at some point. It’s definitely a candidate’s market across the industry. I also see a lot of cyber creators do this type of video with salary/wage progression as well, you do not have to share a specific number maybe a range. It puts things into perspective for a lot of folks looking to get in the field and shows how great the upward mobility is with how quick you can move up. Congrats again! E

I just accepted a SOC Analyst II job as my first cybersecurity position with a MSSP. Do you think that’s a good starting point? How hard is it to catch on?

Congrats! It’s a great place to start. Things might not look easy at first but over time it starts making sense if you put in the work in terms of trying to understand.

@@DayCyberwox thanks for the reply. I’m fixing to start my second term at WGU. Is there a good place to learn about all the SIEMs they have? Guess I’ll start out with a lot of googling.

@@TK-le8wd You can use range force, take the Splunk core user (I have a video o that), use investigations on cyberdefenders.org, do Splunk rooms on tryhackme. Several ways

No. I actually started the WGU program July 1st this year. At the time of my internship, I had just completed freshman year of my associates degree program
