Yes you are right, govinda is a trained dancer, he actually wanted to become a choreographer in Bollywood in 1986 but when the producer saw his dance and his expressions he gave him the 2nd lead role in his movies, if you ever watch govinda early career movies from his debut to 1990 in majority of movies his dance style was Michael Jackson style or other dance style, but after that he became famous for his simple but unique dance moves and unbelievable facial expressions, after that everyone loved that govinda style dance, also after 1990 he did some comedy movies after which people always wanted to see his comedy movies bcz he is such a great artist his comic timing, dialogue everything puts smile on audience face, so his action movies didn't did well , this was a reason for downfall of his career that people can't accept his other movies.
He's had no classsical training. He has learnt contemporary dance during his time of struggle to become an actor. But he has art in his blood as his mother is a classical singer and a also spiritually enlightened woman. This reflects in how Govinda behaves as he was very close to his mother being her youngest son. He attributes all his success to her even today.
