- The Lake club in springfield Illinois, a very popular nightclub, diner and music venue back in the 1940's and 50's, the club hosted many stars like Bob Hope, Ella Fitzgerald, Mickey Rooney, and many more. The club was a getaway for the Gambino crime family in Chicago, the club would allow the mob to use rooms in the club to run an illegal gambling ring. Bartenders and waitresses made a small fortune during this time (largely due to the mafia tipping huge amounts of cash), however the club would eventually be raided, leading to the demise of one of the most popular bartenders at the club... For this episode I was able to interview a former employee of the club, Tom Casper who worked there for a couple years in the mid 1970's, he goes over everything from the mafia involvement, to how the haunting of the club started, and the negative effects it had on him and his co-workers. Although this episode will mainly focus on Tom, I do feature other employee's interviews throughout the episode from an interview done in 2005. For the first time ever I'm using AI technology to narrate this episode, I found that it delivers perfect dialogue and tone based on preferences that I chose. Finally I hope you all enjoy this one, and I want to say thank you again to Tom Casper for being kind enough to take the time to tell his story and experiences on camera. I can't express how much of a gift it is to be hearing these stories from the Lake Club of experiences you had yourself! Sort of stumbled across your channel and now I'm binging. You do excellent work, with real people when they're available who make it SO interesting because they were there. I love the on site filming, the history and before and after comparisons. I burnt out on ghost videos long ago as they got so cheesy imo. But these are so "real" and factual, and the interviewees 100% plausible. You picked a good AI narration, but I did like hearing the real you. Maybe that's a "mom thing"...? 😊 P.S. I love the Michael the Archangel prayer and wrote it down. Got a bit of a strange vibe feeling writing the 2nd sentence. Did I bother someone? Something? 🤔 😮

In despite of "ghost topics", I like to visit "places" via google maps/earth (as the end of this documentary "before/after" 2016), lots of (dark) history to me. I am from japan so I learn in same time and... it's very interesting.
I spent many late and blurry evenings there. At 1a.m. when the town's bars called "last call" everyone that still had money made a beeline to The Lake Club. A big parking area - good luck finding a spot! The haunting was well-known but it was too crowded to know if you'd experienced anything. Mid 70s into the 80s, everyone was stoned and might have seen anything.😂💃💃💃💃

I don't agree with the title though, I don't think there really was anything truly evil about Rudy, a lost frustrated soul I think.
Also a quick theory
The priest/St Michael did too good of a job. It's not unheard of that some more nefarious types ask for the devil's help to make a club, (or an album, brand, a movie, a drug) successful. IF a deal had been made it was probably broken that day. That would explain the sudden business failure.
