The Diesel Particulate Filter was stopped up and shut down progress. The DPF was so clogged that the tractor shut completely down after sounding like the rods were going to fly out of the motor. With newer model tractors these days, the EPA mandated that tractors either run DEF fluid or use a Diesel Particulate Filter.
Hope this video helps save you a few pennies on your homestead and gives you a little knowledge on this newer equipment. Honestly thought my tractor was tore up before doing a little digging.
There are products that are made to help clean the DPF but you do need to do your own research and decide on what's best for your situation.
    Thanks for watching.

That will work. On those smaller machines that have infrequent and short use... DPF's are problematic.

Nice job of fixing that problem yourself and thanks for sharing. I don't look forward to mine clogging up but maybe I'll do it myself after watching your video. Thanks again

I bet you wish you could of taken the LOADER & hood off befor this "fiasco " started. Such a GREAT VIDIO, saving yourself 1000s. The WHOLE procedures would not of been possible without your Trusty"Special-Tool". My Dad always said "if you are not using a Hammer;/ you are Not fixing it, you're just REPLACING PARTS. I am also a "firm believer ", where as, you should "Never-Force-it";= "You just Need a Bigger Hammer. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.

    Nice job!!!

If you have a hydro trans, keep your rpms over 2000 when working and your DPF won't clog and you won't regen very often.

    Thank man.

Motor power makes a dpf flush cleaner. They have a RUclips video about it. It looks like it does a great job.

How many hours did you have on the clock before the first DPF cleaning? Good work. I appreciate your - it's not rocket surgery - attitude toward it. So many folks are scared of tasks they haven't done before.

  • @ricksanchez7459

Gas should dissolve that. Trick I used on pistons was soaking in gas overnight to dissolve the carbon off.

The clogging is from unburned diesel coating your dpf. I would consider the fuel injection pressure and / or the turbo spooling up. I didn't hear yours. My thoughts are that your engine is causing your dpf to clog. Is the turbo spooling up? Is your fuel pump pressure high enough to get a clean burn. I own a TYM T474, no turbo, 204 hours, never regens. My point is that the engine exhaust is so poor that it's clogging your dpf. If you let water pass the separator, the injector nozzles will warp/crack. I am not a tractor mechanic, but I served as a Snipe abroad more than a few ships for fourteen years.

I took mine off my brands and tractor and just put a straight pipe

How many hours on tractor? A pressure washer and battery ratchet would speed up the process, but a 12ga would eliminate the process.......

Just bought a brand new LX 4020 to move snow in mountain resort. dealership put howes diesel treatment in it and sold me a bottle to treat diesel because the temp is around 0 degrees F at 10000 feet elevation. I have 17.2 hours on the tractor and the thing won’t start. tried for 3 days finally put 911 in fuel filter and added a little to the tank as per specs. still won’t start. had to tow it through 4 feet of snow 150 yards as the kubota dealership in my area wanted to charge me 8 hours of labor just to drive out to and from my location because i didn’t buy it from them. took it to a kubota dealership in a different state but only 1.5 hours from me. They told me the DPF is completely clogged due to the fuel. SOOO no warranty and no insurance coverage. $12000.00 to fix. the tractor was only $39000.00 WTF! Kubota service and insurance and Sales all suck. They blame it on the other dealerships, no one is taking responsibility for taking care of tractor. Read your manual and warranty and insurance form. If it is fuel related. NO COVERAGE. DONT BUY Kubota! LIARS and Fraudsters. Does anyone have any insight or help here ? Just lost over $20000 on contracts for snow removal. and looks like i wont be getting this tractor back for at least 3 to 4 weeks, even if i pay the extortion money to fix it. and then im sure it will just gel up again and and wont start and will have to go through this all again in another 17 hours. only about 15 total gallons of fuel have gone through this engine 8 of which was put in by the dealer and i only put 12 oz. of howes in the 10 gallons of ulsd i bout from costco. tier one diesel.

  • @Fatazzz

    Can you drill it out???

  • @vineranch8103

I see when you started the tractor without the filter it work well. Can you remove the DPF

  • @dannyboy6332

Why didn’t you take all that shit out of the regen, put it back together as a muffler and plug your def line, then you would never have to do this again.
