In this episode of the Conquer Food podcast, I chat to long-serving TEAM Bootcamper and the UK's only teacher with coprolalia Tourettes syndrome (The swearing one) Natalie Davidson & her wife Leigh-Anne.
Natalie was attacked and raped at age 21 which triggered small ticks and Tourette words. She was subsequently diagnosed with Tourettes 3 years after qualifying as a teacher. In addition to her great story, she shares her success tips to losing 8 stone.
Natalie has been beaten up, arrested and thrown out of restaurants because of her ticks. The whole episode is a great lesson on how we can choose to react to events in your life.

What a great couple, They have both done so well whilst at Team. I will not deny I never know what to expect or how things will go. But how can you not love these two.

I have a problem,...no problem, i make my problem to a problem for others. I think this is selfish. In this case even absolutely inappropriate to force your problem upon children. Why MUST you do exactly this job? I mean, for example, if someone with shaking hands syndrome, would try to become a brain surgeon. Would that be cool? People must understand, that sometimes one must live with some restrictions, and one cant do whatever they like or wish.
1) the thing with the surgeon doesn't make sense, that person would risk damage or lives, she doesn't 2) forcing her problem on kids?? Eh, no? Disabilities exist and kids have to learn that it's possible to have a disability and still be super able, like this person, in what way is she a bad influence according to you?
I agree she would be struck off teaching and put on the register list if she was a male teacher . You cant be saying sexual nature words suchs as dildo , up ya arse , foxxx. You supposed to be a role model . If it effects my children in a negative manner then i wouldnt want them to be taught by this teacher. She cant be using the word Bullying alot if she gets challenged on her ways . She clearly has a learning disability that causes her practice in dispute . Teachers have been sacked for using such words and put on the register list .
this is such a backwards, old fashioned and ablest comment. having tourette's doesn't stop someone from being a great teacher
