Bret is genuine. Doesn’t lie or sugarcoat. It’s great to hear him in an interview
right you are. I think he's quite happy now in AEW and actually gets the respect he deserves. Although he's highly respected but you know what I mean
He’s the only interview I actually like because he doesn’t change his story and he has great stories. Bret’s the best
wolfpacsyxx because Bret speaks the truth
There is was and ever will be
Jaz G. Yes. But fans called that bitter. When Punk is bitter, they said he is telling the truth
@@JazG.-po5mv I sense that as well, that's why I'd buy his books, which I've seen clips of it.
@@batman-gu7pm nice
If it wasn't for that feud with Bret and the Hart foundation from survivor series 96 to the summer of 97. I truly believe Stone Cold wouldn't be who he is today. Universally considered one of, if not the greatest superstar in WWF/WWE history and a well deserved member of the hall of fame 🤷🏽♂️. These two help make the new generation and early stages of the attitude era worth watching in my opinion 👌
Randy G ehhh I don’t know...
If you’ve ever watched Steve Austin’s promos in ECW during his extremely short period there, some of his promos scream the early signs of the Stone Cold character
That’s not an opinion that’s a fact . Brett made stone cold.
Stone Cold himself said that Bret didn't make him, but Bret putting him over at mania 13 made his WWF career.
These two also had amazing chemistry in the ring. Their match at Wrestlemania 13 is one of my favorite of all time.
Bret Hart looked out for both Stone Cold and The Rock while both HHH and Shawn were hating on them.
@Hector M\Deep down, Shawn may have hated himself more than anybody else, based on how he abused his body!
Well Shawn looked out for Triple H and X PAC while other people hated on them. You can frame this in a lot of different ways...
Wrong
Bret in a way saved the business working with The Rock and Stone Cold. Not trying to screw them like Shawn did.
@@awesomereviews1561 You mean Shawn looked out for his friends, rather then what was best for the business.
Bret Hart - ‘the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be’
Alfie Brown he was a genius no arguing this!👍
@Drew Mcintyre And look what happened to WCW
WM12
@@markfry4304 and look what happened to bret hart
Vipul Doshi Bret’s the goat
The amount of respect for the two men who were each at the pinnacle of the business in their respective eras is amazing and refreshing. No ego, no selfishness, just two absolute professionals who love the business and everything about it.
I loved the changing-tires story.
These two had tremendous chemistry and their mutual respect is obvious to this day.
I want Mick Foley on the next broken skull session that one would be amazing
Yeah mick Foley's all ways a good interview. I'm surprised he hasn't interviewed The Rock yet.
@@ashleyx3822 always*
@jess3arriaga Thank you.
Stone cold and Mick have so many sit down from other shows, they prolly don't have anything new to talk about
That interview truly solidifies, that Bret Hart is the best wrestler that ever lived.
I have no idea why I loved Goldust (don't think anybody does) but that moment he had with Bret is very heartwarming and makes me appreciate him more.
Goldust was a great gimmick. Always like him. A legend in my opinion
Goldust fucking rules.
I'm yet to come across someone who doesn't love/like/appreciate Goldust.
@@GajanaNigade I remember when the Goldust angle first started. It was crazy & made Adrian Adonis look normal as hell. LMAO. Dustin carried that for a long long time. A testament to a real professional. Sacrificed his wrestling talent for his gimmick.
@@Gabriel_Cook I know but just looking at him and how strange he was... It just didn't make sense. I guess that just goes to show what talent and charisma can do. Love him and one of my favorites
What I wouldn’t give to see Bret Hart in his prime vs Kurt Angle in his prime in the main event of a Wrestlemania. We need time machines.
Might be the greatest match we'll never get to see.
@@deandrenicholas2545 I'll throw in the HBK/Guerrero WM 22 match that we almost got if Eddie hadn't died.
Even better. Make it a steel cage match!
Hart vs Angle
Taker vs Sting
Guerrero vs Michaels
Benoit vs Punk
@@eastwaters4082 rock vs hbk
Every time I watched Brett, whether performing in the ring or outside of the ring, I remember always having this thought of "wait, is this really happening. or is this part of the show"? I can't recall ever feeling that way with another wrestler. The fact that, to this day, people still debate whether or not the Montreal screw job was real or fake tells me that Brett is the best. Even when he went on shows like Mad TV and act like he was breaking character and going off on the actors. Classic Brett.
Mark Fry amazing actor and performer mate!👍👏👏👏
That time he beat up Will Sasso on a skit lol
You can't recall the correct spelling of his name, either.
@@romangagne5842 , Great example. At the time, I actually believed it was a shoot.
Bret made wrestling feel the most real
Bret Hart and Stone Cold left soooooo much money on the table. They could have had multiple Wrestlemania classics. Shame we only got 1 classic.
These two are so diametrically opposed personality wise, it's just pure gold and a license to print money for Vinnie Mac.
Not really, although it was arguably the greatest WM match ever, WM 13 drew the lowest buy rate of all time then.
Agreed they could had worked many great matches together at Wrestlemania giving us even more classic
@@markoneil5013 that is because every other match on the card sucked. One of the worst wrestlemania's of all time, greatest match to ever be seen.
I meant Bret Hart in 95 at SummerSlam 1995 super nice guy to me took a picture with my friend
Bret made me think that pro-wrestling was real. I cried everytime Bret loses. I always show them his matches to convince people that it was real. Nothing compared to pro-wrestling after Bret. Everything is just a plain soap opera.
I did too, even when I found out that he had a stroke and had cancer
Honestly, Bret Hart should be hired to be the head of WWE Creative. This man has one of the most creative and innovative minds in the history of this business.
No way, they don't wanna make triple h look like an idiot.
They don't make wrestlers like Brett anymore......Damn shame.
snydesy I like Gulak and Bryan as technical wrestlers
Brett is a once in a life time talent. Gulak and Bryan are amazing for todays wrestlers
@Lewis 970 I agree i cant believe I forgot Aj in the convo
They do...they just don't believe in them like Bret...Gable had promise
My hero as a kid
Also Bret stated elsewhere he told Vince several times if he didn't leave he would punch him
Bret always speaks the truth. Bret is the goat
@@JoshLavian nobodies perfect, clown
When Bret turned his back on America, Bret was still my favorite wrestler.
Guy Zandler I thought I was the only one...😱
Guy Zandler I wasn’t a fan when that happened but I love that phase of his career
Me too lol
I thought I was the only one cheering team Canada in that flag match.😂
Mine too
2 Goats talking about one of the greatest matches ever. Bret's my favorite all time and this is my favorite match of his (next to the match in Wimbley w/Bulldog).
Which he had to basically walk the bulldog through because he was allegedly high on coke during the match.
Just finished watching the interview. I loved it. Brought back great memories. 2 of my favorite wrestlers.
Stone cold sessions sounds like a cops/drugs TV show. 😂
I had to work tonight so I had the WWE Network playing in the background while I slept. I dreamed Stone Cold was talking to me!! Woke up and this interview was on.
Honestly my favorite wrestler of all time
If you haven't already, listen to the E&C Podcast of Awesome where Steve and Bret talk about the psychology of the double turn it was an amazing thing to listen to these two and the respect they had for each other and what they did to get each other over.
Bret truly IS the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.
WM 13 match is definitely one of the best ever! Also Bret vs. Bulldog in Wembley is on the list.
Great video! Perfect breakdown. Wanna see more of these! Keep up the good work
EVERYBODY already knows about the Bret-Shawn 'I won't do the honors for you Bret' situation, and Austin's WCW warning.
People act like they don't because they are still parroting that same BS narrative on what's best for business that the WWE pushed.
Hitman is and was all class. The best period. Old school
Bret is pure class. I’ve met the guy a million times. I’m good friends with his son Dallas and actually dated one of his nieces. The guy is one hell of a man. I have a ton of respect for him.
@@toddc7453 Bret should be the head of training in WWE. Nobody better to show how to wrestle.
The thing that makes pro wrestling so good is when these legends can improvise a match and it becomes a classic
Haven't you seen Bret Hart buries the world? His interviews are quiet entertaining he doesn't hold back.
Bret always seems lovely in interviews I don’t know what u mean please give examples
I can not explain my feelings for Bret. Love him. I still feel that he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves in WWE. Other less Wrestlers, but big names, have statues. Bret is by far a better Wrestler than Flair.
Lewis 970 his promos were better. Off course his whooo. But not his wrestling techniques.
No need for an explanation my friend.
@Lewis 970 Flair wrestled the same match every time. Only thing good about him was his promos.
Bret Hart was a better wrestler in terms of wrestling ability and match quality, but Flair cut good promos and was a good showman. They had their strengths and weaknesses.
I just finished watching that podcast and it was really fun watching 2 legends reflect on their glory days as it were and also eye opening especially the story behind the infamous screwjob
I really want to see a movie made about that
@@marvingonzalez8586 I'm pretty sure there was a documentary awhile ago that had the screwjob in it because during the Stone Cold Broken Session with the Hitman he mentioned something about camera guys a documentary so there just might be one

Almost in tears at the end of this
I love Bret now..then and ever 💖
Love his soul .
Not just the wrestler but the person
Goldberg being a botch fest - then, now, forever
You said something true and then wwe fanboys commenting like you lied 😂

Ziad Khaled he nearly killed the undertaker dropping him on his fucking head during shitty showdown 🤦🏻♂️ but yeah don’t come crying to me with your angry foreigner rage
@Ziad Khaled
He fucking sucks and he always has.
Greenberg was undergoing his wrestling apprenticeship in WCW and for a few hours after. He was hotshot to a top position whilst STILL learning on the job. . . . and that includes WWE.
What interviews of Bret do you watch? Bret is always honest about everything and always tells it like it is. Some have criticized him for going too far.
I think they mean how stoic he is in his interviews
watched this episode and it was so good. Bret Hart and Stone Cold will forever remain on my mount rushmore of pro wrestling.
I just watched this on the WWE Network and I must say it is a amazing but it was put together very well loved it
I honestly didn't expect Bret Hart to talk about Goldberg, considering that Goldberg is the current Universal champ and Vince might not like Bret burying him in an interview right before WM. I was happily wrong. Not that I dislike Goldberg but I do appreciate Bret's brutal honesty and his dgaf attitude. Easily one of my favorite Broken Skull Sessions.
Where do I watch or listen to this I can’t find it anywhere
Bret hart is the best
WM13 match is one of my best favourite matches ever.
I just watched it its amazing
I saw Bret Hart since day one, he's da realest it's gon be!!!
"everybody liked Bret, and we all thought Shawn was an asshole, but he was OUR asshole, since he was staying" - Jim Cornette on the Bret vs Shawn locker room feud.
I still haven't seen this podcast yet but av heard it was brilliant
It was brilliant and well worth watching
Bret hitman Hart is my favourite and the greatest wrestler of all time I love it when we here the likes of Stonecold, rock, shamrock, Legion of doom, bam bam Bigelow, vader, xpac, undertaker, roddy piper, Dean ambrose, kevin Owens, dustin rhodes, roman reigns, arhmed Johnson, kevin nash, bushwackers to name a few all had good to say about him even triple h said at one point during the bret Hart era is more than a nod to how great the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be, is my childhood hero when I never had a role model I turned the TV on and there he was I truly think his a good genuine guy and because of him I like to think I am too thankyou for the memories and the realism you brought to the ring bret
He really was the best. Watching his matches. They just sucked you in. They told such a great story. Nobody has done it like that since. The older he got seemed like he got better.
Bret not bitter man , he should be more bitter. In five year time he lost his dream job , because of that jerk HBK, lost his career because Goldberg took wrestle like a real sport. Then lost his brother probably , his closes brother from a stupid stunt that should of never happen , and also broke his family up. Last guy suffer a stroke because WCW could not deal with head injuries at the time. You be bitter person if this happen to you.
well he lost owne before the goldberg thing
Thats what really pisses me off.. you know, HBK stole Bret goodbye. Bret was a company man for so long that all he wanted from Vince was at the end to say goodbye to his fans and that he loves them. But its like Hunter instagated everyone to botch his goodbye into a screwjob and let HBK have some moment with the fans before leaving that really belonged to Bret. Now ppl thank HBK like "Thank you for everything you did for wrestling" as if screwing Bret saved the wwe.. what a bunch of dramatic bullsh*ters.. they knew Bret was never gonna show up on wcw with the title. He came from a family of wrestlers. Thats the most disrespectful thing you can do. Bret would give it back before going. He is a stand up dude with integrity. So the whole "Shawn you saved us".. bunch of lying b*tches.. thanking someone for ruining a legends career for no f'n reason. Was so unnecessary.
@@jakelang806 I know that
@@russellleblanc1539 Word !! That what hate the most Hunter and Shawn rewriting history of wresting with their stupid propaganda.
@Michael Anderson Bret did accept his apologize . Still gets mad about how bad Bill was reckless with that kick.
Brett hart and Stone cold to goats of wrestling
Nice work mate
I was at that RAW in Ottawa when Bret was supposed to hand over the belt. What a strange show that was.
I watched it right when we could it was great
I'm a huge Bret Hart fan but it's sad to see that after all these years he still is very reluctant to admit he holds some responsibility in things going bad in WWF. Btw was I the only one to notice how Steve talked about the injury he suffered at Owens hands, being just a bad day at the office. And yet Bret slammed Goldberg about the head kick. With Bret knowing that Owen never apologized to Steve for what happened and Bill has said a number of times he feels bad about the Bret match.
I believe Bret actually was really willing to drop the title to Austin at some point, they have great respect for each other and they seem to be pretty good friends from what I understand!
Stone cold is a class act,I'm from Canada and bret is one of the best, but stone cold will always be the best of all time.
Plot twist: the Montreal screwjob is actually the longest-running work in kayfabe. It was one of the building blocks of the attitude era which was the most successful time. Bret Hart is a perfectionist and will not break kayfabe and he will take it to his grave 😂
Nice video, thanks WhatCulture. A bit over a month ago, I finally did a trial of WWE Network. I watched a couple things that I could easily find but I did not like the interface and very little, if anything, came up in my searches within that interface. I was searching for older shows, matches, promos, etc from both wwf & nwa/wcw. I figured they no longer had the content or they didn't want me to find it so I cancelled within 2 hours. Archived content was really the only selling point for me, personally.
Unbelievable interview.
10 things we learned... Proceeds to list 10 things everyone knew.
Brets heel turn I was questioning my life was a 13 year old.. "Why Bret Why?" Still was always the biggest fan
Lol, Kevin Nash warning Hart about infighting at WCW is like Vince McMahon warning incoming wrestlers about booking that doesn't get them over.
Bret was my main in WWF era. But I've seen that background...
Bret Hart was a huge part of my childhood. Bret Hart had so many classic matches one of the very best of all time
WWE seems to be doing now what WCW did then
But WCW was successful at it WWF just sucked around that time
Love that Dude
There matches were some of the best ever.
Watching it Sunday on bt sports
Rock or Foley should be the next interviews
I know this is about Bret but on topic of number 4 I’d just like to say that Dustin Rhodes is a fucking gem. I love seeing him still having that passion to this day.
SCSA is a hero after last night
Im afraid I wont be able to understand the interview. . . I dont speak GOAT 🐐
The modern day equivalent of this is suprisingly Tessa Blanchard Vs Taya Valkriye.
Yes how short the episode was
They were both so great at your jobs that you actually felt like they both hated each other...
Let's have Scott Steiner on the next Broken Skull session
Funny that bret wasn't motivated for WM13 match considering it might be the best match of all time from a hindsight perspective given what it did for Stone Cold and how it was another essential stepping stone on the way to the Attitude Era.
This lad is the best what culture goober followed my Andy Murray.
A movie about bret hart and the Hart family incl Bulldog dynamite kid...
That happened?
You guys didnt mention any of the Goldberg stuff?
Listen to Bret on the stone cold podcast. It’s better
Bret was such an amazing worker that people thought he was shooting.
Bret Hart really was one of the very best of all time
I get that opinions vary, but in my opinion, Bret Hart is the single greatest professional wrestler of all time.
Bret Hart really is one of the very best of all time. A true legend of the wrestling business
And Goldberg is still an unsafe wrestler.
Wcw gave Brett 10 million for three years
I like when people say “Bray Wyatt is my favorite wrestler.” Dude has wrestled like five total matches in the last year but he’s somehow “carrying the company on his back.”
Undertaker has like 1 if not 2 matches a year and still has more hype than most wrestlers. It's just how it is. The greats are great
Eric Russell comparing Bray Wyatt to the Undertaker is just plain silly and an admission that you have no idea what yer talm bout.
@@AmateurBarbarian that's just ridiculous. Brady wyatt is the rebirth of the undertaker. You think I'm the only one who ever compared them??
@@batman-gu7pm except bray will never be the new undertaker and never will be, i hope aleister will end bray's reign and strike him down.

No. 6 "What Bret Hart thought before UPPERCUTTING Vince".
The one thing that I can't understand is how do you get a black eye from an uppercut?
Because Bret Hart may be a safe wrestler, but he was trained in the Hart Dungeon where they do learn how to take some rough housing and how to fight for real too. People even forget Undertaker knows Brazilian Jujitsu and Boxing. Not every wrestler needed a policeman
Needs more ad breaks.
Stare at Bret Hart long enough and see Vin Diesel @3:58
Can you imagine if Bret Hart and the Hart Foundation was apart of the Attitude Era
In the dark side of the ring Bret said he uppercutted vince.
