  • You may be wondering if I've learned anything interesting about Marvel characters over the past month of playing this game for nearly 100 hours. The answer is no. Unless you count the fact that I now know there are even more than the ridiculous number I already knew existed.

I think the reason they don't have a stats page this far after release is because they don't want people to know exactly how long they've been playing. It's the same reason they don't put windows in casinos.
The first hit is free on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/1997040/MARVEL_SNAP/ and on your local mobile garbage store.

I saw one of your comments on ACG’s enshrouded review so I checked out your channel and I subbed since I love that you have quick and succinct reviews. No fluff.

Thanks for checking it out! I've been a fan of ACG for a while now so I'm always dropping random comments on his stuff.

Great review. Facing the same decks over and over, and feeling pressured into building them yourself, is a bummer. It's a big reason why I prefer drafts in MTG.

It would be nice to have a mode like that here. They do have a conquest mode that lets you face off against a person multiple times draining their "health" with each win. That would be a perfect setup for a draft. Right now you just bring in one of your decks and use that for the whole thing.

I feel like I'd probably enjoy Marvel Snap, though I've played enough CCGs and gachas to know that finally playing Dark Souls 2 would likely be a better RoI. Thanks for the review!

It never hurts to play the classics. I just feel like I need to always have some kind of mildly competitive game on the side for some reason.

Marvel snap actually sells bad emotions to the players. Desperation, frustration and fomo. After months of playing I'm pretty sure that these sneaky tactics to get your money must be regulated especially for the kids that mostly would play these kind of games. This game deserves to die and I'm pretty sure it will soon.

I can imagine this would be much worse for children - as all gacha mechanics are. I'm not sure if it will die any time soon though since they just got a huge outside investment like a month ago.

Never got into any of these F2P card based games though I understand their appeal. They are the proto-gacha with many being successors to trading card games.
The closest one to interesting me is probably Capcom's Teppen due to the IP (I'm lukewarm on Marvel by comparison) but even then I'm more drawn to releases which are structured like console releases (one purchase but you can grind or trade to get the best decks) - Mega Man Battle Network has all the one more round-ability I'd ever need.

It's always strange to me that some of the most successful ones are those that use gacha-style distribution of cards. I've enjoyed the handful that make obtaining the majority of the cards relatively easy, but they usually suffer from low populations. Maybe because they don't earn the mountains of money necessary to advertise and pump out more cards/features.

    So, Artifact but Marvel?

I didn't know anyone actually ever played Artifact.
