777 pilot here, 737, 757, 767, A320/21, Falcon 900 and G550 over the years. I thoroughly enjoy the relaxed but professional atmosphere and approach you guys show on each and every video. Corporate aviation can be challenging but very rewarding, please keep up the good work inspiring the next generation.
Ex-airline, 7 years in CRJ’s and now in part 91 corporate living the dream. I enjoy the professionalism of you both. It’s refreshing. So many corporate pilots are cowboys and make up their own wacky procedures. You guys do it right.
I started Jan. 1966, I have commercial and A&P, now I live vicariously through you. Enjoy your vids and how you both work so well together. Keep up the good work.
50 + year old here, rusty pilot returned last summer, about 245 hours now, working on IR. Videos like this made me decide to fly again, love every minute. Paul
Thanks again for the awesome ride guys! As for the survey I am instrument rated single engine w/about 1450 hrs mostly pic. former airplane owner. What is so cool about flying is you get to visit unbelievable scenery that can only be viewed from the cockpit. Clouds can offer a world of incredible beauty, and sometimes and a ride that reminds you that when your seatbelt feels too tight, it isn't tight enough!. Really do appreciate allowing us come along and stay current so to speak.
PSEL IFR. Not current. 8 yrs since PIC. Flying sim now. Worked 40 yrs as Avionics tech for Northrop Grumman. Have friends working at Gulfstream in Savannah, which was Grumman many years ago. Keep the great vids coming. Love them.
Arm-chair pilot, sim-pilot, and really enjoy your channel, keep it up! Thanks for being so involved in your channel, videos, editing, and answering questions. Stay safe and have fun!
Saw your plane parked up At London Luton last weekend I said to my dad am sure I have seen that plane before lone and behold it’s one of my favourite channels plane
I'm an ARM-CHAIR PILOT. I've always had a fascination with aviation ever since I was a child but chose a different career path. Eventually, I'd like to get my private pilot license.
Happy Birthday! I'm 50 yo too. Time may be running out for you for the airlines but I heard that there is no age limit for corporate pilots. Here is the RUclips video that may be helpful for you...ruclips.net/video/cR5XcmOP16c/видео.html
50 is not too late! Do it -- you will never regret the decision. I've been flying recreationally for 9 yrs now and find it a near religious experience.
A tad late. Been following you two about 2 months now. Been watching your excellent videos as often as I can. No pilot but love flying. I drive trucks for a living. The both of you make a great team and love having the ATC chat in the videos. Ya'll keep up the great work. Oh yeah, hell of a call sign.
Welcome back to your world of flying. I'm grateful for the opportunity to join you both in your air travels. Non-pilot who loves to fly. Thanks and good luck!!!
Another great episode into the Corporate Pilot Life . Hopefully the wifi and FPDS information gets sorted. Have a great memorial weekend, hopefully you get this time off
Non pilot but been in aerospace 32 years (Boeing,Lucas Variety,TRW, Parker Hannifin). Machinist, assembly, quality control etc..... Currently with Parker aerospace in Dublin Ga. (just up the road from Gulfstream) We build ehsv's for several Gulfstream platforms. If you look around your aircraft you will probably spot a few. Thanks for the view of the Ga coast line.
Not a pilot, but a nervous flyer. I watch your videos because you make it look so easy and I feel more comfortable when I have to fly after watching u guys. Thanks!
I am not a pilot. I am a retired advertising-sales promotion executive who loves to fish, and always wanted to learn how to fly. It’s fun to fly with you guys......keep up the good work!
ATP, Airline, DC-9, 727, 757 747, A320/319 plus many turboprops over the years. On disability now at 59 1/2 years old. Doubt I'll ever make it back. Sure do miss it...but I love watching your videos. Makes my days go a little better. Thank you gentlemen. Safe flying....
By the way, I'm reminded by some of the comments below--controllers used to be able to take FAM (familiarization) trips on air carriers. I took a lot of them, including twice to the UK. We got to sit in the jump seat and see everything from roughly the same perspective as your cameras. Of course before about 1980 there wasn't much formal CRM, but all in all, I saw a lot of it, before and after. You guys do it as well as anyone I ever saw (that includes the crew of UA232 and USA1549). I particularly appreciate the periodic announcement that you or Jon are going to be "head down" for a few moments. That's taking situational responsibility and information sharing to the ultimate degree. Well done.
OMG. Big fan! Watching avidly! Love y'all. Make it seem so easy. I'm actually not that great of a flyer. I'm a non- pilot & get very nervous, but y'all make it look so every day & routine. You add a very positive & stable aspect. Love u guys!
Thanks mate. 9 years in the air force on Macchi326 and F/A-18s then 21 years in Saudi on Tornadoes, 4 years on Blackhawks in Australia and now back near Dubai as an instructor. Keep your Vids coming., Very enjoyable.
Did the corporate pilot life myself many moons ago, flying the Jurassic 4 engine Lockheed JetStar, the early version with the fuel sucking, window rattling Pratt & Whitney engines, I also have an (A&P) Airframe & Powerplant license which helped open doors for me to get flying jobs. Mr. Elliott
I think you're referring to the landing toward the end of the video...the LPV function did not work on the approach. We tried it again the next morning, and it worked perfectly, so we think something was not configured properly in the FMS for that approach into FXE.
I'm not a pilot. Always wanted to learn. I was flight line fire rescue @RandolphAFB. T-38 & T-37 training jets. At 63, don't think I have enough time or money to obtain a PPL. Love watching your videos. Thank you.
Audit Recon if you want to do it you can, I’ve heard of a gentleman getting his pilots license to celebrate his 90th birthday and his instructor said he was one of the best students she has had.
If you're in the USA, look into getting a Sport Pilot's license. You are "limited" to day time flying, 10,000ft , two seats, and a max gross weight of 1320 pounds. But it requires fewer hours before you can take the test. Also, light sport planes as a whole use less fuel than their bigger brothers. (I got my license at age 49.)
John Walls PSEL IFR Last pic 4 yrs ago. Had a stoke so likely not going to pass next physical. Am learning to walk again. Am 78 but still enjoy your videos.
Took some private pilot lessons several years ago but couldn't afford to continue at that time. However, now own a business and looking at getting a private pilot's license and buy a small GA plane (Cirrus) for business travel. Really appreciate your videos - just great.
Got my license in a J-3 cub, flew recreationally in a Skyhawk for some years. Really enjoy your relaxed atmosphere yet very professional behavior - nice job consistently.
I started flying in the mid 70’s. My plans were for a career in aviation. I made it through private, commercial, instrument, multi and CFI. I did a lot of instruction to build time and landed a job in the right seat of a King Air. Things were looking good until I went for my first class medical. A heart valve issue turned up on the EKG and to make a long story short, that was the end of the dream. I’ve never lost my love for flying but it was a bitter pill to swallow. My best friend who started flying the same time as I did just hit mandatory retirement after a long career with a major carrier. I love your videos...keep them coming please!
Love the videos! I'm currently a simulator pilot on my way to becoming in a certified pilot. I'm 20 and I aspire to fly commercially one day, but right now I'm thinking of going Corporate instead of airlines. There's actually a pretty decent GIV available for X Plane 11 that I've been flying a lot.
Former Army Pilot. Huey’s and Black Hawks. 2000 hours. Commercial-Instrument-Rotary Wing. Have not flown since discharge in April 1996. Would love to get my Commercial Fixed. Pushing 60 now though.
Former air cargo pilot. Retired 2010. Flew ATR and Beechcraft 99 and King air. Still got a sim at home though. Your CRM calls are nearly exactly what we used. I trained at FS in Houston.
I am flying a Piaggio P180 in Europe, running everything from operations and coordinating maintenance to handling the paperwork and financial administration for a small private / corporate flight operation. I greatly enjoy watching your videos as I endeavor to be as professional as you guys! And the G-IV is an awesome plane (like any Gulfstream 😎). Would love to fly one of those, maybe one day....
love watching you guys ! its my weekend thing every sat sun morning wish i could go back 30 years in time, would definitely be flying. My cousin flys for westjet out of calgary alta. Started out in the Yukon about 8 years ago on the bottom loading dc 3 etc etc worked his way up and is 1st office now for westjet. love your videos, keep it up guys !!!
Owned a Cessna 182. Always circled the airport after EVERY annual to check systems. Kidded with my mechanic--he should go with. Also, asked him for the pan of parts left over that he couldn't find where they came from (kidding)
FBO Line Manager 10 yrs. I have refueled the G-IV! Very nice plane and the only biz jet I am able to stand up in! I worked crop dusting for years as well during the summer, have maybe an hour of actual stick time in a Piper super cruiser, 1937 vintage
Non pilot here. Did pole. Very exciting flying with you guys. The cockpit is amazing. Id love to see a switch by switch or item name and use if it can ever happen. Thanks for your great video work also. Its like we are right there with you. Thanks guys
Controller here at ZMA. Starting at 1:46 I noticed the uncanny resemblance to Agent Smith from the Matrix. Next time someone inquires if Agent Smith is flying today and you’ll know who it is! Great channel!
Welcome back chaps! Filled in the poll - PPL + long time FS pilot too. Pity there's no Gulfstream for FS. Apparently the company has not allowed it! Questions; Why the call at 110kts after landing? Also what was 'brake speeds' you called on roll out? What comes up on the screen? Looks a diagram of the braking system? Missed you boys in my fav blue colored GIV!
Glad to be back in the air! The 110 knot callout just give the pilot flying an idea of how fast we're going to better judge how much braking is needed. I actually called out "brakes page" after touchdown. That's the page on the lower screen you noticed. We usually bring it up before landing, but sometimes we forget. This shows us the brake temperatures, and more importantly at that time, the pressure being applied to each brake. This lets us know if we are using the brakes evenly to slow down straight on the runway. I hope that answers your questions!
Corporate Pilot Life Perfectly does thank ya. Bout 12 yrs ago a GIV based at NZTG for the summer flew into NZWK about 35nm to the East to collect it's owner. WK is 4000ft! How much braking needed for that??
4,000 feet is about as short as most people (myself included) would be willing to take a G-IV into. The plane can certainly do that, but it leaves very little room for error. Land it on the numbers on speed, full thrust reverse, hit the brakes, and hope everything works the way it's supposed to.
Corporate Pilot Life Wow! There's a video of landing at WK somewhere. Easy airfield to get into parallel to the beach with no obstacles on appr. Would love to see you boys pull off a 4,000ft landing!
Somewhere I have some really old footage of us going into a 4,200 foot runway in the Caribbean...Beef Island, Tortola. I'll see if I can dig up that old video. It has water right off the end, and a sail boat was hanging out there on our arrival. We were a bit nervous.
Commercial multi engine instrument here, non current, havnt flown pic in 20 years. Really enjoy you guys. You really are class acts. Id Hate to see the bill on that trip to Maintance 😂
i am a aviation enthusiast i grow up with my dad he was in the navy and army and i have always wanted to fly a plane ever since but never pursued getting my license to fly.
How could I not be an aviation nerd. In ww2 my various uncles flew Liberators in Europe, hurricanes in Burma, Boomerangs in New Guinea while my dad flew Sunderlands out of Wales and took out U-270. O yes and also Spitfires in England. I’m 67 now and thinking about growing up cause I’m just not mature enough to be this old. Love your flights, very soothing, but interpreting the communications is doing my head in.
Not a pilot, however in my career as a mfg. engineer work on assembly on the L1011, P3 Orion, B1B, S3A,F15 MPCD. Always loved aviation and your videos want me to still pursue flying. Thank you.
I am a private pilot. Got license in 1967, flew about 250 hours, owned a Skyhawk. Had cardiac bypass in 1995, started flying in 2005 with special issuance medical, bought a Piper Archer, , flew about 250 hours, gave up medical in 2011, sold Archer.
Hey. After being an arm-chair-pilot since I was a kid I now started the course for the PPL in Europe. I have about 10 hours left to fly and then the exam. I am planning on going for the CPL after that.
I did fly PC sims a while back. Booked a Emirates flight simulator experience in London to fly a A380 into KBOS if it allows me or EGLL as a alternate for next month
We used to have Skytypers here in SoCal, flying T-6's -- then I guess economics forced them to downsize, I think to Grumman Tigers? What do you guys fly?
I'm almost a pilot :) My written test is Tue 5-29, and I've completed all of my training with the instructor. Should have my checkride sometime in June
It was fantastic! Very turbulent air for a first timer though, we landed in a 30 knot crosswind I think it was. Got blown around a tonne on final and take off. Taking controls for the first time was the most motivating and inspiring thing I've ever done. The best word to describe it is liberating. Highlight was when my FI banked it over about 60 degrees and pulled 2g in a turn, epic fun. Getting to firewall the throttle on takeoff wasn't bad either. Thank for you for inspiring me to fly through your video's, truly a sincere thank you.
Just love the annual inspection - not. And I noted the fails you saw on the test flight. My old and pampered PA23-150 just came out of a more than month long thrash. (waiting on manufacture of a PMA carb intake boot) Complicated by my long time mechanic having the bad judgement to die on me. The new one is young and never saw the old sweet potato before. Anyway he was given two orders. #1. Don't change the mag timing. #2. I need to be present for the post inspection run-up.#1 remains to be seen as the idle is not right on the starboard engine.#2 he failed to call me for the run-up. Said it was late at night.OK, fair enough (maybe)I do my pre-flight and taxi out to the run-up pad. There I discover to my delight that:1. The right mag on the left engine is dead (solid backfire on that one)2. The generator fails to come on line on the right engine (sigh)Yeah, that was one thorough run-up he did
Denny O'Connor the King Air I used to fly, after a major destruction- I mean “inspection” - we hooked up the start cart. I spun up the left engine, moved the fuel lever out of Cutoff to Lo, and that ITT needle started to peg. I pulled the lever into Cutoff but ITT was over 900 by then. Motored the engine to cool it. The FCU was haywire

That's alot of aircraft. Where do you download them? Are you fsx or x plane?
@@Repented008 17000hrs and counting, the only flight Sim I do is in the lurching cave.

Gorgeous aircraft. I like watching you guys hand fly the aircraft
I've watched a number of these videos and this might be the first one I've seen that shows the exterior. What a beautiful livery.

I’m 55 and had one flight session way back in 1981. Nowadays I fly a drone.
50 is not too late! Do it -- you will never regret the decision. I've been flying recreationally for 9 yrs now and find it a near religious experience.
Hog Man, got my ticket at 51.5yrs. It is so worth the work! Happy Birthday! Started my training a 5 months after my 50th

“What the hell is this thing?!”
Tosses mystery part in garbage
FBO Line Manager 10 yrs. I have refueled the G-IV! Very nice plane and the only biz jet I am able to stand up in! I worked crop dusting for years as well during the summer, have maybe an hour of actual stick time in a Piper super cruiser, 1937 vintage
That's awesome!
Private Pilot in 1989, not current but enjoy all of your aviation videos. Hope to do some flying again.....
I am not a pilot yet, my had his PPL for a while and I've learned a lot about flying. Currently in college, but would love to get my PPL someday soon!
Nice! I like it!
Welcome back chaps!
Filled in the poll - PPL + long time FS pilot too. Pity there's no Gulfstream for FS. Apparently the company has not allowed it!
Questions;
Why the call at 110kts after landing?
Corporate Pilot Life
Wow!
Good camera angle as we can see the rudder being controld.
Commercial multi engine instrument here, non current, havnt flown pic in 20 years. Really enjoy you guys. You really are class acts. Id Hate to see the bill on that trip to Maintance 😂
Isn't it great when you get your toy back!
I'm a simulator Pilot using Prepar3D V4.2 flying mostly the Phenom 300 and the PMDG 737 NGX. Over 2yrs experience.
love jon's phrase,a bunch of chicken hawks
i am a aviation enthusiast i grow up with my dad he was in the navy and army and i have always wanted to fly a plane ever since but never pursued getting my license to fly.
Stephen Little my dad - may he Rest In Peace- told me the day a guy “grows up” is the day he dies
Not a pilot, however in my career as a mfg. engineer work on assembly on the L1011, P3 Orion, B1B, S3A,F15 MPCD. Always loved aviation and your videos want me to still pursue flying. Thank you.
I’m an aspiring pilot! Father owned FBO’s in North Myrtle and Albany GA! Grew up around airplanes! Counting down the days until I start!
Excellent! Let us know how the progress goes!
I did fly PC sims a while back. Booked a Emirates flight simulator experience in London to fly a A380 into KBOS if it allows me or EGLL as a alternate for next month
GEICO Skytypers based at KFRG. Nice job guys.
William Murray congratulations and good luck!
Fantastic! Let us know how it goes!
Passed my PPL written today with a 100!
Congratulations!! Now you just have that practical...no problem! Let us know!!
William Murray great news and good job!
Non pilot but I used to work on the F-15 and got a ride once. No words to describe it.
I soloed at 18, but never followed through. Became a FA for an express carrier.
Non-pilot currently, hopefully that will change. Going for my first student flight tomorrow!
Awesome! Let us know how it goes!
Hey Guys, just recently found your channel and love the cool videos. Plan to keep watching Thanks
The generator fails to come on line on the right engine (sigh)Yeah, that was one thorough run-up he did
That's no fun. They usually have a few hiccups after a big inspection, but that seems excessive.
