That was the problem with the french shite they used some rubberised coating that held all the moisture in it is exactly the same on the Xsara Picassos on the sills just under the front part of the front doors, you could tell without prodding and poking because it looked like it suffered with piles 😂
Good job.... maybe would be good to try to have the author garage side, the "paint both" to a panel restoring area, so you can do service on 2 cars at the same time.... Ellie so cute! Nala is cute in her way, but Im a Golden Retriever guy, like labrador to.... XRTT⁉️
I'm gonna make a wild guess and say tha's oop north........impressed with the work and so I'm wondering roughly whereabouts as I've a 2006 Allroad that needs a jacking point repaired and perhaps a look around elsewhere.......I'm near the south coast so logistics might be interesting 😁
Shitreon 😂😂 that repair will outlast the car. Collin as always your work is brilliant. Av got my Mk5 GT Tdi to do this on the sills are rotten as a pear.😂 Can I have a job Collin 😂😂. Where did you get your repair panels I got mine from Poland. Got love a bit of CAD 😂😂. Don't go pulling yourself of over the customer's car I don't think they like that 😂😂.
Love the way the sills tore off like a strip on an Amazon parcel!! But please, put a guard on the angle grinder, I cringe everytime I see a bare disc spinning.
if you get any more of these types of jobs you will need to change the name to "rust repairers" looks good another one back on the road nice job collin , the mot man will be happy !!
Good repair job compared to the fist repair, just one question, I thought they had to be continuous weld seams to pass MOT, a few years back when I was doing Mot repairs it had to be seam welded and not plug welded, as you did, although this is pretty much how it was done at the factory, not a criticism just an observation.
that is absolutely correct, but when fitting a full sill section, you don't have to fully weld along the bottom spotwelding like-for-like is fine but you must weld all along the top seem
It is what we used to do before we became a throw away society because of easy credit, I have always had old cars as daily drivers and the Wife's car is a 32 year old Polo that still does a 60 mile round trip a day to work and because we have had it 20 Years and I maintain it super well it never fails us.

GREAT VIDEO Colin, the best form of recycling much better than buying a new car.

Good job, I do worry when I see you using the grinder without a guard
They get in the way, and to be fair if you are sensible and used to using them properly not as dangerous as you think.
You have you know when and when not to us them :)
