"If somebody is shooting slugs at you at ten feet, you would be wise to move". Got a good chuckle out of that.
As an anethetist working on a Level 1 Trauma team, I take care of a lot of GSW victims in the operating room. It's pretty remarkable how survivable most wounds outside the area covered by these vests are... Since most big city shootings are with pistols, you would dramatically increase your odds of surviving in the event you do get shot while wearing one. I bought one of these and look forward to testing wear-ability and comfort in practical clothing here in Hotlanta.
I'm a neurosurgeon. I've treated GSW patients quite a bit.
You forgot to mention you can slide rifle rated plates in pockets on front and back to bump up the rating to Level 4
I wear this everyday for work as a federal security officer in Washington DC. My company only got me a level 2a. This is definitely worth the price and piece of mind.
I’m working in Alexandria , is your company hiring ? Would love to move up into federal positions

I don't know if I would even want to survive that shotgun volley. Talk about PTSD...dang!
Idk if you would, the force would crack ribs and probably rupture organs
Yo look at Garand Thumbs new video on the deadly ability of the shotgun
Lol I don’t think you would my brother, it would be quite the painful death indeed. I’d be like, “hey let me take this armor off first bro so I die faster!”
Sorry the lake in front of your house dried up.
New covid regulation says the government gets the water cuz its technically a super spreader. 🤣
Lol
Welcome to the Thunder Dome!
Damn climate change.
🤣🤣🤣
Just ordered my own today. As a gas station cashier who works nights in CALIFORNIA I gotta say it's worth every fucking penny
I’ve worn level lllA for years and that was the minimum for my employer. Definitely shown here the product is very capable of making sure you live during a firefight.
Three words come to mind”Blunt Force Trauma”
Also on the website this armor was not advertised to stop rifles, but they do have a module rifle plate you can change in and out and it does work with the concealed vest.
Glad I found this video, been looking into this vest for my EMT job and looks like it's pretty good
Same im looking for one for my security job lol
EMS too. I use this every day. Love it
Love the video and quality with great descriptions
That's the exact armor I just got, so I'm glad to see a review on it.
Just ordered my vest today with and got fast shipping can't wait to wear my new comfy vest on duty. Great video thanks for putting it to the test!
Thank you for this review and test.
Its a very nice vest, I've worn it for some very long week and weekends. I am very confident with it.
Saved over forty bucks with your code! Thanks!
Great Review as always!
They have level IV icw rifle plates that can be used for this if you are worried about rife rounds. Great review.
Good video Mike. Thanks.
Just ordered the bundle last week. It comes the ceramic plates (not stand alone) and a tactical vest. I've seen other reviews, but it is always good to see I have made a good purchase.
After that shotgun volley.... "You might not be dead... but you'll wish you were" Jesus I can't even imagine.
Oh snap, brought back that opening beat! Absolutely love it
Like always an excellent video, did that vest by any chance have the hard rifle plate level IV in the front
Mr. G& G. Thank you!
I absolutely love your 300 blackout toy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I own this and I highly recommend purchasing it
he took all of this shoots like a man ! not even single word !
Cool video. Great to see it stops buckshot. Would love to to see how it fairs against 10mm Extreme Penetration rounds.
It'll stop em
Before the slug you should have turned the vest around because the front is already shattered from the previous rounds.of course the rounds are going to go through
No flinch on the empty chamber of the .44 mag. My man.
used your discount code and saved $59.90 thank you
Nice JM pro, mine runs like a cheetah on cocaine. I put over 1100 rounds through it before I got a malfunction and it ran cheap Walmart bulk pack right from the box.
I have my vest on now!!
Looking at the Billistic Armor Levels I need a 338 lapua.
I am thinking; If you got shot with a slug at 10 feet away while wearing body armor, you're probably going to wish you didn't survive. At least at first. LOL
Once the adrenaline wears off, probably yeah :P
I just got my guard card and I plan on doing CQB cert class. I plan on workin school and helping protect little ones.
Have you ever tested any of cati armor level 3+plates or tactical scorpion level 3+ or 3a?
You give a good review on the walker xcel is there a reason you don’t wear them?
iv been running there IIIa+ for about a year now for work. it takes a WHILE for it to break in, and the carrier it comes with is trash. i went and got a safari land carrier and it made it fit much better and concealed better. All tho depending on your body type it might not conceal as well as a fitted set of armor.
Have you seen any information regarding the Stealth Armor Systems Hexar system? It seems to live in obscurity and there are some name issues regarding the guy who seems to be in charge. I guess he used to be involved with the dragon skin project..
I can’t find any real information besides some old forum threads
7:33 Love that Facebook picture hahahahaha
So Far, So Good!
please review the ShotStop Duritium III+pa plates!
Woot woot 👍🏼🇺🇸
I counted 2 pass through for the slugs
Just bought the package deal for myself and my son. He will get the level 4 plate carrier with added side plates and I will have this setup. They say you can level 4 this 3a+ stuff with steel plates. What type would I need, will they fit the conceal carrier, and steel in front or behind soft? Might be a stupid question to some, but I've never worn, and have only been shooting for 7 or 8 yrs now.
Safelife sells plates that when used in conjunction with the 3a armor, it becomes level 4. And the players arent steel so they arent as heavy.
I have the fras vest paid a pretty penny for it but it was worth everydime.
The advertising for IIIA+ Side Armor Panels 6" x 8" is very misleading. I purchased 2 sets and all 4 panels measured 4"5/8 x 7"1/4 inches. The weight on Safe Life Defense website says 0.5 pounds for a set. The actual weight is 13.1 ounces for cut down versions of what they advertise as there 15% more coverage.
Do they come with two panels? Is there a red body armor insert in the back of the vest as well??
Hey my man, what vertical grip was on the Kobalt Kinetics AR??
looks like a tilted folding grip maybe
Even with armor could you imaging how bad it would hurt to get hit with a slug that close? It would probably still be lethal if it hit just right.
Oh definitley could cause some serious internal bleeding
I guess certin factors would be in play but a shot to the heart with a hard hitting round could prove to be fatal
Can you but a different bulletproof plate in the vest
I find that the sizes run small for what you’d expect. I’m 5’11” 170 on a skinny day. I was supposed to be a small, but I usually wear large clothing.
I'm 5'11 185 lbs. So should I get a Large size? I used to be the same weight as you, but I gained a couple.
@@NatsaryahTX their website would tell you to get a medium. I actually bought a medium at first because I figured I wanted room for growth if I, for whatever reason, gained ten or more pounds. It was huge around my chest and there was so much overlap around the sides that I couldn’t properly Velcro it together.
When you do a size exchange, they ask you to send pictures so they have an idea of what size you should go to. They ended up suggesting a 2XS for me, and it’s slightly too small. I’m most likely going to have another size exchange done so that I get true wrap around coverage instead of having an inch gap on either side.
@@ProGunsZach ok, thank you for the info.
u shot the armor many times before using the 300 black out
Will this vest hurt less then regular 3a?
Do you think you could put a steel plate or ceramic plate in front of the flexible armor is there enough room for both of them
The carrier has slots for ceramic plates
Is there an insert in the back as well or just the front?
If you use two plates, both level IIIA soft armor, in conjunction, how much can you stop???
You could effectively improve the stopping ability of the vest and reduce the blunt force of impact to some extent. However, the density of soft armor plates makes them heavy. So stacking two well made soft plates, front and rear in your vest would probably be at the point of diminishing returns. At that point, you'd probably just want to get hard armor.
Kindly test 22TCM
Are these front side and back or just front armored?
And if the perp misses the vest?
Where are you shooting today? It looks like Vegas, if so where was it?, if I can know.
He said that *SafeLife paid for him to visit and provided what he needed to make the video... So, if they are in Vegas, then that is where he was shooting this. I was wondering the same, and just caught him saying that at the end of the video.
is a good vest
Can you make a video on the brave European guy who build guns? It really destroys any “you can’t build guns” argument anti-gunners use
If only they would fix their website, I've been trying to check out the site since black friday but it won't load
Didn't you do this a bit ago?
Nice to know it can take 7 slugs, but I don’t know if I could take 7 slugs!! The internals are just screaming!!
What about 5.56 green tip? A very common round
If the geese start honking, and a guy in a boat floats by I’m going to loose my shit.
"If it bleeds we can kill it". 💀
LOL GET 2 THE CHOPPER
All of a sudden in the desert from that lushy green environment..? :D These armour tests are always interesting. I used to wear one type or another for about 2 decades and saw them evolve quite a bit. In the FDF I often wore a 90's style full combat body armour with ceramic plates AND the entire battle gear on top of it.. Really restricted the use of the rifle and especially anything tossable since the shoulder pieces hinged you down when throwing.. It weighed like 30lbs/13kilos for f*** sake.. and the battle harness was another 30lbs. plus the rifle and that 2lbs./kilo helmet on top.. xD Funny thing is though that after all these so called "tactical" stuff thrown at these vests all it takes is an old hunting rifle to slice right through it.. And from a good bit of distance as well..
Why don't you just load your mags with 1 round when doing these tests?
I know right
Agree.
Different calibers
Sweet
Dang......looks like you need a little 🌧.
Poor Geese.
I saw this vest on their website for around $550 does it come with the armor plates included at that price?
No. It does NOT come with plates. You must purchase those separately.
Will they ever have anything in stock?
buy some AR550 PLATES
What is the softest/less recoil shotgun out there as of today? After shoulder surgery shooting my Benelli supernova feels like I my arm will fall off.
I bought a Remington v3 shotgun after 3rd shoulder surgery. Not sure it's the softest shooting but way better than the old 870. Anyone can chime in on this subject with personal experience, I'd like to hear the information as well
@@redneckninja2539 Thank you, yeah the one I heard the most is the Beretta A400 Extreme but would also like to know more about what ppl with shoulder issues shoot in terms of shotguns. Also heard of shooting low recoil shells but those won't run in a semi-auto shotgun very reliably and would still like to shoot common ammunition that's found everywhere.
Can it stop the five seven? Speedy little round might have a chance...
Don't see it stopping a 5.7
I've heard mixed bag reviews on them all over RUclips, reddit, etc.
Not being NIJ Certified, but being NIJ accredited.
I've been on the fence for their products for quite some time now.. this video helps.
The IIIA+ is supposedly NIJ certified.
I think the force of a shotgun round on that vest might still kill you with internal bleeding.
What type of shotgun was he shooting?????
Any one else think level 3a vests(with the exception of more body coverage and comfort) are still viable for protection? I'm just curious because it seems with the more and more use of rifles by criminals, it would be much better to get atleast level 3 armor when plates are getting lighter(UHMWPE, ceramic, anything but steel).
IMO with the price of this vest, one could get level 3 UHMWPE plates and a plate carrier for roughly the same cost and weighs similar.
Yes because when you look at crime statistics handguns are many times more common than rifles. If you want rifle plates go for it, but in many roles I think IIIA still has merit.
@@Murphy82nd Too me it's like gambling. One may get shot by handgun, one may get shot by a rifle, hopefully one won't get shot at all. But as I work as armed security, it seems having armor that covers all threats is the best of both worlds. Peace at mind so to speak
@@pocketsand4404 sure, but not every prospective buyer works armed security. The carrier for this supposedly has slots that would fit ceramic plates if you wanted. If you don’t mind the weight or bulk and you think it’s important for your job by all means step up to better protection. Be aware though of both this and any budget options if they’re made in China and don’t have any NIJ certification, especially if it’s your job.
@@Murphy82nd Agreed on all points. NIJ certified is the way to go
I just picked up a tac carrier vest, concealed carrier vest, 3a+ soft plates, 2 Level IV ICW Rifle Plates, 3a+ side armor inserts, and with custom patches for the tac vest for $1,079, pretty good price I think
whats a good glock build kit still available online? Thanks
The stock oem parts the gun comes with.

Um. Ok?🤔🤷♂️
Comment for the Al Gore Rhythm.
Blunt force trauma from slugs can kill as well. Zero protection from that. Product is good quality and I have one from a couple years back.
This specific model of vest is actually rated for blunt energy transfer reduction.
Looks like you're in my neighborhood.
Nize!
Well the only issue is u shot it like 30 times before using the 300blackout
It wont stop it I saw that on another channel
Question I was thinking about getting my wife a Glock 19. It will be her 1st gun, she has shot my Beretta Apx and she handled it well. I am not a Glock guy for say put I do like all the accessories you can get, what do you all think
There are plenty of accessories for the Beretta Apx. Get her one, as she's familiar with it...
@@bryanduchane2371 I told her that put she is listening to my brother in-law and he is Glock Glock and only Glock
@@waynebattersby9461 she’s married to you. That ought to count for something to her. The APX can fit smaller hands very well, useful for a female.
@@waynebattersby9461 Does she know that many militarys have adopted the Beretta over Glocks?? From a reliability standpoint, your getting nothing more by buying a Glock. Did you already know that, but if she hears it from someone else, maybe she'll believe it....
@@bryanduchane2371 I have told her that
Is it true that you charge the companies that you review 5-10% of the sales off of that product for the next 3-6 months after the review?
Why is that something you would want to know??He reviews guns/ammo/armor etc and definitely does so thoroughly. Are you paid hourly or salary at your place of employment?Does your employer offer a 401k/IRA plan and if so,what percentage do you put in out of your paycheck?See how that sounds💩
I really want a “Problem Solver” but here in Cali, the G40 is for Law Enforcement only.
@73Corbin California banned any handgun that came out after 2000 I believe. They will sell you a Glock 19 gen 3, but not a gen 5. It's insane. Google CA handgun roster if you care to know exactly how screwed CA gun owners are.
@73Corbin
That’s exactly what I’m saying. Cali is stupid, man. The G40 isn’t legal but the G29 is. It’s a 10mm in a sub compact. More crazy shit, only gen 1-3 glocks are legal in Cali. No gen 4 & 5.
What glasses are you wearing?
I that the stabby stabby one?
I think all of their models are xd
Didn't get a notification
i have been hesitant in buying the 3a plus because it seems more like infomercial. what took the slugs and the few rounds on this didn't compare to their and other videos and i will agree with the the other comment it has been a nonstop text and email bombardment of you need to buy now.
The IIIA+ is at least NIJ tested, whereas the basic IIIA they sell doesn’t appear to be. The IIIA+ essentially buys you protection against more niche options like the Liberty Defense 90gr and 5.7x28 (I’m guess out of a pistol). Given the difference is only $100 it might be worth it.
