@@MatthewSimm trouble is with the savox 2290 install videos they seem to all need to make adjustments to the chassis? I didn't really want to make any changes to that. That's why I was considering just putting in the Traxxas 2085x as it's a straight swap
I don't remember seeing it but u put up something like a month ago about a cheap crawler. Have u ever put that video out? I was pretty interested. Can u tell me the name of the crawler atleast?
@Matthew Simm I almost went with a pro modeler for my Xmaxx but sadly the one I wanted was sold out and I had to go with a savox. I hope it will be strong enough I also will have trenchers.
@@MatthewSimm I’m really surprised you can’t get any hot racing parts shipped to you. The HR bellcrank is super nice. Comes with two new servo saver springs also. One for the stock servo and one stiffer one for stronger aftermarket servos. Does Amain or any eBay sellers ship HR parts to you Matthew?
I have a question for ya. I have a xmaxx 8s and I had issues spitting the pinion off. I went with a tekno 18 tooth pinion with the 5mm set screw which solved the issue of it coming off but it makes the mesh tight. It makes it whinny and generates more heat. It doesn’t get too hot but I’m more worried about the whinny ness. Should I leave it in or is there more options out there. Thanks in advance
i know its been a wile and idk if you have figured tis out but my xmaxx had a issue with spitting of pinions, eventually i guess i found a fix somewhere between taking the motor out to try and grind a better flat spot and replacing the motor bearings which actually helps a lot, but the best thing ive found to work is to dab a lil orange thread locker in the setscrew and even a bit in the hole the shaft goes in, this seems to help tremendously, but if i continue to have this issue i have found that arma makes d shaped holes in their pinions which i can only imagine is way better
Looks badass. I'm not sure for 300bucks. Then again I'm sure there are people here who have replaced the stock one or the x 2 or 3 times so....... I'm just a newbie. My first one died on my first 10 min of run (bought used but not that old) gears not stripped just stopped working.
If this thing survives longer than the steering components then it's already paid for itself 😅. It is pricey, but considering the new 2085R servo from Traxxas for the Xmaxx is $140... I'd just buy this once and call it a day. It'll probably never die, especially if you run it at lower voltages.
Oohhh. It's a little over my budget, but I think I might have to get this just because. Gonna be tossing a xlx2 1100kv system in my xmaxx along with the m2c motor mount system.
Sorry, you're mistaken, the 6V off the Traxxas receiver (via the built in BEC) only feed the servo control electronics. As the OP mentioned, the servo itself is then powered off a dedicated 4S pack. And don't try to use one of the propulsion 4S-propulsion packs for this because ripple off the motor/ESC will damage the servo in short order - they warn against this. So just use a dedicated pack and you'll be in tall cotton.
Iv tried to buy this servo. But this guy's website is so jacked up it makes it impossible to purchase it. Spent a hour on his website trying to buy it but it kept not letting me. So stupid
The servo saver is no longer there to save the servo. It's there to save the steering components from being destroyed by the servo.
Haha most definitely 🤣
It should still fit the xrt right I'm curious I wrecked mine real bad and need a real upgrade
What's motor, ESC, gearing, and differential fluids are you running.
Did you add bec? Is this the best one they have?
Is it waterproof?
That servo is a beast!
Oh yeah 😎
What a beast of a servo! Need this for my xmaxx!!
It's really nice dude! But it's pretty expensive haha, I'd probably consider the savox 2290

Any links to the servo in the uk?
I'm running the atomik bellcrank in my xmaxx.. does awsome
I'll check it out thanks bro! 😊
1800 oz and grade 12.9 bolts?! That's crazy!

When will the install vid come out ?
After I repair the xmaxx haha

WHERE CAN I FIND THIS SERVO ON EBAY
Will this fit the maxx?
Shipping worldwide ?
Jo, tolles Servo. Hast Du das Servo mit 3S oder mit 4S gefahren?
I put the Hot Racing bell crank in mine and I absolutely love it!
I can only get the gom one in Australia 🤔 hopefully it works well
@@MatthewSimm I’m sure they’re basically the same. It’s really tightened up my steering and I love it.
Yeah that's what I want bro, too much slop in the stock one
@@MatthewSimm agreed. I have the upgraded Traxxas servo in mine. Not that monster servo you have now. That thing you have is crazy fast

Just got mine in the mail!!!! 😎
THAT WAS AWESOME! Can’t wait to run mine! Great video!!!

Go with a GDS spur gear. It takes out that whine you're hearing. I'm running 20/50 no whine, runs cool and plenty of get up and go!

Absolutely dude, I'm going to do some proper tests soon 😉
Do u have the link
I wonder if that drive shaft would bounce of bend off how big that servo is
if you run the m2c driveshaft you shouldnt have any issues!

It's definitely sick but just 1055 with 7.4 if you don't want to run an external bec due to room or budget reasons
Is it really worth the money?

$280 ! No thanks 🤣 probably the nicest servo I've seen tho 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Haha yeah, she's pricey
Depending on what the warranty is like I'd buy it!
How much is the servo
$230 plus you need the pack and the control horn
So the bad news. All of Traxxas ESC's are rated at 6V output for their built-in BEC's. So that's all you are going to get.

Have you thought about RV boats
Great servo. Still running stock in our xmaxx. I thinks it's on it's last leg lol 😆
Oh wow! Time for an upgrade?
Very nice 👍🏻
Has thunder RC influenced you haha
Just a little 😉 haha
Hey Matt
What's up Mike! 😊
Guess Thunder is buying you some upgrades. lol.
