Im not an artist, im just an electrical engineering dude who ink draws almost every single day for fun. There's almost a time every day, when i literally crave to draw... And for me what unlocked that is the seeking for good no matter what on what ive done. I wanna draw again, cuz the other time when ive done it, it was a blast cuz of that dude was badass/that gesture line was sick/goofy bro is just goes ayooooooo. No matter what i produce, i have to have one thing to like... The thing is when somebody approaches drawing they expect to learn just a little, so they feel better about that. But as you start learning, you gonna know more on what you have done wrong.. The devestation every time is pretty cruel and the list of sucking goes on and on... But if you can find at least one thing to like about it, you gonna be next time like "ive done that cool thing, im gonna do another one now"... Even tho i dont have the "why" "do" "have" "be" thing, i have the 'im gonna "believe" that what i do is cool no matter what'. (yeah i suck, but who cares in the end xdddd studying bridgeman, franklin booth and other ancient buddies rules, even tho i dont get it right for the first time) (Who have read all of that should note, that everybody differs. So having multiple lenses what helped people can help you whats gonna motivate you, but not always... and as i noted im not an artist, just a simple dude...)
Damn Charlie… You’re so relatable, and you’re slowly but surely bringing my motivation to draw, even though it usually sinks back every few weeks, I feel like you can help me a lot. I sure hope that I make the list for the next 6 months
Aww man!! Listen you got this!! No matter what! I promise you if you want it badly enough (to learn to draw) then my friend you've already have the capability! Now it's just takes time! And I hope to see you in there when the doors open next week! 😬
Thank you for the video Charlie. I’ve always had a dream to make comics and animations but the gap between my art and where I want to be is getting larger every day. No better time than the present to start.
I find that my biggest hurdle is finding the drive to draw or sculpt instead of sitting down to play a game. Having the creative process be more enjoyable then an interactive story. I find that moment once and awhile, but it's inconsistent. I always want to create when I simply can not (when I'm working) but once I'm done with those and I have the time to create I enter this state of debate. Do I create or do I play? Trying to get that play/enjoyment mentality to manifest in my artwork will probably be the key to being able to focus more on it and maybe make it so I dont have a time I would rather be drawing (becoming a professional creator)
Love your videos!, not sure if you've already said this in the past or made a vid about. But how do you find good photo references? What do you search? What website do you use?
I started with a small drawing tablet about ten years ago. Work life has drained most of my motivation and plus I practiced story writing. Now I'm ready to double down. When I can I practice with some scribbles with a pocket book and pen.
👋 Hi!! Yes it does. I want to make this as good of an experience as I can and work alongside 100 artist teaching them everything I know. Not just the techniques but also the mindset I've developed to learn to draw! I do hope you can join!!
I was thinking about this recently, and the best way I can describe my drawing process is like taking apart a car piece by piece, then rebuilding it in a new location, one piece at a time. When I’m drawing, I’m rarely focused on the whole figure. Instead, I break it down into individual parts and reconstruct it on the page. For me, it feels more like a science than an art.
sry but you need talent to draw. I have tried and tried and tried and all i get is shit. Sry but the whole belief thing does nothing if you lack the talent to draw in the first place.
Nah, I look at my old drawings, and I couldn’t even draw a stickman, while now I can draw human anatomy. Believe in your self, and simplify shapes to their basic structure.

This though. I was able to improve the moment I stopped being jealous of other people’s art. You improve when you experiment with things and fail.
