  • A few unseasonably warm days melted all the snow that had been covering our local mountain roads, so I spent a morning checking on some favorites. Conditions were nearly perfect, with surprisingly few trees down.
    There was almost too much traction, though, so I'm already looking forward to some more spring rain.

    Look how clean that front diff is - I don't know if mine has *ever* looked that clean! : ) I spied some of that classic Disco rear-end pogo - I blew out a couple pairs of 9-way adjustable Rancho rear shocks before finally switching to custom valved remote res shocks that could provide the proper dampening for a camping-gear-loaded Disco zooming over the terrain. I ran Fox Shox at first, but have recently upgraded to an Australian brand called Superior Engineering, 8-way adjustable remote res shocks. Kingpin Fabrication in Australia custom valued them for me and they are like butter on the trail, it's amazing!!

    I will be in Portland soon.. Not sure where your located. It would be awesome if my range rover was in one of your videos.. Kinda Surprised that you don't have some kind of front skid plate on there. Though it does look more nimble without one, you never know when something is going to target that front end under there... Great videos, music is good too not over powering the vehicle and trail sounds. When your off-roading what gear do you run in? I use third, low range for most slow tracks, it gives pretty good control and plenty of power, when you need it. Take care.

    • @tfrasca142
      @tfrasca142  Год назад

      Thanks for the comment. I'm down in Corvallis, and I love a good RRC. I've been thinking about a skid plate. I did slightly bend my drag link, so some protection would probably be wise. My D1 is an automatic, so I generally leave it in third for climbs, and first or second for descents.
