I remember getting pretty damn stuck on that little hill on Marys when I first got it, and I think you pulled me out. Let’s go do that again in a sketchier way!

Fun watching the technical sections! Two words... Diff guards. Will you be relocating the steering damper too? That puppy likes to get smashed on rocks in its stock location.
Yup, definitely planning on diff guards and burlier steering links/relocating the damper. My track rod is already slightly bent - enough that I can't get the steering wheel to track straight ahead.
@@MegaMezzz Cool. The things to look out for, in my opinion, are pretty similar to any old car. The bodies on D1s are prone to rust, especially from leaking sunroofs and windshield seals. Water goes to the floor and is absorbed by some really thick foam sound deadening material. First thing I'd do with a D1 is pull the carpets and dry that out or remove it entirely. Otherwise, I'd just be looking for one that had been regularly driven and maintained.
Found your channel the other day. I see you are a fellow Volvo head as well. I have a question about your Disco, what wheels are those? They look familiar but I can't figure out what they are. Thanks...great videos by the way.
Former Volvo head at this point. My turbo 142 hasn't run since 2019. Someday Redblock Jesus will forgive my sins and the Volvo will ride again. The Disco has 16x7" 0mm offset steelies that I ordered from LRparts.net. But honestly, I'm pretty sure they just source steel trailer wheels in the appropriate BCD.
@@tfrasca142 Yeah I don't disagree really. I enjoy them too.. But then your like hmmm I start wondering about certain parts or trails and wouldn't mind a little bit, but I get what you mean
Superb content.
Hell yes!!! Such a huge difference from when it was stock!

I’m down! Maybe within the next month or two? Play it by weather? 😂

Another great job brother!!
Thank you!
Beautiful video
Looks Like all the work is paying off. Great video
Thanks!
I love your video
Thank you!

PNW scenery at it’s best!
Slippy rocks!
Similar country to parts of the UK.
Well done for picking up the rubbish.
I always try to have a trash bag with me, because there's always something to pick up.
awesome video Tyler! Disco is looking proper beastly! Pray for snow and let’s get out together soon.
For sure. Forecast is looking grim, but I’m trying to be optimistic.
Disco handled those rocks no problem, looks like a fun trail!
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. Given how bald my tires are getting and how wet the rocks were, I figured I'd be winching at least once.
If you’re ever up in Washington, we should definitely do some off-roading / filming!
I just checked out some of your videos. Really good. Where in WA are you?@@rustyintheoutdoors
Nice video Tyler. I love how effortlessly the discos go over stuff and the sweet sound of v8!
The sound track sure is nice.
Love that V8 growling! Had a 2 door Classic Range Rover in Ardennes Green with the 3.9L Efi that I regret selling.
Pretty weak little engines by modern standards, but they sure do sound good.

Thanks. I’m down in Corvallis.
Love the video and your ethics towards nature, the disco is looking like a beast, I'm thinking of getting a v8, any advice?
Thanks! Are you looking at a D1 V8?
@@tfrasca142 yeah I've checked a few already.

Those wet rocks can destroy a tire side wall in no time but you did a great job! 👍

Ha, my wife must have said something off camera, but neither of us can make it out. I didn't even notice anything until you pointed it out.

Interesting, I figured people preferred these driving videos without commentary.
