Well done, Corey! I had only half-guessed the tobacco figuring that Presbyterian was going to be in the tobacco's name. The church and Presbyterian Reformation are an excellent 'pairing'. Your descriptions - accessibly descriptive as always - have put this tobacco on my list. Your quick tour of the Reformation and the Protestant Reformation was informative and enjoyable. 'Resolving' doctrinal and theological differences and even worship customs by splitting rather than discussing has, sadly, been going on in the Christian tradition for centuries. The First Presbyterian Church building is impressive as are its grounds. What really captured my interest though was the organ. That's the sixth organ that's been installed in the church sanctuary. The first organ, a one manual instrument of only 6 ranks, was restored in 1995 and relocated. The current sanctuary organ sounds and the choir sings from on high, literally. Curious as to how that works out during a service, I looked up the organ specs. There are 6 flat screen monitors that give the organist a view of what's going on 'down there'. Thanks for another great visit and review, my friend. Be well and stay awesome - peace

So sorry it took me this long to watch this video, but good ol'e YT un-subbed me to your channel. This is not the first time this has happened. That church looks to be well preserved and maintained. Ya the good old days when a ship needing to go from East to West had to go via rounding the horn. What a long trip.

    Hola Corey, my dear friend,
a very important date for the whole religious world. I have been to Wittenberg a few times to see the church and its famous portal. It is still impressive.
I know the Presbyterian Mixture as a good tobacco, which I have smoked a few times.
The new Mixture is obviously quite different, but I think another good job by Mac Baren. I like the nice tin art.
Thanks for the reminder of this important time in the religious revolution in Europe.
    Take care, amigo.
    Best wisches from the 🌞🏝.

Yes...it is a pivotal date in European and Western history.
The US would be quite a different place without this shattering of the Western Church.
Yeah...another great flake put out by Mac Baren-Sutliff.
      Quite interesting!

Hello Corey, always a pleasure. The architecture of some churches is always interesting, particularly old ones with catacombs. I chuckled when I saw the arrival of Presbyterian Reformation. I got a tin and have had several bowls, it's a pleasant aromatic with toned down topping. What's interesting to me is Sutliff makes a rarely talked about bulk called Mocha Slices, it's a beautiful long Flake that looks similar to the Presbyterian except for length, possibly an amped up amount of toppings, I need to do a side by side comparison. There is another new Presbyterian coming out in an orange tin that is a crumble cake but I can't remember it's components. Perhaps I should launch Vatican and Vatican II (😁). That meerschaum is darkening at quick rate, beautiful!
    Warmest Regards,
    William

Both “only scripture” and “only faith” have Biblical support. The latter is most clearly stated in Ephesians 2:8. The former is less direct, but can be inferred from a number of different passages, e.g., in Acts 17 when the Berean Jews examined Paul’s teaching against their accepted scripture. The more contentious issue has been to “agree” on what is considered canonical. These are but two examples of support for those positions. Are those positions correct or complete? That’s a whole ‘nuther can o’ worms😂
Loved the history and review-of yet another blend I haven’t tried yet-as always. Thanks for continuing to bring great content.

      Hello Ethan, hope you're well!
      Thanks for taking the time!
And thank you for your good comments!
Yeah...well...my point was only that Luther brought new ideas into the church, I'm sure many perspectives can be argued from the texts.
But Luther himself struggled to make his arguments viable...even attempting to create his own canon of scripture that align with his thinking.
He wanted to throw out a few books of the Bible, including the Epistle of James, because it directly contradicted his thinking....
The Protestants ended up with a different Canon in the end anyways.
Remember at this point, most Christians, east or west, had never even read the scriptures, nor could they, most were illiterate and it was written in Latin in the Western Church.
And my point was also that his actions unlike many of the heretics from before, ended up fracturing the Western Church in a major way.
      Anyway....interesting history to look at!
      Take care and be well!
      Corey

Hi Corey: My goodness, I had forgotten how impressive that church was, when we lived in Portland we often walked through the park blocks to get from Portland State University area to the north end usually on our way to either Powell's Books or Multnomah County Library. Back in the day that library's card catalogs were in wooden drawers. Can't say I am happy with the Presbyterian Reformation, it is not a reformation, it is absolutely over the top aromatic. I think a more honest tin art would have included and image of Luther nailing those famous theses to the door, a famous myth but may or may not be true. I think many customers are going to pick the Reformation up thinking it will be just a 'tweaking' of the legendary mixture, obviously not the case. Keep puffin.

Hello Corey my friend! So good to see you. I did not know you studied ancient languages, is there anything you haven’t studied?!😃 The history of Christianity and church is very fascinating. As in all human matters, dominance and hunger for power finds its way everywhere. My father has studied Christianity a lot, I think you two would have a lot to talk about.
The tobacco sounds great, just like something I would like! I had no idea Presbyterian has had a sibling blend released.

    Dear Corey,
thank you for reviewing this flake, sounds intriguing, however, I don't think we can get it over here.
The history of the Reformation was taught quite extensively at school when I was a kid, I am not sure if this is still the case.
Just one question: You refer to the Catholic Church as "the Western Church". I haven't heard this use of this expression for the period of the Reformation, only for the era when the West and East Roman Empires did exist (and probably for a certain time after the fall of the West Roman Empire). Is this expression used in the US for the Catholic Church in a wider manner?
    Best greetings from Munich, Peter

Hello Peter, so good to hear from you!
Hope you're well...thanks for stopping by!
It could be that this flake will not be available in the EU...not sure why they do that.
      Ingredients?
I use the term "Western Church" simply to offset it from the other half of the church, the Eastern or Byzantine Church. The word Catholic means "universal" and that is a propaganda term used against the Eastern Church, as the Eastern uses the word Orthodox, which means "straight" or "true"....even though it was the Western Church that separated from the other four churches. There were traditionally 5 Sees: Jerusalem, Alexandria, Antioch, Constantinople, and Rome....and Rome left the other four, so technically using the term Western is being generous.
      Anyways...great question.
      Thank you my friend!
      Corey

Up to recently, religion has been the virginia of history, in the base of everything. Nowadays, with the uprise of media, I guess religion is becoming irrelevant as a mass control medium... at least in most of the world.
