- I camp out overnight in the beautiful weather and work the 10m band and cook beef pad thai. I use the whip from M1ECC antennas with radials and use the MFJ tuner unit to match the antenna to the radio.

Carl, very nice set-up a great place to play radio with great weather, a perfect combo! I like your 10 meter antenna setup also, as I am planning on working alot of 10 meters this season.

I've been able to operate in a remote area with nothing running except the radio, which was super quiet. Today, with all of the leaky electronics, urban areas are the RF equivalent of a rock concert. Great videos!

Nice video Carl. A few days back I found the bands dead too so I pulled a rabbit out of the hat and tried FT-8 for the first time. I made contacts on 40, 30, 20, 17, and 15 while they were quiet to SSB. I still prefer SSB but in a pinch any contact is a good contact.

Going to give a 132 foot long end fed antenna a go for portable use this weekend. 80 thru 10 meters on my IC-7300. I just hope it doesn’t turn out a disaster trying to get that thing into the trees.
I always was an inverted V man for portable, but the end fed caught my interest, so I decided to give it a go.... Well see what happens!

Great video Carl. 10 Meters is such a funny band in that the conditions can suddenly take you around the world one minute and leave you just listening to hiss the next. It's further complicated by the high power stations that blast their way through - not something that I compete with as an M7 and because of the cost of electricity these days ! 73 M7BLC

Hi Carl, I bought a similar jump start pack last spring. Called the Gooloo 2000. Works great. Holds a charge for a REALLY long time. I have yet to recharge it since I got it. It has 2 USB ports and a 12v cig port. Same alligator clamps as yours.

Glad you got some solar, inverter kit.
Does Victron kit create RF interferance? And would mounting the victron kit on the door stop rf if there were interferance.
