Happy Happy 75th Birthday Tammi Terrell! Girl; You were good! I wish you had had a longer life and career, but am greatful for the time you were here and the music you left behind.
How could 3 people not like this 2-sider from the GREAT MISS TAMMI TERRELL? She defined soul music for what it was: a feeling of sadness, desperate longing and loneliness from deep within one's heart! RIP TAMMI, your music will live on forever. Brookhaven John
Tammi Terrell. Singer. Period. RIP. She did so much in such a short amount of time, it's the reason her music, her voice lives on. Thank you, Keepingthefaith72 for the upload and such a beautiful accompanying video. Blessings...#keeprockin'...
I can remember dancing to this at the Shades, Northampton. Must have been around 1969 or 1970, before I joined the Army! Great days! Still listening in 2020
TT wasn't diagnosed with her brain tumor until October/November 1967 after collapsing onstage at a college date with Marvin Gaye in Virginia in October '67. These are the recording dates for her version of "This Old Heart Of Mine (Is Weak For You)": Track recorded 7/20/1967; lead and backgrounds 7/21/67; new or add'l bkgrd vox 9/6/67; strings 9/14/67. While she'd been having her headaches for quite a while, she wasn't struggling w/ debilitating effects until after the collapse & her operations.
If there is a heaven- Marvin Gaye and Tammi are jamin" in "rock and roll heaven". You guys enjoy of what happiness was denied to you on this earth. Beautiful music.
Tammi Terrell was so underrated, such a sad lost and so young and beautiful, missed so much, together with Marvin Gaye they were perfect, eat your heart out Diana Ross, RIP Tammi
I don't think She was underrated at all, just don't have a larger catalog of her music. She was easily the best female singer at Motown. Tammi was most definitely the prettiest. 💕❤️🎤
Tammi to me was Motown's best singer of all time, and beautiful to top it off. I know Motown had lots of good singers but to me this one was special. since Jr High, I grew up and dance to all her songs with Marvin as well as growing up in So. L.A
God so many good singers and Berry only was trying to hear the worst one. The worst looking one too, lol damn! nobody else at Motown got a fair chance.
Stevie wonder recorded this song which I believe he wrote or cowrote on the hotter than July album years later I love his version background vocals Jackson 5 but I prefer tammi it's a little more heartfelt
Detroit,Michigan during the 60's,,,Radio..WXYZ,WKNR,CKLW....all that magic..Motown, Belle Isle, Bob-Lo,..the music was just the fabric of the city. Block parties, cruising Woodward Ave...Elias Big Boys.....Truly golden times. Thanks for the memories....!
i bought this in 1972 at the ripe old age of 16 ... one of my all time greats and definately the best version ... just wish i could still give it justice on the dancefloor ... C A L .
Tammi and I were meant for each other...her voice, her good looks, her personality, all of these factors drew me to her, from the 1960s to the present day. I LOVE TAMMI TERRELL!
Brilliant Tammi, allowed to sing solo. love her voice so much. What a voice. If she hadn't died the Supremes would have had a new lead singer, and not diana fucking ross..
I always thought this was originally done by Stevie Wonder( wow learn something new everyday)but if i'm not mistaken the title Stevie used was All I DO and then there was the Michael Jackson, Jackson 5/Troop remake"All I DO IS THINK OF YOU" which is a totally different song

Tammi should have taken miss Ross's spot in the Supremes and with the right songs they would have been bigger then Miss Ross ever was with the Supremes!!!
@@Keepingthefaith72 Well, with Godry years schemes, was used to get out of contractual matters. Eddie Kendrick, a builder in the company's success had to sign his rights away to leave.

Legend has it that she recorded this song while she was struggling with brain cancer; maybe that's why this song is so good, u feel HER PAIN!
Such a great voice. She deserves the title of soul music queen. It brings soul to you when you listen to her. So much great music at this time.

Do Tammi estate of any receive royalties from her recordings?
Best ask who ever the copyrite holder is Jeffrey ...
@@Keepingthefaith72 Good point but realize, unlike many Motown artists that stupidly signed away their rights. She couldn't.
@@jeffreyconyers8735 I imagine the record company`s are the ones that profit Jeffery, Like they always do ..

@johnnyw12 that's a good idea. She would have made a great lead singer for the group. Shame she passed away. I'd have liked to have seen that.
Definitely The Best Female In my opinion

The men dreesed like men and women dressed like ladies. More respectful. Music meant something and wasn't demeaning.
