WOW!!!!!** This Song: "This Old Heart Of Mine" With Tammi Terrell On Vocals Sounds "Marvelous!!!!!"** She Had A "Hit" With This Song!!!!!** The Isley Brothers Version Sounds "Great," But So Does Tammi's. WOW!!!!!** KUDOS!!!!!**
It's testament to the quality of the song writers that many of Motown's great songs were recorded by multiple artists and rarely is there a poor version, a great wealth of talented singers and backing musicians obviously helped too.
April 29th: Happy birthday R&B-Soul Singer Thomasina Winfred Montgomery / Tammi Terrell (1945-1970) formember of James Brown Revue. Thank you and God bless. Tha's a singer right there. RIP Motown Royalty. Thanks for the upload, mosogotam. Blessings
This is such a great song by Tammi. It's so fitting that she had such great backup vocals and instrumentals. Thanks for letting us enjoy it a little longer!
Tammi Terrell was beautiful with superb vocals .. Motown lost a truly iconic artist. Thank you very much for this extended version. Love from London Alex X
Tammi Terrell was definitely "Irresistible." She was beautiful, happy with life, and she was an extremely talented vocalist. I love the extended version that you did with her cut of this classic. Thank you.
Fantastic mix goin' on here, my man. It doesn't get any better than The Spinners and Andantes backing up, the Funk Bros. with the legendary James Jamerson paving roads of bass grooves for players from then on thru this day, topped with the sweet, soulful singing of my hometown Philly girl Miss Tammi Terrell. Sadly, she was taken way too soon or her name might've been among the biggest to come out of Hitsville, USA. Thanks for sharing!
My goodness, what a incredible mix of this fabulous track. Very nice video to go along with your fantastic work on this. Your so right about this track having a whole lot to offer. Just as innovated today as it was back then. Loved this, Tammi was a rare beauty and vocalist. A must watch and listen google+ friends. Enjoy!
Add another AMAZIN AS ALWAYS to your collection, Mosogo/John, Thank You, for always adding the photos ( often wonder who they are; wish there was an ez way for you to do that-sorry for being selfish); so many covers of this Great HD+H tune-even D himself! Still my fave your xtended of the Isleys! Luv the Way U do The Things U do! MosogoJohn!
Excellent mix, Mosogotam, I never would have guessed that Tammi Terrell had a mix of "This Old Heart of Mine." Could you attempt to do any Jackson 5 songs such as "I Want You Back" or "ABC"
John, would you consider doing a "Fantasy" duet by Levi Stubbs & Billy Eckstine..they both recorded "Fantasy"...I always thought Levi sounded a little like Eckstine...I think if you could pull that off it would be anawesome mix. Thanks daveydee
Daveydee...thanks for your request. I had never heard the songs before...very pretty! I spent time trying to put together a remix of the 2 versions. It really didn't work. I thought it might because the back tracks are virtually the same, but the mixes are so different it it didn't allow an even sound between the 2 versions. I'm sorry. But thanks for asking! Glad you like my stuff.
Your "stuff' is amazing....too bad that couldn't work out...but I really appreciate your effort. Just keep on being the Motown Man...I have all your remixes on CD's and play them all the time, you have made Motown recordings better than they were, I love they way they are "layered" so you can see how a Motown song was put together...thanks again for your efforts John. Best to you' daveydee
