Thanks! to simplify this, you can mix and match any amps and cabs you have in your TONEX account and make presets from them. So like an amp form one tone and a cab in another tone? Just create that combination in the TONEX app, save it as a preset and flip it over to the pedal. You can mix and match whatever things you have available and create your won presets. Regarding stereo setup, does your sound guy pan your left amp output to the left side of PA and the right amp out to the right side? Reason I ask is because if both sides were mixed or summed to mono, a mix of both amps would be coming out the PA speakers and nobmatter where you sit in the audience, they would hear both amps mixed. Does it make sense? Just wondering the benefit of stereo out. Other than hearing the delay effects in stereo which i think itself is awesome. What do think?
That really depends on your sound guy. If he pans you left and right the audience would hear your stereo effects. Friends on the system and his willingness to do it. If not, you’re right.
What model speaker monitors do you use? I am so use to using an amp, and now with all these app’s and digital ways to create a guitar tone I am lost at where to start to listen to me as I play
@@rob9993 I use Yamaha HS7s. the trick is to create a listening environment to suit your needs. I record, so in the room doesn't matter to me. @@LonelyRocker I just got mine today. I figured out some stuff thanks to you. But one thing I don't get yet is the IR's. I found how to import them into the pedal, but I don't see where I can change and IR from an existing amp in the pedal. Can we do that in this pedal?
Do you know if I could use this as my amp, running into the torpedo captor x as my IR loader? Or is that even needed since I can use this as a IR loader now?
I think I confused you. It is an amp modeler. So yes, you can use it by itself as an amp with the cabs. If you have a tube amp, you can run that into your Captor X, because you still need a load, turn off the cabs in the Captor and run the output into the Tonex Pedal and use that for your cabs. But you ALWAYS need a load for a real amp. No load needed for a modeler. So no, don't run Tonex into your Captor. Hope that helps.
I actually didn't try loading stere IR files i to it. Since the amps are mono and it it's the reverb that is stereo it has a chance but MAY not work. I'll test that out. Great quesiton!
The only improve on Ir could be to import more IR at same time ( or move from explorer to window of ToneX) and use a Low and High Filter cut: so will be perfect !
I agree. Having a high pass and low pass filter would be an invaluable tool for tone shaping. Those filters are a must for tuning presets to sit in the band mix properly. The POST EQ in the pedal is good, but its needs a high and low pass filter as well.
Great, thanks. I didn't know that the bass and treble were shelves. Explains how they sound, thanks. What I like about using a low pass is to control the curve of attenuating the higher frequencies. I can usually trust the sound man setting a high pass, but I like to control my low pass curve for each preset.
@@jwright8838 Yep fully agree, but the shelf /cut thing is better than a "Q" with bell for the high and low would be nice to shape the slope but realistically not a terrible implementation.
Does it matter if you use 96khz or 44.1khz IR? I've been googling around and can't find much info about it. I know that some modellers/pedals are very fussy and it has to be the right sample rate. Others seem to be able to auto convert when importing but can't find any info on ToneX side of things?
It likely might. Since this was not designed to be a cab loader you should experiment with what works best. I’ve heard 48k is optimal but best to experiment. I don’t have an official word on this.
DynIRs are a proprietary format made by Two Notes. These IRs are captured with numerous angles with many different microphones so you can adjust the microphone position and audition different mics in the software.
