Thank you for making us aware of the existence of TLM and their important work. This is a step in the right direction. I hope someday you will be able to follow up with the ladies after their release so we can see how these classes benefit them.
I really think this lady is going to do really good things after she serves her sentence. Hopefully, there's the possibility of parole and she doesn't have to serve the entire 20 years. If a business owner in Oklahoma is watching this, hire her!
I think she's an interesting character... She's a good person; highly intelligent(emotionally and mentally)...But she's knows she suffers from "idiot compassion." (The belief that these people will change their sociopathic lives and become reformed).
@Eliza Grogan How are you a practicing Christian but going around judging people from very little information you know about them? Aren't you not supposed to judge people period? How that person was raised isn't their fault and non of your business frankly. So I hope you heal from whatever bitterness has washed over you.
@Eliza Grogan I find it funny that you read my comment incorrectly. When I said "these people" I was referring to the guy she met and his friends...NOT her. I said she had so much compassion that it became detrimental to her because she thought HE would change HIS sociopathic ways. Make sure you read the Bible correctly before you go preaching about your knowledge of being a Christian.
@Sam Lutfi And also I'm not saying what she did was acceptable but I'm saying you shouldn't be as ignorant as your comment and you should try to forgive people bc you never know what situation u might be in and you might be put in the same situation 😁😊
Sociopaths are usually charming, as long as you keep things superficial. And not to be cynical, but is teaching hardcore criminals how to code really a good idea? Do they think they’re less dangerous or more redeemable simply because they’re women? I see many white collar or dark web criminals in the making...
intoxicatingmonk - Wow! Some of these responses are absurd! She took a plea deal and when doing that you’re basically saying yes I’m guilty of whatever charges for a lesser sentence. Doesn’t mean she was actually guilty. Why would a person do such a thing?? it happens a lot especially in Oklahoma if she would’ve took it to trial and if the jurors found her guilty for just being in the room they would’ve gave her life or possibly death. She was in the room without knowing what was going to happen exactly. The motel this took place at is a dirty nasty filthy place known for pimps to take working girls to work for the night 90% of the business is from Pimps working girls and Johns other 5% is drug users and remaining are homeless or truckers. More than likely her boyfriend told her to go with him cause he was going to pick up money from one of his workers. Which was Christie aka Chalupa she was under the age of 18 or had just turned 18 she was the girl that actually lured the men to hotel. She was also the one to stab one guy and Cutters aka Martell stabbed one and strangled the other. They both were charged with the murders and received life even though prosecutors were seeking the death penalty. TT aka tocquianna was just there waiting she and Ashlee were in the room but out of fear of being killed them selves didn’t say anything and that’s why she TT got 20 years Ashlee actually received 22. So if anything those two are just guilty of witnessing a crime and not reporting it AT MOST!
Check out this video ruclips.net/video/a7UFb_ROZdY/видео.html She got 20yrs for child neglect or something along those lines cause while asleep she was woken up by her boyfriend the child’s dad saying baby wasn’t breathing then later told her he put the baby under his leg to sleep smh. She got 20yrs and he only got 10. I know a group of 5ppl between 17-19 they all got a life sentence for sitting around a camp fire (small town) smoking a blunt one evening while they were out camping. Were caught by a park ranger whom called the police. A blunt of weed no other drugs were found they took it trial and rather than taking the plea. They were charged with possession with intent to distribute. (Since the blunt was being passed around from person to person legally that’s distributing here in Oklahoma anyways). A woman was pulled over for a traffic violation license plate light was out cop said smelled like weed he found $30 bucks worth of weed and she had no criminal history and was sentenced to 12yrs ( all these were before 2017 when the drug laws changed and also before weed became legal in 2019 ) they would give you that long of weed but will allow a rapist off with a slap on the hand probation that’s the Bible state for ya smh ass backwards.
@Sam Lutfi Please don't say that. People deserve the chance to change, to get redemption. She did something terrible, but jailtime is a way of realizing that mistake and moving on.
Sam Lutfi She didn’t actually kill anybody, she was just brought into a wrong situation. She’s a mother and trying to better her life, she’s not going to hell I can tell you that
Sam Lutfi I’m not ignorant , I read into her story and found what I found, want to link me an article to this information. Often times women of color don’t get justice and they just push the cases away as soon as they can. It seems to me she is here on felony murder, meaning she didn’t murder anybody and didn’t know they were going to murder anybody but still gets sentenced accordingly to the actual murder. She should be in jail for robbery and being an accessory .
Sam Lutfi I read what I read right , she’s a human not a psychopath, she did plan a robbery, nothing more . The felony murder charge is one of the reasons America’s law system is corrupt .
@Sam Lutfi she should be on death row, instead people's tax dollars are giving her a degree. She going to complain that people don't want their hard earned money spent on crap like that. Guess what, nobody has ever paid my way for anything, we grew up poor, I had to get my GED because I had to drop out to help out. I still didn't murder anyone and use my circumstances as an excuse as to why. I call 100% bullshit on this entire thing. They should have used someone to be their trumpeter, because this one is still covered in the horseshit she has lied about the entire time she's been there.
Omg! I cried with her. She had to grow up fast being 13 years old and dropping out of school to support her family. I wish her the very best. Stay strong, Queen....
I genuinely love this lady. You never realize how privileged you are to just have basic education. Her mother is more than right, She is a living product of perseverance! Life has a weird way of throwing specific situations at people based on their ability to handle things. Of course her situation is terrible but you can tell that she’s come to terms with it and takes full accountability for it. @@marialovely7197 Sounds good, but she's living in American Justice system that spares NO one, and being a minority doesn't help her situation. The life lesson for her is to watch how you move and who you are moving with. 20 Years based on the wrong circle. SMH
Raquel Caicedo unfortunately, here in Oklahoma... it’s usually an everyone goes down for this sort of thing. They’re huge on charging everyone involved. Some instances I understand but ones like this, it’s hard to grasp.
Jen Elizabeth funny how the “justice” you see in the movies, in which the actual “bad guy” is the one charged and judged, is nothing but another fictional concept. There’s no such thing as true justice in this world
Yeah in Oklahoma everyone involved (even not actively participating I.e. whoever didn’t pull the trigger) goes down for a murder if it was committed during a felony. This case in particular happened during an strong armed robbery and they were also charged with kidnapping. I know it seems unfair but they look at it as if everyone is equally as guilty.
@Sam Lutfi Is that what happened? I didn’t research into this... I just looked up her charges and knew why she was charged and sentenced the way she was. That’s what happened? 😫
Anna You know what this teaches me I got to do much better out here. I went to college ,but I did not even take some of the Classes these woman are taking in prison😂😂
@Sam Lutfi you must be so bound up in mental and emotional pain not to understand that just because someone made some very bad and even evil decisions, that they can't change and become a better person. Just because you don't think others are worthy of forgiveness doesn't mean they aren't. I don't know a single person who hasn't done at least one horrible thing they regret. 12 years later.... You don't think she's sorry? You don't think she's changed?
Loved this. I hope plenty of people see this. I am strong believr that prison is over used... and yes ma'am you may use ALL my tax dollars to grow. I am soooooo proud of these women. Your mistakes dont define you. These women are such strong individuals and I hope they know it. Most women are in jail because of domestic violence, self defense or wrong place wrong time. They dont all belong there. Keep y'all head up.
Yes!!! I'm so glad they have done this series. Many times our society write people off when they are in a certain undesirable group. Assumptions and generalizations are made. When we hear their stories, their life, their struggles we don't do that anymore. There definitely needs to be reform in prisons, how they are set up and how they are operated. I'm so glad for these women!! Especially Ms. Culver!! Thanks Soul Pancake 👍🏽
@Cece Ruben thank you for that information. I was not lying or I should say I did not mean to put out fallacies. Thank you for this information because I do believe it is important. I still think that the prisons are messed up and do believe that we should know what these people are getting very excessive years for. I just wish prison hadn't become so politically powered and such a cash cow.... too many are serving close to life for fixable mistakes.
I'm glad to see she's talked rehabilitated and I think she'll be a productive member of society but if I can place where my tax dollars go, it will not go to support prisoners and their education. There so many deserving people young kids who don't commit crimes and are trying to get in schools and cannot afford it, kids II'm elementary middle and high schools without books and computers sorry but I don't support that
@Sam Lutfi It still goes back to she had no business being there, or using sex to lure him anyway. When she realized what was going down she should have ran from there fast as possible or snitched and called the cops immediately.
@@idk-rg3qp she's lying in this whole thing she and another girl lead a guy into this motel and then here boyfriend killed the man and they stole his money and spilt it

Oklahoma has the highest incarceration rate in the world. Number one in the USA in keeping women locked up for thirty years straight. The United States has more people in prison than any other country on earth. The land of the free.
The google search and Oklahoma records state the victim was lured into a hotel by her and a friend for sex, where her boyfriend and his brother were waiting for them, they proceeded to strangle him, beat and rob him they stabbed him and left him for dead. It was two men, two women and a witness all involved. oklahoman.com/article/3044645/2-plead-guilty-in-mans-2005-death-at-motel
💕💻 As a STEM education advocate I am so happy to see programs like these. These are truly skills that go beyond any institution and any wall. They will be able to use these skills to improve the lives of their families and create opportunities themselves as they are reintroduced to the world outside prison and help with breaking the cycle of incarceration! Love this so much! 💕💻 #stemeducation #stemforeveryone
I have my own engineering business 8 years now in Houston, Tx. I would love to hire this woman to work for our company. Everybody make mistakes in life you just have to know how to move forward in life. I had to turn my life around to was in that same position she was in and I turned my life around started my own business and have 50 employees now. So you can do it. Wish we knew how to reach out to her when she got out. But god bless her thank you 🙏...............
It’s not hard to find her information to reach out to her. Just look her up with Dept of Oklahoma Corrections. It will provide her inmate number and mailing address.
This woman is sooo strong and amazing and I‘m so proud that she is dealing with all that so strong. Her words really inspired me,even though she made a bad choice. She is so open about her life and her life right now in prison. So inspiring!!
We all make mistakes. Some bigger than others due to whatever external factors and poor decision making skills combined with unmet needs. However I don’t buy her act for a minute. Pay attention to her verbal and visual cues along with cadence and rhetoric. She’s lying through her teeth about her past, her motivations...and she’s highly narcissistic. Another negative thing about sexism is that really bad women who are just a little bit articulate (she’s cunning, but not as intelligent as she seems - again, pay close attention) can do a great deal more damage than men can if they stay under the radar and “play the game” in a socially acceptable way, including fitting all the stereotypes of a “nice girl.” Hopefully she lives a straight life without hurting anyone, but I shudder to think what she’ll do with her newfound computer skills if she hits hard times again
Damn she is so intelligent she really makes me feel so good to be a Black woman living in the USA.. i have watched this clip three times already.. stay strong you going places.. sending you love all the way from Bridgeport Connecticut..😉😉
She and her co-defendant pleaded guilty to second degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and kidnapping. She was in the motel room when the man they lured in there was killed? what part am I getting wrong here?
I love her story and her perseverance. My prayer for her as well is to go for counseling when she is set free. I sense a lot of hurt, pain, anger and let downs because of her incarceration. She has the potential to win and be a success story to so many. Wishing her all the best!
Wow, if you read this I wanted to tell you that I feel like you have a lot to say and be an encouragement to other women around you! And yes you are absolutely right forgiveness through Christ is for everyone!
I am so proud of you! We are not our mistakes. You have much to live for and inspiring so many even thru your testimony. Praying for you and your family. Hopefully, your get released soon.
I ADORE this. I’m a lead Developer - I’ve been coding since I was 6 and I had the hardest time getting through university. It’s not always easy, and these women are amazing for working so hard and stepping out of their comfort zone so much and thank you to those who run these programs to help these ladies get an education. I hope this beautiful woman finds a good placement once she’s served her sentence.
We are all rooting for you girl!! Learning that skill in any circumstance isn't easy. Her owning up to her mistakes is inspiring, but it's nuts to me that she has to be away for so long for something she was only a witness to.
TocQuianna Culver: You will be released in the name of Jesus! You won’t be serving those whole 20. You shouldn’t have served the 12 in my opinion. You can see the veins In her neck & I can hear the power in this woman’s voice. I pray for her and I will be writing this phenomenal woman! I love her deep heart and her aspect of life.... Everything happens for a reason and when I heard she dropped out of school at 13 years old to support her family to work, this is when it started to click for me and realized she needed this opportunity to learn & this is why this happened to her. God is molding this lady into the phenomenal. Understand that and when she gets out... I don’t mind her running for the next president 🇺🇸 or at least a strong woman mayor she would be the great example for a mayor!!! I love her!!! To the state of Oklahoma please release Ms.Culver! I will fight for this lady if no one else will... 2019 💕 o I pray she reads this 🌹🌹
Fred Garvin no she isn’t. She witnessed a murder. Very different. Unfortunately there’s stupid laws out there that if you were there when the murder happened you get charged the same if you actually pulled the trigger. It’s ridiculous.
@@rationallyruby If what you said was true then everyone that was driving near the Alfred Murrah building when it blew up and witnessed it would have been charged with the bombing. The reason they weren't charged is because they did not help plan and therefore participate in the death of people.

I live 45 minutes from this woman. It breaks my heart that there’s so much suffering and injustice so close to me. I’d like to visit her and try to help.
This made me cry and left me so inspired at the same time. This woman has GREATNESS written all over her. How can she still be so STRONG and upbeat after being given a 20 yr prison sentence?? If she can get through that and still have joy in her heart, WE ALL can get through whatever we're going through. Bless her. Bless us ALL. x
True. BUT, in this story, she immediately says, I MADE THE DECISION to be with him and I own that....you generally don't here that from female inmates.
Daina Williams the justice system is kinda fucked in the way that if you don’t do anything about something then you’re just as guilty as the person committing the crime.
Education and opportunity is what can really make a difference in the lives of these women. Believing that they are not "just their crime" is very important. Programs like this offer hope. Love hearing stories like this!
I'm so proud of this person right there. I am so very proud of every person there who is willing to adapt change and accept their mistake. What they're doing is not easy. Much love out there.
🏆 This woman needs to tell her story to sooo many women. This was a GREAT video and I wish happiness and success to Ms. Culver for the rest of her life.
I love it when incarcerated people make changes and start feeling good and proud of their accomplishments. I admire those who do the work and truly improve their circumstances. ❤️

This woman speaks so eloquently!!!! Her testimony will save some other young women! I hope she gets out & lives her best life!!!!

The reasons why she’s in prison sound so unfair to me
Raquel Caicedo unfortunately, here in Oklahoma... it’s usually an everyone goes down for this sort of thing.
Jen Elizabeth wow
@Sam Lutfi Is that what happened? I didn’t research into this... I just looked up her charges and knew why she was charged and sentenced the way she was. That’s what happened? 😫
i can tell this lady has a kind heart. i know once she gets out she is going to go so far in life. i hope life really works out for her.
Sam Lutfi mmmmm back at it again..
Wow she has beautiful skin - black don’t crack.
MsCicib absolutely. She’s a gorgeous woman!

Her skin is amazing! I'm white btw.

+Kayla Mckinney ❤️❤️

I have my own engineering business 8 years now in Houston, Tx. I would love to hire this woman to work for our company. Everybody make mistakes in life you just have to know how to move forward in life. This woman is sooo strong and amazing and I‘m so proud that she is dealing with all that so strong. Her words really inspired me,even though she made a bad choice. She is so open about her life and her life right now in prison.
So inspiring!!
Sam Lutfi and you’re a very opinionated person.
Another negative thing about sexism is that really bad women who are just a little bit articulate (she’s cunning, but not as intelligent as she seems - again, pay close attention) can do a great deal more damage than men can if they stay under the radar and “play the game” in a socially acceptable way, including fitting all the stereotypes of a “nice girl.”
Hopefully she lives a straight life without hurting anyone, but I shudder to think what she’ll do with her newfound computer skills if she hits hard times again
Thank you for releasing this video soulpancake. You've opened my eyes to the injustices of the us prison system

Fred Garvin no she isn’t. She witnessed a murder. Very different. Unfortunately there’s stupid laws out there that if you were there when the murder happened you get charged the same if you actually pulled the trigger. It’s ridiculous.

Why do most female inmate's sagas begin with "I met a guy?"
Desperate for love and someone to stand by their side.
True. BUT, in this story, she immediately says, I MADE THE DECISION to be with him and I own that....you generally don't here that from female inmates.
More programs like this are needed for men as well.. what a blessing. Thank you for providing these inmates an opportunity Last Mile ✨✨
Dang! 20 years for just being around a murder?
Daina Williams I am confused...
Daina Williams the justice system is kinda fucked in the way that if you don’t do anything about something then you’re just as guilty as the person committing the crime.
America is just fucked up with the jail time they give people
I think a big reason to her harsh sentence is because she is black. They didn’t do her justice and It’s common that selective racism occurs
I think it's like if you were there and didn't say anything, you're an accomplice? Not sure that's how it works. I suspect racism too.
