All the queen keep using the same traumatizing methods to raise their princesses, since it was how they were raised. The last queen come to a horrifying realization that the way she was raised was a type of abuse in one way or another, and decided to end the cycle of abuse by not having an heir and ends their bloodline once and for all.
The way I see it is: First Queen: professional and telling her daughter how it is, plain and simple Second queen: A bit sad about the current norms of the world but still teaches her daughter "that's just the way of the world. Nothing we can do" Third Queen: didn't want to settle for the current norms and wanted change, seeing how sad it made her mother. But now, she's become too aggressive with it and forces her views on her daughter. Edit: I also wanna add that she was so loved by her mother that she has quite a large ego now. Fourth Queen: Stone Cold and hardened by her mother and now she expects perfection. She sees her daughter being goofy and scolds her, probably because she was secretly jealous she was never allowed to be like that at her age. My mom was a perfectionist, my grandmother was a perfectionist, my great grandmother was a perfectionist, and so on. I grew up as a perfectionist and I still am. It got to the point that when my anxiety and depression got so bad and I was struggling with suicidal thoughts that when I asked for help my mom just said "oh that's normal" because in my family at this point, it is. I promise myself that if I even have kids of my own or adopt kids, I will not raise them to be perfectionists but rather celebrate their failures as its a way of saying that this toxic family "tradition" is finally ready to break.

i tried to make a story Edit: added extra details from the other parts Beauty always mattered in this family. Queen 1's mother died at childbirth. Her father starts becoming depressed and trying to get a better life for his daughter, forcefully marries her into the royal family. However, Queen 1, his daughter, sees it as just a scheme to make more royals. Queen 2 seems like she wanted to take a better path than her mother. However, she continued the tradition of giving her child an entire makeup sequence. She realizes that that's just how the world works, so she tries to make the world a better place. However, a crazy fan of her mother starts a rebellion and murders her suddenly. Queen 3 witnesses her death. Soon, Queen 3 corrupts and only sees the world as a social hierarchy. She raises her child as an elitist, only exposing her to the pains of the world. One day, she stares at a portrait of her mother and stabs herself in front of it; she thought it was all her fault she died. Propaganda starts saying Queen 3 was murdered by the poor just so the impoverished can get money. Queen 4 becomes an elitist and makes the wealthy more wealthy and the poor more poor. She only sees the poor as tools that just "twiddle their thumbs mindlessy". Queen 4 is then stabbed by her most loyal servant, whose family was murdered because of her evil intentions. Her "loyal" servant was also a witch, who impersonated her until the crowd realized it wasn't her. After Queen 4's death, a curse is put on the royal family which makes Queen 5 infertile unless she fixes it all. Queen 5 tries her hardest to fix all of her ancestors' mistakes but just can't. Her kingdom was in shambles after becoming a plutocratic social hierarchy. However, she is able to break the curse and bears a daughter. She doesn't care whether or not her child is "beauiful."

I hate that people seem to think that "breaking the cycle" means not having kids at all. Like, you can break the cycle by being a better person and parent to your child than your own parents were to you
I knew someone who didn't want kids, solely because his own father was "a bit of a dick" and he thought that he'd inherit his parenting somehow 🙃 while people don't need any reason to not want kids, this is a strange reason 😅 we're not carbon copies of our parents. Took em’ 5 generations of about 400 - 500 years depending on how long each queen lived (Edit) IT TOOK ME 2 MINUTES TO WRITE THIS AND IT BLEW UP *+10 points for hate💀*
The last queen/princess relationship is a similar representation is similar to the relationship between the first queen and the first princess. The first queen was obviously protective of her daughter because she saw through the worlds corrupted ways but the princess perhaps end up a little too protected and sheltered and more than likely was raised to follow the rules so she’ll always be safe. as she gets older and raises a daughter of her own, you can see her briefly consider it all when her daughter repeats back the question “that’s just the way of the world?”; however, although you can see the queen briefly consider it for a moment with a touch of emotion that can be anything from sadness with a touch of regret but she very easily brushed it off and continued to raise her the daughter the way she did. this daughter interpreted these words in way that differed from her mothers naive way, she grew to have a sense of entitlement and it is clear to see this may have made her a bit unkind. When this entitled queen has a daughter, her ways clearly negatively impact her child’s childhood and their relationship. This child grows up to be remorseful and this is where the similarities tie back to the first queen, their emotions and expression give you similar feelings and they clearly want both of their daughters (the first princess and the last princess) to know the truth of the world. While this made the second princess naive and a little, for lack of better words, weak-minded, this truth had a different impact on the last princess. she could see how the “ways of the world” had negatively impacted her mom (the red remorseful queen who had the entitled queen as a mother) and it made her really question everything and you can tell she did not agree or want to quietly adhere to these ways of the world. the lack of a princess at the end leaves it open to multiple possibilities, perhaps she decided to not have a daughter at all in an effort to contest to the ways of the world or perhaps she does have a daughter but does something completely different that really impacts the ways of the world, perhaps for the better. or anything else that may be thought of by different minds with different ways of thinking, as someone who reads a lot you really know the possibility are endless

Hey this is my version of the story, tell me what you think ! And sorry I am not English so I tried my best to translate. The first queen has interiorised the rules and she tells it to her daugther. The second queen thinks it's normal so she try to look happy and to tell it to her daugther. The third queen is rude because she had expect something amazing but she realiazed it was fake and she don't wanted to give those fake expectations to her daugther. Because of her hard childhood, the fourth queen has no relation with her daugther because she don't know how it matters for a kid. So finally, the little princess who was lost and looking for attention decided to stop what makes her life so sad.

My mom was a perfectionist, my grandmother was a perfectionist, my great grandmother was a perfectionist, and so on. I grew up as a perfectionist and I still am. It got to the point that when my anxiety and depression got so bad and I was struggling with suicidal thoughts that when I asked for help my mom just said "oh that's normal" because in my family at this point, it is. Beauty always mattered in this family.
Queen 1's mother died at childbirth. Her father starts becoming depressed and trying to get a better life for his daughter, forcefully marries her into the royal family. However, Queen 1, his daughter, sees it as just a scheme to make more royals.
Queen 2 seems like she wanted to take a better path than her mother. However, she continued the tradition of giving her child an entire makeup sequence. She realizes that that's just how the world works, so she tries to make the world a better place. However, a crazy fan of her mother starts a rebellion and murders her suddenly.
Queen 3 witnesses her death. Soon, Queen 3 corrupts and only sees the world as a social hierarchy. She raises her child as an elitist, only exposing her to the pains of the world. One day, she stares at a portrait of her mother and stabs herself in front of it; she thought it was all her fault she died.
Propaganda starts saying Queen 3 was murdered by the poor just so the impoverished can get money. Queen 4 becomes an elitist and makes the wealthy more wealthy and the poor more poor. She only sees the poor as tools that just "twiddle their thumbs mindlessy". Queen 4 is then stabbed by her most loyal servant, whose family was murdered because of her evil intentions. Her "loyal" servant was also a witch, who impersonated her until the crowd realized it wasn't her.
After Queen 4's death, a curse is put on the royal family which makes Queen 5 infertile unless she fixes it all. Queen 5 tries her hardest to fix all of her ancestors' mistakes but just can't. Her kingdom was in shambles after becoming a plutocratic social hierarchy. However, she is able to break the curse and bears a daughter. She doesn't care whether or not her child is "beauiful."

it’s like every new queen represents a decade;
1st queen (the 1920s): became queen out of marriage, simply upholds her duties as queen and teaches her daughter the same.
2nd queen (the 1940s): settles into queenly life and conforms herself to being happy with just a “suburban lifestyle”.
3rd queen (the 1960s): starts to get tired of the “way of the world” and makes the queen’s role more important by getting into kingdom politics as well as putting a lot of pressure on the princess to not let the newfound power slip through her fingers when it’s her turn
4th queen (the 1980s): doesn’t really care about politics but has a much more prominent role in the kingdom. only teaches the same things bc she thinks it’s the way things are and even gets angry when her daughter doesn’t seem to want to fall in line like she did.
5th queen (gen z): is confused by her role since she saw that politics and power never made her mother happy but child rearing scares her bc she doesn’t want to regress into the old ways of the first few queens. attempts to find herself outside the self contained system of the kingdom.

I hate that people seem to think that "breaking the cycle" means not having kids at all. Like, you can break the cycle by being a better person and parent to your child than your own parents were to you
I knew someone who didn't want kids, solely because his own father was "a bit of a dick" and he thought that he'd inherit his parenting somehow 🙃 while people don't need any reason to not want kids, this is a strange reason 😅 we're not carbon copies of our parents. We can do better, we just have to want to!

I feel like everyone should feel the joy that comes with a new life but if they aren’t in a financial or mental place we’re they want to do that that is fine.
It is not as simple as that. Especially when the whole big family from both side are also broken and so messed up. I know for sure I didn't desire to bring another life to make them suffer with my scars & exposed to the messed up aunt/uncle, grandparents & greatgrandparents. You can hate but you can't push your ideals to other people because you didn't fully know what happened in their life to made them do not want to have children.
It's ok to not have kids and it needs to be more socially accepted so I see nothing wrong with this

The last queen/princess relationship is a similar representation is similar to the relationship between the first queen and the first princess. The first queen was obviously protective of her daughter because she saw through the worlds corrupted ways but the princess perhaps end up a little too protected and sheltered and more than likely was raised to follow the rules so she’ll always be safe. as she gets older and raises a daughter of her own, you can see her briefly consider it all when her daughter repeats back the question “that’s just the way of the world?”; however, although you can see the queen briefly consider it for a moment with a touch of emotion that can be anything from sadness with a touch of regret but she very easily brushed it off and continued to raise her the daughter the way she did. this daughter interpreted these words in way that differed from her mothers naive way, she grew to have a sense of entitlement and it is clear to see this may have made her a bit unkind. When this entitled queen has a daughter, her ways clearly negatively impact her child’s childhood and their relationship. This child grows up to be remorseful and this is where the similarities tie back to the first queen, their emotions and expression give you similar feelings and they clearly want both of their daughters (the first princess and the last princess) to know the truth of the world. While this made the second princess naive and a little, for lack of better words, weak-minded, this truth had a different impact on the last princess. she could see how the “ways of the world” had negatively impacted her mom (the red remorseful queen who had the entitled queen as a mother) and it made her really question everything and you can tell she did not agree or want to quietly adhere to these ways of the world. the lack of a princess at the end leaves it open to multiple possibilities, perhaps she decided to not have a daughter at all in an effort to contest to the ways of the world or perhaps she does have a daughter but does something completely different that really impacts the ways of the world, perhaps for the better. or anything else that may be thought of by different minds with different ways of thinking, as someone who reads a lot you really know the possibility are endless

The first queen has interiorised the rules and she tells it to her daugther.
The second queen thinks it's normal so she try to look happy and to tell it to her daugther.
The third queen is rude because she had expect something amazing but she realiazed it was fake and she don't wanted to give those fake expectations to her daugther.
Because of her hard childhood, the fourth queen has no relation with her daugther because she don't know how it matters for a kid.
So finally, the little princess who was lost and looking for attention decided to stop what makes her life so sad.

I think that shows a different message though.
What I got from this was that each Princess was raised with the same behaviors. If you put a Prince in as the last then it shows boys and girls being raised differently, and not that she's breaking the cycle of abuse.
