To be fair, that MOSTLY happens if you're dumb enough to try crossing the Plains at night. The game literally spawns extra packs of Fulings out of thin air at night, it's awful.
I was shocked when replaying the game that abominations even existed.......and while running from it ended up catching a troll. It blew my mind that the troll won their fight. This game is already amazing, excited for it's future.
Oh nice! I’ve been working on trying to get footage of that, but some other mob always jumps in and ruins it. I’m surprised to hear the troll won though. Did it have a log, do you recall?
@@gamestar.nation i was about to say! I had an experience where a logged troll went at it and it barely dented it which got its ass kicked. I was very surprised to see that.
@@noahmellemstrand4756 ok, so you saw a logged troll get owned by the abomination. I'm pretty sure the abom is resistant to blunt damage so maybe logged troll isn't the best troll for it. hmm... 🤔
The Swamp biome is actually two levels below the Plains biome, despite them often being found around the same areas at the same time. The next actual tier of biome above the Swamp biome is the Mountain biome, hence why there is such a power gap between the Swamp biome and the Plains biome.
Maybe it´s just me but Mountains was the easiest for me aside from Meadows when you first go in with the Gear of the previous. Bronze for Swamp, Iron for Mountain, Silver for Plains. Wolves and Drakes are both pretty squishy and max 3-4 while Fulings seem to aggro the entire Village if you attack one.
Mountains are easy once you get a handle on it, but if you're only used to fighting the stuff from Meadows and BF (Trolls, Skeletons, and GD Brutes being your biggest threats) then the Mountains are a nightmare. Even if you've been through the swamp a bit, you really gotta train up your own reaction time and block skill, because the wolves are built around speed, and they WILL mess you up if you aren't looking.
@John Smith it's the wolves that are scary, though. Good to handle when prepared, really awful if caught slightly off guard. They definitely have the supreme AI in the game. They outrun you and just keep attacking relentlessly until either they or you die.
Haven’t cheated yet. I actually kited a stone golem into the plains but it got taken out by a fuling and a deathmosquito before it was all the way out of the snow. I’m gonna have to rethink it…
I feel this is a good example of the power increase from swamp to plains. I'd love to see how fast it would go down against a whole fuling camp, or at least a bigger group of fulings in general

When I get a chance, I'll look for the full clip again and upload it to my "raw Footage" playlist so you can see the whole thing, assuming I still have it.
First time I met an abomination I didn't even read the updates so was in for a surprise. Watching that thing crawl OUT of the ground like I broke a glass in the kitchen and waked up mama.
Haha! 😂 I can only imagine. Yea, it freaked me out too. I ended up building a long bridge across a river from a black forest to the swamps (which was a project on it's own). Then I'd run across the bridge towards the abomination, shoot at it with a fire arrow and then sprint away like a coward as soon as it would turn my way. He'd chase me across the river until it got too deep. Then, he would stop and stare off into space before turning back and heading towards the swamp. As soon as he headed back, I'd turn around and run back to start the whole thing over again. It probably took me 30 min to kill it like that.
Once lured a slightly wounded Abomination into a fight with a troll. Just stood back and watched, trying to decide which one would win. The troll won. It turned his back on me. Then one shot killed the troll with a bow attack. It was glorious!
A Lox can, and will, kill everything in this game. But I a now curious about how well an Abomination would do against a Fuling patrol, or a small camp.
Well don't feel alone. It seems there's a bunch of people here that have never seen one. I'm actually working on a video covering the abom since it's new to so many people. What do you think about it based on what you've seen?
I have. And I did NOT f*ck with it. Not yet, anyway. It erupted spectacularly from the ground, but by the time it had fully emerged, I was already gone. I've taken extra care to make sure I wasn't anywhere near it when looking for turnips. It isn't like the trolls, which will take a break to sniff the air and nibble at things it found on the ground. It does a PATROL, constantly on the lookout for something to kill.

Also, holding it's own against packs of Fulings is impressive, although I do wonder how long it would last if you could find a Fuling Camp/Village close enough to a Swamp to drag one into.
