I just love my Nikon Z5. I do mostly portrait photography and the image quality is identical to my Nikon Z6. I actually think the auto focus is better on my Z5 and I have the newest firmware on my Z6. Regardless I bought it to have peace of mind when I do weddings with the second card slot and the Z5 has not let me down in the least bit. I just bought the sigma 105 mm F1.4 art lines and adaptive it to my Z5 it is my favorite set up I have ever used. If you don’t do that much video or sports photography or wildlife the Z5 Will blow you away with the image results. Great video not enough videos about the Z5. This is labeled a beginner camera with professional results
@@johndavolta3124 yes are used the F mount lens from sigma. It worked great. You could though I don’t shoot with Nikon anymore. It was still a great combination. Don’t let people tell you you can’t get great results using adaptive lenses. They don’t always have to be z mount lenses. I started my business with F mount lenses adapted to my z6 and z5. I only bought the 50 and 85 f1.8 s lenses. And I adapted F mount lenses with the rest of my lenses I already had.
Great review. I'm hoping to do some motorsport photography next year (just for hobby) and this camera was recommended to me. While 4.5fps might not be the greatest, I'm honestly sold on this camera. Sounds like you get everything you need and I have no idea about photography 😅
I just bought the Nikon Z5 with kit lens. Nikon really needs to promote this camera more in 2022 as an affordable option, as opposed to buying a high end aps-c as the low light advantage of FF over smaller sensor is worth going FF. Unless someone has the funds for a Z6ii, I would recommend the Z5 which carries about 90 percent of the same features and the NIkon image quality looks to be on par around the popular D750 level in photos in a smaller Z5.
Disagree. Nikon doesn't have any high end APS-C Mirrorless cameras, not like Sony's A6700 or Canon's R7. The Z50 is 4 years old now and the Zfc / Z30 aren't high end. This is the affordable Nikon FX option, and they should release an IBIS, HDR, APS-C camera

Im looking to get in to dslr/mirrorless world, never had other than phones and some compact cameras a higher level camera experience. 1: Would you recommend the Z5 as a begginers camera (i would want to go a lot cheaper to something like canon r100 or r50, but the samples i see look dissapointing) 2: Is there a point to get 2 different lenses i.e one 24-50mm and one 70-200mm or i could go straight to the 24-200mm Z lens? Do you lose image quality/stability issues/focus and so on? Im planning to use the camera mostly at trips and for landscape photography. Carrying one big lens instead of lets say 2 smaller ones shouldn't be a problem for me. I'm trying to get the most vfm option which will forgive begginer mistakes and give me good results without a whole lot of editing. Ty in advance!!
How does this camera do in lowlight situations and continuous dancing portraits ? Cause I shoot for college events where the students dance and vibe mostly in the night

I bought the Z5 along with the excellent 24-200 kit option. I'm very satisfied with it, but I'm keeping my D7200 and the embarrassing amount of lenses I've bought for it. There's nothing like a long walk to a place I've never been before with my D7200 and Tamron 18-400 lens. Almost any composition with impressive quality.
The Z5 is close in level as the D750. The Z6ii is a bit closer. The FTZ adapter works with most Nikon brand F mount lenses that have a built in focus motor. And with most third party lenses with a built in focus motor. It does not work with The Nikon AF-d lenses as those do not have a built in focus motor.
Unfortunately, the lenses from the Nikon D3200 will not work on the Nikon Z5. The Nikon D3200 has a Nikon F-mount, and the newer mirrorless Nikon cameras has a Z-mount. You will have to get new lenses, or use a Nikon F-mount to Z-mount adapter.

Hi, considering the lower price tag, do you recommend the Z5 over the Z6? If choosing a Z6 for my next camera, which accessories you recommend to choose? I am interested in a 24-70 f/2.8 lens. Sigma Art seems to be a great option for me as the Nikkor Z lens is much more expensive. However, with the FTZ mount it will be larger....
The Z5 is going to have better battery life, Eye autofocus and dual UHS-II card slots over the Z6. If those features are most important to you, then the Z5 is the way to go. It would definitely pair well with a Nikon Z5 and the FTZ, if you can get pass the added weight.

It's an entry level body, so it makes sense. I'd rather choose that a camera manufacturer gets the basics right, than sell me a camera with bells & whistles, but poor AF, sensor performance and a cheaply made body

When the pancakes 28mm & 40mm comes out for the Zmount this will be a fantastic combo for casual photography!! Alongside this small 24-50mm zoom

Unfortunately, the lenses from the Nikon D3200 will not work on the Nikon Z5. The Nikon D3200 has a Nikon F-mount, and the newer mirrorless Nikon cameras has a Z-mount. You will have to get new lenses, or use a Nikon F-mount to Z-mount adapter.
