I just wanted to comment on the Praxis since I didn't see anything in reference to it unless I'm just blind. The reason the station repairs are so cheap is because the Praxis and Gnosis are designed to be new player "entry" ships. If you notice on both of them the skill requirements are hilarious. Players can jump in them immediately. Also why they're "jack of all trades". That way any race can fly them with any skill spec right out the gate. In return that's why the cost are so low. New players run maybe 5m after doing starter missions. Love the vids, love the information! Keep up the great work and fly safe

Thanks for the input. the repair cost are factored off the production materials which is nothing as they cant be built. Yes they are good ships, they do lack any tank / application bonuses but they are the entry level battleship for sure, and the only one an alpha should even think of o7

I used to run missions solo with a shield tanked Maelstrom and used a MWD to manage damage. Once I got my indy alt trained up for combat a bit, I used 2 armor tanked Praxis with remote armor rep fits to run 4's for quite a while. Now I've got my main guy into a Vargur marauder and my indy guy follows behind in a Noctis because the Vargur is such a beast.

I love your videos. Very clear and very interesting.
The part of designing a plan and executing it is what makes PvE interesting. It's like solving a puzzle. Recently the most satisfying PvE I've done is a combat site with ship restrictions in which someone had spawn everything. Landing spot is right in the middle of the rats, almost lost my cerberus (wrecks of a couple of other players you lost their ships in the trap before me btw). Barely made out thanks to a fit capable of getting rid of pointing frigs fast. Tried a couple of fit adjustements, to no avail. Webs + DPS was hard to tank even crancking up resistances.
Then I remembered I had a oracle around since the times my corp being wardec'ed and we bashing pocos (a single use ship). The oracle could shake the damage off due to large buffer for long enough to microjump away. Beam lasers made short work of the rats (sansha space) from 100km away. That's how I used to do L4's in my rattlesnake.
I think your videos are useful for both newbros and guys like who who stopped playing in 2017 and recently came back (game is quite different today).

Alright. Tried a few fittings (fitting window), and I'm definitely be going with the Rapid Heavy Missiles as you do. Love the DPS and range. I'll go a bit more tanky: no tracking computer or target painter, and only one multispectrum shield hardener, the rest would be 3x large and 2x medium shield extender II for a total of 102k ehp. Low slots are the same and rigs 3x Large Core Defense Field Extender I. And regular Ogre and Hammerhead. I have my buy orders for the missing modules. Can't wait!
And I could switch the multispectrum shield hardener for an EM, Thermal or Kinetic shield hardener depending on the mission.

Never really realised that the SoCT ships have balanced resistances. I only had them placed as jack-of-all-trades with regard to weapons. Nice to learn somthing new each day.
Personally, I'm a frequent lvl-4 mission runner and do it more or less as a relaxing activity after work. But I definetly prefer active tanked ships compared to your buffer-tank kiting ships (e.g. sitting there in the middle of the debris ring in "Attack of the Drones" and triggering & killing each spawn seperately while the repair module takes care of the incoming damage). I also almost exclusively use Gallente drones as their damage is - even taking the slightly higher thermal damage resisntances of some NPCs' into account - still better due to their inherent higher damage mutiplier (only exception are some missions against Angel and Minmatar ships where I use Minmatar drones).
IGN Iri'yana (Maller > Rupture) ... but you can put me at the end of the list, as I've already won last time.

I got my standings for L4 with Caldari Navy earlier this week, and I should have HAM alpha trained to Specialisation 3 in about 7 days. So I should be good to do them next week most probably. I already have the Praxis, so my fit may very well look like yours. I'm more a turret user so far, so I'll probably start with L3s just to get use to the mechanic of missiles (fire rate, reload time, time from launch to hit, etc.).
Reward wise, I'm already comfortable with L3s (seems to be half of what you get on the L4 here), so if I can run them in relatively the same amount of time, I'll be very happy. The bounties are usually great as well on L3s, doubling if not tripling the mission isk rewards (pirates and mercenaries only, not against empire navies) and the loot estimated amount can go as high as 8 millions from what I've experience so far (my best loot are usually against empire navies). I can imagine the bounties and loot against battleship will be very good as well.
The LP reward I see at the end of your video, I can't wait to get that much per mission! Will definitely save up for that Drake Navy Issue :)
Finally, (sorry for the long post) I didn't detailed it on the comment of the previous video, but like I said, I usually use the MTU after the site is cleared, and while waiting for the MTU to do its job while babysitting it, I usually have a high slot equiped with a Salvager 1 and salvage the wrecks. Most of the time, I'm done salvaging a few salvage cycles after the MTU is done doing its thing. The estimated amount can also go in the millions there as well (salvage is best against drones wrecks). Considering my main account (industrialist) is manufacturing some shield rigs, I find it both helpfull and lucrative to salvage. But again, like I said, I'm not in a rush and I'm fine taking the time to clean every bit of a site. More efficient people could go and multibox that part however.
Pushing my luck. Considering the beautiful Maller skin: (def won't go on the market)

Even Security Connections, which I was able to save up the 15kLP for the skill book and train it yesterday (first thing I bought with the LP). This toon is in Omega state at the moment and will be until October, but I try to limit to the skills of an alpha can train. This is why I use the term "alpha trained" in some of my comments. I bought some Omega time to go passed the limit of 5M SP for the skill queue, though apparently there are up to 20M SP an alpha can train. And also because I really wanted to do some pew pew and my main (Omega) being an industrialist, combat skills weren't a priority (but it will get there eventually). May i ask why don't you use an active tank? I remember doing this mission in active tank raven and had no problems tanking the rats. Granted i was an alpah clone not to long ago. Any bs with xl booster & shield hardners will do the job.

    • @daddex9222
      @daddex9222  3 года назад

I did the last missions in an active tank Raven, i found it way over tanked and very dull to use. Turning your hull into a battery compromises DPS a lot too. I did explain my thinking in the vid at various points, 2.50 is the first, same reason I used a Praxis and not a Faction BS. If I hadn't deliberately spawned the whole room it would have been fine too. I like to encourage players to push themselves and their fits, and actually pilot their ships. if you can't handle your Praxis taking a beating and keep it alive an Alpha is never gonna get through an Angels 5/10, and what are you gonna do the first time you get put into hull but still need to stay focused?! I mostly fly in low sec where fits will often not be optimised for a site because of the additional local hazards, but the site get done anyway. I also know how much more ISK i could be making there in a 10 mil dessie so these missions really are threat free light relief for me. Check the killboards to see how quickly those active tank fits die when they get caught xD

@@daddex9222 I used passive fit drake/raven in L3 missons in the past. its didnt go so well with passive fits for me
      dps isnt everything to me.
having to warp away in order to not die and lose you're ship slow you down in process of completing a misson. having more dps is nice not gonna lie but its not everything unless you're sucide ganking.
I learned that active tanked fits are better . having a buffer/passive cant face tank stuff.sometimes you're webbed/scramed so you can't really run away until you kill the frigs that web/scram you and that take time .
you need to kite inorder to reduce the incoming dps in order to tank stuff. I had to in l3 missons with a drake.
this misson doesnt have such high dps .I'm pretty sure i faced tanked some of the damage. I know some pepople like diffrent play style I respect that.
maybe you can have better passive tank with 3 large purgers 2. tbh i never had max passive regen bs .I just had buffer tank drake/raven. you had 20 hp/s that nothing in term of regen. I guess you find it more fun this way to run missons.I watch you're raven/dni videos and other vids.
with my small experince with l4 missons . like 30-20 or so. some misson can have warp gate that send you in the middle of ton of bs/bc all attacking you. having passive tank mean you melt even faster than i do. i myself dont have good enough skills to run all the L4 misson i please due the lack of tank . I pick one i know can tank easily.
with buffer tank you cant last long if you take damage .the rats will wear you'r buffer down.
The point you have to have regen. pretty sure you know it. even with regen you have to pilot in some misson inorder to not die due to really high dps.unless you have active boss tank maruder/rattlesnake.
I myself had to kite even with active tank due to high dps due to my crappy skills in some missons.

Active tank is still most popular with a lot of PVE and most mission runners, but a good active tank means less something else..... as I said in the vid i wasn't using 'that standard active tank fit' simply because it is dull, my Praxis does other stuff in other places and I also think players should get used to dealing with things getting a bit hectic in this kind of safe environment rather than 'for real' in low sec etc.

The only reason to make a fit passive is neut pressure and there is not a single lvl 4 mission that exerts heavy neut pressure. Second: if you passive fit something Purger rigs are a must. The fit shown in the video only tanks ~70 ehp/s against em the highest resist, just changing the rigs to t1 purgers increases tank to 83 ehp/ against all damage types. I hate to be that guy but passive tank did the job and I made it clear the fit was not that kind of fit. Part of the point of my vids is that you do not need to min/max to do stuff, especially if you are not stuck in a rut. Also, knowing how to deal with your ship taking a beating is a very important skill. You go low sec in that fit and get neuted to death... the passive fit is way more flexible. Your fit is sound, it is just another option though xD

@@daddex9222 Sure a skiff with enough time would get the mission done too but that is not really the point. The video showed that your fit can do the mission obviously. My point was that the fit is bad. You can ofc fit your ships howerver you like but i was just pointing out to any new player that maybe wants to copy this fit why there are better options. And regarding lowsec if you apply 30 gj/s neut pressure to both fits they take exactly the same time to dry out. Since you run invulns for resists you will die at that point aswell so it isnt even superior in that regard.

Might I ask why the Cap Control Circuits? Is it to make the ship stable with the MWD on? is that necessary? Edit: Nevermind I had a medium booster equipped, whoops.

@@DragonMagi Cccs are sort of the default for active mission ships. Id like to mention that the fit is still not amazing and if you are new to missions you probably want to fit more tank for safety. Rapid heavies already apply quite well so you can probably drop the painter and guidance computer for more tank. Replacing one damage mod in the lows with a damage control gives your more timer to warp off wen shit hits the fan.

@@Thisone95 Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely still learning to fly it but it seems to work alright. I use the tank to pull range and then blast away at around 65km. I replaced one of the cccs with a processor overclock so I could fit a drone link aug and upgraded another one to t2. It's not stable anymore but it lasts almost and hour, which is fine since I don't have the booster on all the time anyway.

I like l4 missions. I do them for the faction mods. I go on the basis that every 10000 lp spent should give me 10 mil profit or greater.
