    When I did my first solo, my instructor had to tell me to put my hands up, as I rounded out a few feet early, but pulled the brakes down a couple of times, then landed OK. This was with an Ok ozone mojo pwr 2, and a Bulldog frame with Atom 80

    Nice Video! As a newly trained pilot and gear finally arriving this month, landing is what I'm most concerned about. This was a very nice refresher. Thank you

    Thanks for sharing. Watching several landings is helping me to really get it in my head to do the process correctly with my trainer.

    Thanks again Matt! I remember the single most important tip you gave me during training was to lean forward. Feel free to use footage of my first 'landings' as the gag reel! :D

    I've been watching paramotor videos for a long time and MPP's videos have been hidden from me all this time. With how useful and well-explained their info is, they should have more than 700 subscribers. Thank you guys.

    Nice video, thanks for sharing! I find myself "getting it" then earning a "two cheek" landing on more occasions than I care to admit. Always learning!

    Nice. That 2nd tip got me a couple of times. Not leaning forward caused me to end up on my knees because I was worried about damaging the prop so if I was leaning back too much I'd collapse my knees and fall forward. One more good tip is to have your legs/feet staggered one in front of the other (ready to run it off) rather than side by side.

    Nice job...great tips. Something very important to me is to NOT look down at the ground where you are going to touch down, but to keep your eyes up and watch the ground well ahead of you.

      I had a list of tips to include and eye focus was on my short list. If I see a pilot consistently flaring too high above the ground, the first thing I look to fix is where they are looking, usually down at their feet.

    Lean forward ., create an air gap between your back and the harness.
    Wouldn’t that require a loose shoulder harness strap adjustment ?

    I know you say to lean forward, but one time my right shoulder hit the trimmer release and suddenly I was turning hard left because the right side of the wing was flying much faster than the left. It was a dirty hard landing. I mention it as a precaution. People should look to see if this is a possibility in their rig. I no longer lean that far forward with my shoulders.

    • @midwestpoweredparagliding2706
      @midwestpoweredparagliding2706  4 года назад

      Interesting, my trim tabs are pretty far from my shoulders. What frame and wing?

    • @JohnHansknecht
      @JohnHansknecht 4 года назад

      @@midwestpoweredparagliding2706 A Skymax Expedition and MacPara Charger. I'm 6 feet tall and I know my arms were high in the air at the moment. My trim buckles are right at the top of my shoulder. Still not exactly sure how it happened but it was a rapid release of one trim right at landing.

    How about tips for landing single skin gliders that don't have much flare authority?
    They are the best for nil wind launches but my Independence Tensing has poor flare authority in all landing situations except high wind.
    It's either a swoop approach to build energy or power-on landing techniques that I've developed.
    What say you?

    I have 8 solo skydiving jumps. I stood up my very first landing which made me feel like a badass haha. Unfortunately it went down hill from there. I stood up 3 out of the 8 landings I think. Is it easier to land a paramotor wing vs a skydiving canopy?
