Bonjour Selma, I love your youtube channel, you make me want to knit sweaters and the pattern you are showing are so very lovely. thank you for sharing your visit to Montreal , it is my natal city so was really nice to watch you shop :) take care and looking foward to your next youtube video merci pour tout, j'aime beaucoup te regarder
I’m behind in watching your podcast. This was fun! The fun part will be watching the next episode to see if the WIP’s are more FO’s. 😊 thank you for the tour in Montreal. What will power to touch and drool all over the yarns and then not make any purchases! But I completely understand, my stash is out of control. 😊 StitchedbyMimi
Selma your blue shaded vest looks lovely with your eyes stunning!!! The pair of socks ❤ the colours are so nice as well as the laced hat!!! I ❤❤❤ your new pink sweater Anxious to see your test knit done …lovely yarn As always I enjoyed your podcast on this Sunday morning ❤ Have a great week Selma!! 😊🥰
Oh my goodness what an awesome video to watch. I only recently discovered you. I slowed the speed to look at the beautiful yarns several times. At 78 my knitting skills are very limited. I have located two yarn shops not far from me. I will be working on my knitting in order to make some of the beautiful items you have shown. Thank you so very much.
I love you slipover the blue really draws your attention to your blue eyes and you look awesome in it. Thanks for the look around the shops in Montreal. Very beautiful. 😁
Hi Selma! I have knit socks with Kroy for years. It is very hardy and definitely makes a thicker sock. I usually would knit a sock with 56 stitches and 2.25mm needles (I have a very narrow foot) but with Kroy I go down to 48 stitches and a 2.75mm needles to get a good fit. I would definitely suggest fewer stitches and bigger needles with this yarn. Once you find a good recipe I am sure you will enjoy using it. Makes for a warm sock that lasts for years. Some of mine might be as old as 15 years now. Thanks for another wonderful episode. Your blue vest looks lovely on you.
Selma, I love your knitting but stopped watching all channels when my husband died last September. Just getting my mojo back and you are so inspiring ❤️Sue UK
I’m so sorry to hear about your husband 😢I don’t know you personally but when I read your comment I felt I needed to reach out ..sending a virtual hug 🤗
Selma, I love your blue vest!! The length is perfect. You look so cool-hip in that length! It is a fresh and living color on your coloring. Love it!❤❤Thank you for sharing your works.
Currently knitting a Salty Air Tee, and my Weekender Crew by Andrea Mowry is blocking. I had knit and pulled back a very significant amount of the Weekender as I felt my original chosen size was over large, feeling that I shall be happy with next size down, given that it is a dropped shoulder design!🤞🤞Happy knitting and sewing 🧵
❤thanks selma!!!!always great to catch up with you!!! 🎉loved the 2 yarn shops!!!!wow what lovely yarns!!! Love ur slipover on you!!!such a lovely color!!!!! Kroy is definitely thicker!!!than most sock yarns !!!most of it anyway !!i find!!! I now treat it like a DK snd use 3mm needles and 48 sts for my. Size!!!! Works great!!!! Elaine 🏠💕
Thanks for the Kroy details! That is helpful!! So glad you enjoyed the episode and let me thank you for your lovely comments that you leave every time 🥰😘🥰
Loved this Thelma . Thank you. My Stockholm slipover is great but a bit big around the armholes. You've made me think.i should rip out the ribbing and reknit. But it's black 😢😢. Love love love les Garçons . I was lucky enough to meet them at unravel in England a few weeks ago. So nice to see their shop. Thank you for sharing that too. X
Bonjour Un moment agréable en regardant ces jolis modèles présentés et tricotés J’ai apprécié la visite des deux boutiques de laines ,merci À bientôt Patricia
I love finding a pattern that perfectly fits my style and fits perfectly. I love the fit and versatility of the Rock-It Tee. The v-neck style suits me and using some knitting math I have used different yarn weights, different sleeves and different body lengths. I think having that go to pattern is a great benefit to your wardrobe. I love the new blue vest.
Thanks Selma, GREAT episode..that blue vest is stunning on you. All the colours you choose look lovely on you.Thank you for taking us on the yarn store tours. I will never get there in my lifetime so thank you for that❤ 🥰🇨🇦Sharon.
Thank you for a fabulous episode, Selma. Love your slip over, Im inspired. Love everything actually, and really enjoyed going to Montreal with you, so thank you for that :)
Always enjoy your vlogs Selma. Love the patterns you showed towards the end especially the slipover. Think that one has to go on my ever growing to knit list. Great visit Montreal with you and those beautiful yarn stores…wish I lived closer! Best wishes to you❤
I love your new blue vest! It accentuates your eyes. That pink fluffy sweater is so pretty. Any project I want to see completed. Montreal looks like a fascinating city. I hope to visit one day and the yarn stores.
Selma, yet another lovely episode - thanks. Kroy socks I find work out nicely on 2.5 mm or even 2.75. That lovely block printed fabric from India is lovely and I recommend you dry it in the dryer after wash so that it shrinks however much (I lived in India and sewed a lot of garments with their beautiful textiles). I immediately thought that you would suit a spring/summer skirt in the gipsy or bohemian hippy style - two or three tiers and an elastic waist etc.
Thanks so much for the Montreal tour .. interesting buildings with those stairs on the "outside" of the building to reach the 2 store. Love your Isager buy 😍. And of course .. love the blue vest too 😊 take care, XD
I have found using the Kroy that I had to decrease to 56 stitches using a 2.5 needle. I wear a size 8.5 shoe and have a narrow foot. I think the density of the fabric will make a long wearing sock. Hope that helps you. I always enjoy your videos. The test tee in the silk is lovely.
Thank you for another informative and enjoyable episode. I always learn something from you. Your blue slipover is the perfect color for you. Patons Kroy is my favorite sock yarn. I wear my socks knit from Patons everyday in my farm boots and they hold up exceptionally well.
Your vest is indeed the perfect blue for you. I have been watching @mostly knitting Tash is making the late bloomer in white with a gradient of pinks and the small motif is in hot pink. So many great colour choices for this one. I look forward to seeing yours.
Great vlog. Just subscribed today. Beautiful knitting projects loved the hats. Blue sweater looks lovely on you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🌸💕💐💐
Great to catch you again!! Love that you make the same pattern multiple times and you love your vests. That new vest pattern was very cute too!! Will go look it up 💚
The color of your slipover is perfect, it suits your eyes so, so well. I quite see the Indian fabric becoming a dress, just imagine a fine lace shawl to complement it ...
Thank you so much for your podcast. Biscottes yarn will be opening a shop in Gatineau at the end of may or in June. I was watching their pod cast when they gave the viewers that information. Have a nice day
I've been knitting while watching your podcast episode. I'm a huge fan of the spectacular blue color of your vest. Your slow sweater with Nutiden has given me an idea!!!" Muchas gracias y hasta el proximo episodio
Thank you for this podcast, very interesting as always. I used the Kroy Fx a few years ago, checked back in my Ravelry projects, and saw that I used 2.75mm. My son loves them! This son lives near Place des Arts and recognized the condo tower where he lives in your vlog...it' the one with the wavy style. Have a nice Easter weekend! -Like Guylaine
Hi Selma, Hi Selma, I regularly knit socks with Patons Kroy. I too found in to be heavier than fingering. In some places it is listed as sport weight. I use 2.5 mm. it makes a very sturdy sock.
Hei hei - I have knit two Lentos and I plan on making a lot more! It fits so well and it is easy to wear and style. The last one was a fade, and I am going to make at least three more in a fade as well. It is a great way to use up random skeins. 🇨🇦🇫🇮
Wow Selma your 3rd Stockholm Slipover is beyond perfection. How that blue makes your eyes pop! 🩵 Yes yes to a grey one 👌🏼 … every colour!! I want to make one now. And a Lento. The Nutiden and mohair combo you’ve got going is stunning. The Coastland Cowl in your Granite Cardi leftovers would be verrry nice. I also need to make a Giselle (insert any of the patterns here.. hat, shawl, etc) Such a lovely catch up as always.
I love a vest over a white shirt, as well. I knitted the Stockholm Slipover in navy blue but will be casting on another soon. I also added two inches to the length. Your blue version is lovely and I'm anxious to find some yarn in that color.
Fabulous episode ❤ loved the yarn shops in Montreal 😍 Your blue Slipover is gorgeous on you 🤩👌 for the Patons yarn I use a 2.25mm when I knit socks with it, but I only knit shortie socks out of it 😉🧶 Love them..
I’m so sorry that I am a rather new viewer so I’ve missed 7 years of your excellent knitting. I love the vest, the blue is perfect on you. The Late Bloomer is great color way - I would love to use that color for myself. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into your podcasts.❤ Love your glasses - can you tell me where you got them?? Montreal was so fascinating!
Thank you for nice podcast and interesting yarn shop tour. Love Les Garcons yarn and design. I have same Knitting for Olive Silk I plan to knit a polo shirt with it with some details, but knitting it on 3mm needles will take till next summer. Lovely greetings from Prague. ❤
So sorry you didn't have a prettier day for you visit to Montreal. Thanks for taking us along. Les Garçons would probably not be my style of store but I really liked the other one. Thanks also for sharing patterns at the end. I would so love to make the Salty Air sweater and I even have bought the yarn for it. Now I just need to bite the bullet. 🙂
Love your podcast. Very informative! Do you know the name of the pattern or if kit available for the gray sweater in the window at Biscotte Yarns in Montreal? It was very airy and possibly made with Gedifra Laura Yarn. Please share. Thanks
I'm not a white shirt wearer but I am a long sleeves and vest person. I don't wear cardigans, nor sweaters to be honest, as I like coats for the cold. I like a sleeve that goes inside a coat easy and a good vest for in between weather. A vest over a shirt, coat or no coat, is my favourite. I'll like knitting the same vest pattern again if I find I like wearing what I made, and I've often made the same in different yarns for different effects. Changing colours and/or textures or to get a fabric with different insulation qualities.
Another wonderful episode including a field trip. I do appreciate the additional on the photos from the patterns. It is so much more explicit than trying to see a picture from someone’s phone. I appreciate you taking the time to do that for us.
I think that was a Lebanese restaurant since Byblos is a port city in Lebanon. I've been to the city years ago. My traveller's heart loves the vlog parts of your podcast. I also want to go to all the places and squeeze all the yarns!
What a great vlog Selma, I so much enjoyed watching it! Your FO's are beautiful and so are your WIP's Wow for the Lento sweater, a beautiful pink and it looks so soft. The Dove Blue from KfO is such a beautiful blue. I keep that in mind. The vlog about Montreal was very interesting. Oh I would love to visit those shops! We should go to East Canada in the future, been to the west part of the country quite a few times but never to the east!
Love your Stockholm Slipover. I knit the V neck version a couple of years ago and the shoulders were too wide so appreciate your comments about the modifications you made. At the moment, here in Maine, the snow has stopped and the sleet is coming down and trees are popping and snapping outside so your episode was a comforting diversion. Planning to go to Montreal this spring so also appreciate the yarn store adventures. Les garcons looks fab!
With Paton's Kroy sock yarn, I always cast on 54 stitches and use a size 2 needle. This works out great. I agree, it's more of a sport weight. It's a lovely, hard-wearing yarn. And bonus -- that it knits up faster!
I just got a pair of pale pink jeans that would go great with your soon to be pink sweater! Awesome you were chatting with Kate, I was thinking of her this episode. Going to the Ottawa knitting guild might be a little trip totally worth taking. To meet you and listen to your talks, to attend an Ottawa guild meeting, all would be within my reach for sure. I’m day to day lately, but you definitely may have gotten my knitting mojo back. Great visit and you got my attention to what is in store for us next podcast. Thanks Selma!
Same thing happened to me regarding the Kroy sock yarn. I have been using this yarn for possibly 40 years, but since the earthquake in Turkey (where the yarn is produced) is not the same. Also could be that Yarn Inspirations has taken over the production. I changed needle size and less stitches but still wasn't happy. Ended up knitting a scarf with it.
The Stockholm vest just jumped up to the front of my to make list! I also made a lento in one strand of Nutiden (LOVE Nutiden!) plus mohair and it’s amazing. So light, fits really well (mine is definitely oversized and I prefer that) and I never get hot or cold in it.
All the sweaters are beautiful. I love your colors. Le Garsone is really nice! I have two of Max's patterns. Right now I'm knitting the Tulpe Top by Lisa Hannes. It is so easy to knit! I recently was able to get some Juniper Moon Patagonia. organic merino. Two colors, rust and one called Charoite. It's a dusty purple. The pattern is so easy! I'm half way done already. So simple! and really pretty.
What a lovely episode. So many beautiful FO, WIPs and future plans. I have to laugh - when I saw Stockholm Slipover, my mind changed it to Stopover and I thought you'd been to Europe! :D Guess I'm more tired than I realized but that's ok. Oh, you've been on the hunt for that perfect blue for quite some time. How lovely that you made it happen. It does suit you well.
Thank you for another lovely episode. That perfect blue vest is gorgeous on you, the colour complements your eyes perfectly. I’m looking forward to seeing you in September 😊
I think you would love the slipcover by Nordic Knits, design 22, by Lana Grossa. I’m using the recommended yarn and it’s beautiful. Love all your knits.
Dear Selma, the pinks and blues suit you so well. You almost glow in a lovely way. I wish I had oodles of money to trip around the world and come do a workshop with you. ❤ South Australia is a bit far away. One day. Have you ever knit the Stockholm vest in a fingering weight yarn? I knit the Ilha with a lace/fingering yarn, 4mm needles. Its light and airy but will still be warm. Good as a lightweight travel garment when we visit Guernsey after Egypt/Jordan in November. I have returned to work but not doing nursing. Just cleaning/making up motel rooms. As the cost of living is getting expensive. And the super is getting chewed up. Im good at making beds.😂
Thanks for your detailed directions on your modifications on the Stockholm Slipover. I have that pattern and I’ve wanted to knit it. I’m not an experienced garment knitter, so hearing how someone changed a pattern is helpful, especially since I like how the shoulders of your vest turned out. I didn’t think about knitting a smaller size for the shoulders and then I guess I would need to increase it for a larger bust? I wish I could take the class that you’re teaching. Have you thought about making a video series to teach beginner garment knitters how to modify garments to fit better? Cheers! ❤
Beautiful garments as always! I have heard others comment that bourette silk is more ethical and since this is important to me, I finally did a deep dive into silk production and found it disturbing. I suggest to people interested in this, look into it yourselves. I’m not sure how I will proceed since I do love silk.
Wonderful podcast! Loved seeing a little bit of Montreal! The slipover is a beautiful blue. I also have some Nutiden yarn to use. Wondering how it might be as a slipover? A Lento is also nice. Did you use one strand Nutiden and one mohair?
Bonjour Selma,

That’s great to hear!!
I love patons kroy. I usually use size 2 needles 2.75mm. They work great. I think patons kept is a sport weight. The yarn is gorgeous
Good to know!

Hola!! Gracias por la visita!!
It would be lovely to have you!!
That blue in the vest brings out your blue eyes 😊
Your blue vest is a gorgeous color on you. Love the podcast.
Thank you so much!
Love your vest!! I’m making the Riptide Slipover and I am liking it also. May have to do another!
Glad to hear it!!
That is exactly it! Nutiden is amazing!!
Love this episode and the yarn shopping 🩶🩵
All the sweaters are beautiful. I love your colors. Le Garsone is really nice! I have two of Max's patterns. Right now I'm knitting the Tulpe Top by Lisa Hannes. It is so easy to knit! I recently was able to get some Juniper Moon Patagonia. organic merino. Two colors, rust and one called Charoite. It's a dusty purple. The pattern is so easy! I'm half way done already. So simple! and really pretty.
I will have to look it up!!
That is funny!! 😆 I think you need a stopover!
@@littlebigknits I do! :D
Thank you for another lovely episode. That perfect blue vest is gorgeous on you, the colour complements your eyes perfectly. I’m looking forward to seeing you in September 😊
I forgot to announce about my monthly challenge. FYI flossing is going well 😁
@@littlebigknits fantastic 🦷👍
I think you would love the slipcover by Nordic Knits, design 22, by Lana Grossa. I’m using the recommended yarn and it’s beautiful. Love all your knits.
I'll check it out!
On my second Stockholm . V neck first. Nearly finished the round. A lovely simple written effective pattern. Great episode as usual
Used 2.5 m needles when I knitted socks for my partner with Patons Kroy (blue striped ragg). Texture perfect and he was delighted!
Good to know!!
Cheers! ❤
I have not but I will see if perhaps I could figure out something online.
Beautiful garments as always! I have heard others comment that bourette silk is more ethical and since this is important to me, I finally did a deep dive into silk production and found it disturbing. I suggest to people interested in this, look into it yourselves. I’m not sure how I will proceed since I do love silk.
🌈❤️
I have made the short sleeve version of the Late Bloomer and love it. Very nice pattern. I love your colours.
Wonderful!
Thank you for posting. Excellent as always.😊
My pleasure!
Lento, what’s the big deal? I’ve knit 2 and I wear them all the time and I still don’t know why it’s so special. Love your show and your smile 😊
@@anneb.8633 it is a good solid raglan for sure and that must be the appeal
I have knit two Stockholm vests in the v-neck configuration. I chose it for the same reasons….narrow shoulder.
Wonderful podcast! Loved seeing a little bit of Montreal! The slipover is a beautiful blue. I also have some Nutiden yarn to use. Wondering how it might be as a slipover? A Lento is also nice. Did you use one strand Nutiden and one mohair?
I made a slipover and love it!!!
You mentioned a pattern from the Laine magazine. Could you repeat it for me? Thea? Thaya? Love your show.
