@@bernadettelanders7306 he quite after developing vocal nodules- googled his name this arvo and it came up immediately. Not sure if you’ll find him singing but if you do let me know. He did spell his name differently back then. He was awarded a scholarship at the Sydney Opera house and another from the West Australian Performing Arts academy- but the nodules meant he couldn’t pursue the career.

Yep, Assisted Dying became legal in WA in July 2021. A lot of regulations around it, which is a good thing. At least it is a choice for those that need it.

love your reactions as always and your laughter is infectious! :] having done a couple of "brothel tours" (they're a thing in some mining towns in western australia), i also learnt that most of the people running them have to register them as an actual business and the place the brothel is located is restricted to not being near schools, parks, playgrounds, child care facilities, churches etc. one of the big things which i think would make a difference between this and US prostitution is having "pimps" who essentially control a large amount of women and take part of their earnings / sometimes dish out violence.
brothels in "new south wales" are part of the "restricted premises act" which means that the running and management of them can't have any association with known criminals or associates. there are stiff monetary penalties for that.
due to the regulation of brothels in australia, theres a lot less likelihood of dodgey managers / owners running them. there are big penalties for brothels which don't follow the rules. it varies from state to state though. most of the well-established brothels here in WA are run by older females who may have previously been prostitutes themselves. as i previously mentioned about the brothel tours - it was amazing to see how clean these places are. the rooms are fully sanitised after each use and walking through them didn't get any ounce of seediness or uncleanliness. sorry, wrote a novel.
Not near churches seems dumb. It makes sense to not have them near child-oriented places, but who cares about religious sensibilities?
@@jessbellis9510yeah, I get what you're saying, but you've gotta remember, for all of our bluff and bluster, we're still a fairly conservative mob down here, government wise anyway,,, we've got our fair share of pearl clutchers here too... we've had a couple of PMs that were cattleticks, and most of them are of some sort of religion, I think we've only had one that was non-religious, and we had a full on bible basher type... for the most part we're a live and let live mob until you tread on our naked, thong wearing toes...😏😉
