any battlefield series game is better in how guns sound... Even in "Left 4 dead" AK sounds naturally though the game is not about realism... Modern Warfare 2 is awesome but guns do sound awful.
About time someone noticed that a 7.62 rifle sounds the same as a 9mm pistol in this game. But if there's something that is wrong with MW2 are the gun sounds, none of them sound like actual guns.
I think they did that to give the guns their own unique sounds. If they all sounded realistic every gun would be some version of a loud bang. I remember playing MW2 and knowing exactly what gun everyone had based off the sound of it firing. Everything was unique and it made it easier to identify the load out of the guy you were fighting
They did an excellent job on every gun EXCEPT, the .44 magnum. They ruined it: the iron sights, the recoil, the sound and even the model, it used to be a Colt Anaconda, and now is just a generic copy of a Smith & Wesson like revolver. I know you can’t use it in the campaign and doesn’t make a difference, but come on, it was a nice gun.
I can agree with everything expect the sound. Personally, I like the sound from the remaster better, as it's a more powerful round than a regular sidearm. The OG MW2's .44 sounds like a shot of plain air. But the animations on the other hand...OOOOHHHH the animations. They proved they can do them just fine with CoD:MW '19, but it feels too jumpy and aggressive, like this guy simply doesn't care about the ware that flicking the cylinder shut can make to the crane, which will eventually no longer revolve and he'd then have to rotate it manually.
Autistic Hades the only thing it kinda bothers me about the sound is that they stole it directly from the Eagle. What really gets me is the model and the iron sights.

I love how they fixed the iron sights on the Uzi because in cod4 and MW2 they were never using the rear sights to aim so they/you would be always shooting above their target

Something I actually liked about the older version- pay close attention to the ejecting spent shell casings. COD4 and MW2 originally had them with a lot of motion blur which made sense since they would have been moving very fast and right at the edge of your peripheral vision (plus it covered up for quirks in framerate). The remastered version shows them without any blur, so they seem to stand out awkwardly.

For me personally, some of the old sounds for mw2 are cringe inducing because they are high pitched and """squeaky""" (I guess) which are sounds that make me physically very uncomfortable.

I'm so excited for when MW2R multiplayer comes out because I missed out on the prime of MW2. I played the black ops trilogy and WAW mainly and the only MW I had was COD 4.
I find it funny that they changed the FALs capacity from 30 to 20 like thet did with the SCAR, as an attempt to correct a mistake... despite the fact that the original capacity was correct. The gun model in game is using 30 round magazines, (which do exist), rather than the 20 round magazines the FAL uses in other games. The difference is apparent if you compare say the Bo1 FAL to the MW2 FAL.
Ohh the PP2000 such an underrated weapon in MW2! i loved that weapon, i treated it like a smaller version of the UZI or more like a SMG it was really sweet to use and mauling down the enemy with it, and i got my first Tactical nuke with it.
Glad they didn’t remaster multiplayer. They’d have to balance out soooo many things that it wouldn’t be the same game and it wouldn’t have the same charm it did when everything was broken
Not bad. Some guns were improved while some is very questionable for its overhaul. Sounds are Well. Its cod. But in depth in detail has definitely been improved such as shotguns overall. As Well as better detail to reloads of sniper rifles(some guns in example improved visual detail of the bullet in the chamber and shotgun reloads being properly accurate. )
Just in my opinion: MW2 was a really good addition to the series, the animations were very slick and smooth. But in MW2R brings back the nostalgia and the missions to a better quality resolution. But to me I feel like the weapon reload animations or the inspects are abit clunky and kinda off putting to me... 🤔
Bit disappointed they straight up recycled some sounds from MWR, but the ones that actually got remastered sound way punchier and more powerful than the original, and they even tweaked some of the OG reload animations so they looked more accurate, not to mention the beautiful inspects. I'm sticking to the remaster on this one.
Detail in fact was improved and more in depth than OG mw2. As for sound its cod. Cant really say. But overall they made a fine improvement. As for certain guns having(magnum and deagle) having the same sound
Man half of these weapons in the remaster sound like they put a suppressor at the end. Clearly you can tell the more iconic weapons like the M4A1, AK, Deagle, etc they sound more like the original because those weapons are gonna be most nostalgic about. And the remaster just feels like a shallow soulless MW2. And where it’s just the campaign I can almost guarantee the iconic missions like no Russian will get the most attention and feel the most like the original MW2. I can’t wait till 2021/2022 or so we’ll get the new COD with a reused name and MW3 remastered attached too it

@Famous Cryp I mean, it's a war game. Reusing gun sounds because you're too lazy to record new ones is a big deal. Raven didn't do that with the original remaster, Beenox did. And If that's the logic you're going with, then reuse standard generic sounds because fuck it. People love to turn a blind eye to stuff like this, but then question why Battlefield has been stomping all over COD in terms of Sound Design for roughly over a decade now.

They changed reload animations yet the 1887 still uses blue shells which imply they are slugs but in actuality they are buckshot.
Maybe it's a reference to the pre-patched Models, since it felt more like they're shooting slugs rather than actual buckshot.

Bit disappointed they straight up recycled some sounds from MWR, but the ones that actually got remastered sound way punchier and more powerful than the original, and they even tweaked some of the OG reload animations so they looked more accurate, not to mention the beautiful inspects. I'm sticking to the remaster on this one.

Detail in fact was improved and more in depth than OG mw2. As for sound its cod. Cant really say. But overall they made a fine improvement. As for certain guns having(magnum and deagle) having the same sound
The FAMAS reload sound is straight up copied from FFAR's one in Black Ops 3

This is because its a arcade game its ment to be enjoyed and is still realistic on other ways

I'm a bit upset that the Magnum and Deagle use the same gunshot sound in MW2R, but it could've been worse.
Man half of these weapons in the remaster sound like they put a suppressor at the end. Clearly you can tell the more iconic weapons like the M4A1, AK, Deagle, etc they sound more like the original because those weapons are gonna be most nostalgic about. And the remaster just feels like a shallow soulless MW2. And where it’s just the campaign I can almost guarantee the iconic missions like no Russian will get the most attention and feel the most like the original MW2. I can’t wait till 2021/2022 or so we’ll get the new COD with a reused name and MW3 remastered attached too it

@Famous Cryp I mean, it's a war game. Reusing gun sounds because you're too lazy to record new ones is a big deal. Raven didn't do that with the original remaster, Beenox did. And If that's the logic you're going with, then reuse standard generic sounds because fuck it. People love to turn a blind eye to stuff like this, but then question why Battlefield has been stomping all over COD in terms of Sound Design for roughly over a decade now.
