Me too. Write Holosun and tell them you saw a really good video on three dots and theirs was missing. They haven’t answered any of my three attempts at filling out their T&E requests.
250 rounds thru my romeo zero and ejecting brass ruined the lense within 20 shots. Also, carefully using alcohol and a qtip as the owners manual instructed completely ruined the emitter and lense. Shooting with a slightly wet gun and using clp, some clp blasted up onto the lense, and the coating came off. I've had the romeo zero for 2 months. Before I even shot, opening the blister pack, a couple of plastic shards fell onto the lense, using my breath I blew it off, and it scratched the lense. I wouldn't even pay 50 bucks for the sig romeo zero. Also, no cover on the bottom allowed a bit of CLP in during cleaning, I learned the electronics are coated in epoxy for "waterproofing" which not only leaked out and into my chamber when it melted under heat within the first 50 rounds, the clp degraded it and now the electronics shake freely and rattle inside the housing. In short, just simply using the romeo will ruin it. They require you to torque the unit down to 9 inch pounds, which isnt enough to keep the screws tight without lock tite, which they do not include. To turn the emitter on you need to fashion yourself a tool, I use my smart pen on my phone which is a Samsung galaxy note 8. But if I use anything else I risk destroying the lense. And if you push too hard on the button it falls into the unit and gets stuck. So adjusting brightness is a serious challenge. Just some info I thought I'd share about sigs romeo zero. Also the tape they give you to keep the battery in is the shape of the unit, you will not be able to get a replacement for it when it stops sticking. So you'll be forced to use normal tape, which wont keep it moisture proof. I live in wi, I dont even wanna carry this in the cold. Just a range toy you'll ruin after a few other range toys get ruined while ur figuring out what optic to carry. It will NOT last you a lifetime or even close.
Yea, that adjustment button is stupid. My RomeoZero has been fine but I had a friend that had a bad one right off the bat, and it came in his P365xl. Sig was fantastic on the customer service in getting a new one out to him though.
A lot of people have had luck going from the underside of the slide and poking through the holes. Or a small rubber mallet while it’s upside down to jar it loose.
Nice video brother, thank you just got my Canik today & was wondering about the red dot sights & you called it for me, so thanks. Anyway great video keep'em coming..🇺🇸
Good video...But why do alot of channels start their video by talking at one level, But then Blast music so you gotta run the volume down fast...then they start talking and you gotta crank it back up just to hear them ? Doesn't they have a volume leveling slider?
You would need to modify the plastic plate for the 507k or mount directly to the SC without the plate. Neither are good options but it will fit the SC.
None. The holes drilled and tapped on the Sar9x match an RMSc patter dot. It’s not an ideal configuration but it will work if you want to try out a red dot on it.
MSRP changes and there may be sales on some of these as well. I personally know people who’ve had problems with the RomeoZero (199 AFAIK), I haven’t heard anything about the SMS2 (199 too…I think) but it’s also all polymer and plastic lens as well as auto dimming. The Sentinel (249?) is aluminum and glass, choice of manual or auto, and has an Ironsides shield you can buy for more protection. Plus you can save a little with the link on my website.
They’re all pretty close to the same width but I don’t remember the exact dimensions without rewatching this video. My SMS2 came with the Canik and had the sticker in it, not sure that it’s required since you’re going to lose it when you put a new battery in it.
I didn’t mount it to the Canik but I think you could use the screws that came with the Canik. If not, there should be a bunch of screws in with the RomeoZero.
I found a place selling the glock 17 mos gen 5 for $529! But they don't have stock and there is no guarantee.. i saw the sar this morning, and knowing that I have rmr options, I'm buying the platinum now! Thanks so much for these videos. Ima try to get you some subscribers.

I don’t care what Sarge says about me either. If I did, I probably wouldn’t still like him. I’d honestly go with the Swampfox for carry. Does the liberty fit the Canik tp9 elite sc just as well as the sentinel ? Or the king slayer.. just trying to get a good list of the red dots that fit without having to modify in any way
Liberty and Justice are RMR pattern, they’re too big for the SC. These three will fit without modification as will the ADE Spike when it is released. The Holosun 507k will fit without the optics plate or you can modify the plate by taking two of the pins off to match the Holosun.
@@OBNXS1 got you. Thanks bro, that’s good info. Academy has the 507c x2 on sale right now so I’ve been considering that but I think that’s too big too right ? I’m stuck between that, a vortex venom, or the sentinel. I think if the venom fits I’ll probably go that direction.
I haven't noticed that at all in use. That may just be the camera picking up the lens coating or something the eyes can't. Edit: It's definitely something from the camera angle, it's not visible by eye.
@@OBNXS1 I have the Auto and can see the glare with my eyes and through a camera. I think the emitter shroud is cut too high causing the dot to be over exposed.
I just put the sms2 on my canik and decided to check the auto brightness outside at 1 am and it's useless. It's almost not on at all and hard to line back up fast, and the front scratched very easy, there was a little bit of the usual stuff on the inside after 100 rds and pretty much nothing except a little bit of smug around the edge on the outside and I was worried about scratching the inside even after cleaning it very easy with lense cloth and using a qtip to lightly get anything out and the side that didn't have any gunk from firing ended up with several small scratches. I'm severely disappointed that it's so fragile for the price. I've had glasses that were buy one pair get a pair free for $70 that didn't even have scratches after 2 years and within 30 mns the shield has damage in front. It's a joke
Sig dropped the ball on this one. I got a 3moa and 6moa and both scratch soooo easy it’s not even funny. Alcohol with microfiber swabs and lense towel and still both got so many scratches which sucks because I really like Sig but this sight sucks ass. Real glass would’ve made it 100x better I could live with the polymer housing. Just ordered the swampfox as I couldn’t find any Holosuns
I think I will too. My biggest thing is as long as the glass doesn’t scratch I will be fine. Really disappointed in sig. If they put a plus and minus button on the outside and put actual glass in it I’ll buy it again. I’m not too picky but when the red dot gets scratched the red dot shows every scratch and messes with my sight picture so that’s a no go.
Just found your channel and subbed. I like finding new gun channels. Really enjoy the videos. Only advice so far is turn down the music a couple notches please.
Do you still have the Swampfox Sentinel on your carry gun? I'm considering buying one for my Shield Plus as my eyes are not what they used to be. Thanks
I have a Liberty with Ironsides on my EDC. If I was carrying something that needed the smaller dot, I’d have no problem putting a Sentinel and Ironsides on it for carry. If you’re planning to get one, check my website 😉
I just recently started looking at pistol RDS and the Romeo Zero was my first pick but I didn’t care for the polymer housing. My only complaint about the Sentinel is that it has to be removed to change its battery. But looking at the big picture, that’s not that big of a deal.
Holosun 507k is the only small dot right now that can remain on the gun for a battery change…but they went with a proprietary bottom on it so you have to modify your optics plate, if your gun takes one.

I simply used an ignition file (very fine toothed) and filed the posts completely down to flush. Refitting the sight on to the slide and plate, it appeared that there was still a gap between the sight and plate but thought that once the screws were inserted with proper torque this gap would disappear."
@@Doze320 This adjustment is required for Canik Elite SC or some other gun. I've heard the HellCat had to be modified, but have not heard about the Canik
If you had the correct height front sight AND sighted it all in by drifting the optic so that you were zeroed on the notch, then yes they would work...until you took the optic off to change the battery and then you'd need to do it all over again. Far more labor and ammo intensive than re-zeroing your red dot when you change the battery. Get suppressor height sights and co-witness, the notch is a gimmick.
It is. I realized that later after this video. It’s tough when you’re trying to get stuff out and there’s no box, because it came in the pistol, and there’s virtually no information available.
You know, rather than repeatedly complaining about the battery falling or of the Romeo Zero, just hold hold the it upside down, place the battery in it and then seat it onto your gun upside down, flip it over and insert screws... It's not rocket science. 🙂 I think, something to consider for future reviews of these sights, I'd really be interested in the comparisons of the heighth of the base, to give an idea on how well each allows the co-witnessing of the iron sights. Thanks.
But then you wouldn't know how stupidly annoying it was, and what a complete oversight by the engineering team, that they couldn't add that one tiny piece or spring steel in there to keep the battery in place.
@@OBNXS1 Yeah, I guess that little tab would be worth the extra $160 for the shield. 😏 I do agree that it's silly not to have some retention, but as I mentioned above, it's hardly an issue.

I’ve tried all red dots on this video + Holosun on my P365 XL and Canik TP9 Elite SC. No modification needed on the Sig. Mounting plate for the Canik needs to be shaved a bit which took literally 2 seconds to do. Comparing the housing material, lens quality, ease of use and battery location...Holosun easily. Swampfox coming in at #2. Romeo Zero is just horrible.
I agree on the RomeoZero. I just picked up a 407k and I’ll be testing that on my P365. I’ll admit that the battery location is a huge plus over all of them but having to modify the mount can be a huge issue for some people/pistols. It was an idiotic move on Holosun to completely disregard what was pretty much the standard for micro RDS. We don’t need a dozen different cuts like the larger ones.

I’ve heard some horror stories on the RomeoZero but it sounds like you’ve hit every single one of them.
@@OBNXS1 I have one and its been fine. It does it job as a red dot. The on off button was after thought. The next version will be better. Haha
Yea, that adjustment button is stupid. My RomeoZero has been fine but I had a friend that had a bad one right off the bat, and it came in his P365xl. Sig was fantastic on the customer service in getting a new one out to him though.
I really appreciate your input and help Finally got it off thank god 😩
Glad to hear that. Thankfully I didn’t have one stuck that hard on any of mine.
How did you get it off? Mines is stick and I don't wanna scratch it up getting it off
A lot of people have had luck going from the underside of the slide and poking through the holes. Or a small rubber mallet while it’s upside down to jar it loose.
My new Romeo Zero red dot came with a hard metal shield if u want to see it I'll upload a video
I’ve seen them in the blister packs now that they’re shipping with the shield. I haven’t requested one from Sig yet.
Nice video brother, thank you just got my Canik today & was wondering about the red dot sights & you called it for me, so thanks. Anyway great video keep'em coming..🇺🇸
Thank you. Enjoy that Canik.
Good video...But why do alot of channels start their video by talking at one level, But then Blast music so you gotta run the volume down fast...then they start talking and you gotta crank it back up just to hear them ? Doesn't they have a volume leveling slider?
RUclips requires us to keep you on your toes. 😁
Honestly, I didn’t realize it was that far off. It’s something I’ll have to pay more attention to.
What was the other pistol you showed besides the canik SC
That was a Polymer 80 build cut for RMR but with the Shield Sights adapter plate from RMR to RMSc.
@@OBNXS1 sick bro thank you appreciate it
Thank you sir ..very helpfull as i thought the Shield was my only option. I believe i will try Swampfox.
The Holosun 507k and ADE Spike have come out since this video; so it’s a couple more options.
@@OBNXS1 the 507k fits on the canik elite sc without modifications?
You would need to modify the plastic plate for the 507k or mount directly to the SC without the plate. Neither are good options but it will fit the SC.
@@OBNXS1 thanks I think I’ll just stick with the shield. Your review wasn’t too harsh on it
I can't find the Shield SMS2 anywhere I have the Canik TP9 Elite SC also...
These small red dots are in demand so they’re tough to find right now. I think all the SMS2 production is going into the SCs and Hellcats right now.
I never found 1 either, got a sentinel.
You’re gonna love it.
What mounting plate did you use for the sar9x
None. The holes drilled and tapped on the Sar9x match an RMSc patter dot. It’s not an ideal configuration but it will work if you want to try out a red dot on it.
What’s the MSRP on all 3 and what’s the best value? Thank you
MSRP changes and there may be sales on some of these as well. Plus you can save a little with the link on my website.
did your Canik with SMS package come with the optics cover plate?
Yes, it was in the box.
Mine did
This video is a lifesaver
Glad you got some info out of it.
Is the sms2 wider? It's hard to tell it looks the same to me. Also does the sms2 requires you to use the sticker on the battery?
They’re all pretty close to the same width but I don’t remember the exact dimensions without rewatching this video. My SMS2 came with the Canik and had the sticker in it, not sure that it’s required since you’re going to lose it when you put a new battery in it.
@@OBNXS1 did it came with the tools and minidial? All that extra stuff?
Yes, that stuff was in the case with the Canik.
What screws did you use to mount the Romeo Zero. The screws that came with the red dot are to short
I didn’t mount it to the Canik but I think you could use the screws that came with the Canik. If not, there should be a bunch of screws in with the RomeoZero.

I don’t care what Sarge says about me either. If I did, I probably wouldn’t still like him.
I’d honestly go with the Swampfox for carry. Even though I know the others are going to be fine, I’d want the aluminum housing for my own peace of mind.
The Daily Shooter and Canik Fanatik have a code for Swampfox that will save you a chunk as well.

507c is the RMR pattern as well, it will be too big for the SC.
Venom is a doctor cut, another mounting pattern, but will also be too big for the SC.

I noticed the Swampfox has a red glare at the top of the lens even on medium brightness. At the 10:15 mark.
I’d reach out to Swampfox about it. I’m not seeing that on mine.
It's a joke
darknature79 wow, sorry to hear about all the problems. Have you tried contacting Shield Sights?

I’d definitely reach out. I haven’t had any reason to deal with Shield’s customer service but I haven’t heard any horror stories either.
@@OBNXS1 I just emailed them to see what they say.
I'm still amazed at how easy the outside front scratched.
Holosuns are rare as hell. I think you’ll like the Swampfox.
Thanks for checking me out…I’m better now about equalizing the music to the talking sections of videos.
The shield is Also auto adjust .
Just ordered the Sentinel.
I just recently started looking at pistol RDS and the Romeo Zero was my first pick but I didn’t care for the polymer housing. My only complaint about the Sentinel is that it has to be removed to change its battery. But looking at the big picture, that’s not that big of a deal.
I think you’ll like it.
Holosun 507k is the only small dot right now that can remain on the gun for a battery change…but they went with a proprietary bottom on it so you have to modify your optics plate, if your gun takes one.

Swamp Fox for the win
Great information buddy. Awesome review
Glad you enjoyed it
Which one is thinner at the base? Or do all 3 allow you to cowitness your irons?
Swampfox is thickest at the base but it's all aluminum; the other two are polymer.
@@OBNXS1 so the swamp fox can't allow for co witness of iron sights and the other 2 can?
All of them will likely need taller sights depending on the pistol and how deep the optic cut is. I can’t answer that without having the pistol in hand.
Ok. I was thinking the sites came the same size regardless 9f whether it came with the shield optic or not. I'll check, and if I find out I'll let you know
What gun are you planning on?
I was waiting on the release of the Holosun 507k to put on my TP9 Elite SC. Then I found out it's not plug and play. It requires modification to fit. I've seen several positive reviews on the Swampfox Sentinel so I ordered one today. Use coupon code "Dailyshooter" for 20% off. My son has the RomeoZero on his P365XL. While nice, I prefer the aluminum housing on the Sentinel.
What needs to be modified? Is the 507k not on the RMSc footprint?
@@OBNXS1 The base tabs have to be filed down and you need to track down screws that will work. The one that come with the gun and those supplied by Holosun will not work.
@@OBNXS1 Here's a link to the screws that will work: www.asaphobbies.com/hot-racing-aon331fh/25034-stainless-steel-m4x16mm-low-profile-flat-head-cap-screws.html#product-description-tab-content. AND an explanation of what had to be done for the 507k to fit: "I placed the 507k on top of the plate and saw that the rear raised ’stabilization’ posts would have to be removed in order for the sight to sit flush on the plate and slide. I simply used an ignition file (very fine toothed) and filed the posts completely down to flush. Refitting the sight on to the slide and plate, it appeared that there was still a gap between the sight and plate but thought that once the screws were inserted with proper torque this gap would disappear."
Well that sucks, I thought everyone was going with the same footprint on the small ones.
@@Doze320 This adjustment is required for Canik Elite SC or some other gun. I've heard the HellCat had to be modified, but have not heard about the Canik

What is your favorite SAR ?
I’m torn between the P8S and the Sar9x. I really like a lot about both of them.
Wich one is a direct drop in for the sc elite without customising anything?
All three of these will fit the SC with no modifications.
Awsome. Might go with Romero zero . Do you know if the Ade is a direct fit also?
The ADE Spike is also a direct fit.
Awsome I'm mostly likely going with the spikes I've seen some good reviews even on the prototype
I have another question . What ammo are you supposed to use when using a mini reddot I bot one and tried it today but pistol wasnt fully cycleing
You didn't talk about any features.... What about the 2 with built in sights ... Do they work.????
If you had the correct height front sight AND sighted it all in by drifting the optic so that you were zeroed on the notch, then yes they would work...until you took the optic off to change the battery and then you'd need to do it all over again. Far more labor and ammo intensive than re-zeroing your red dot when you change the battery. Get suppressor height sights and co-witness, the notch is a gimmick.
@@OBNXS1 Thanks
No they don’t work with factory irons! All 3 will work with the correct supp height irons tho
Thanks for these videos.
I’m glad you like them.
is the SMS2 not auto adjusting? My SMSc is.
I think, something to consider for future reviews of these sights, I'd really be interested in the comparisons of the heighth of the base, to give an idea on how well each allows the co-witnessing of the iron sights.
I do agree that it's silly not to have some retention, but as I mentioned above, it's hardly an issue.

Holosun beats them all
507k requires you to modify the mounting plate, have a pistol cut, or mount without the plate on a platform meant for a plate. So...not quite.
The music sucks. But good Job .l ordered the swamp fox

Have you tried any other dots? I’m wondering if you might have astigmatism if it looks that big. Is it a starburst?
@@OBNXS1 no sir I don’t have any type of eye problems. I was joking about the 80 MOA but the dot is noticeably larger than something that’s 2 MOA though. And I think the fact that you can’t turn it down makes it more dramatic than what it truly is.
I think it’s a 3.5 IIRC. But yea, I much prefer a manual adjustment myself because the auto adjustment is almost never right no matter what manufacturer.
