The Voyager, a new and updated Proto Pipe. Designed for everyday use and build to last. www.protopipellc.com Instagram: protopipe Facebook: Proto Pipe LLC
I still miss my original PP. Bought it at 'Endless Horizons' in Odessa Texas, had to leave it in the backseat of a police car in Midland back in 1983.... Like the new design, and the story behind it.
Haha funny im looking into a new pipe and the first comment related with me instantly. I live in midland and was just in odessa today lol. Look like all signs point to yes on me getting one for myself.
i retract all my negative reviews. A very nice lady from PP called to inform me a new pipe is forthcoming! I am impressed. It's what most American companies do, in my experience. Thank you, Proto Pipe.
I’ve had my voyager for one month, and I can already say it’s one of the best pieces I’ve ever owned. This is my new every day carry for on the go thank y’all !
Now this is a beautiful pipe. I ordered the Highbrid Lefty a few months ago and just received it a few days ago (I'm the first reviewer of the Highbrid Lefty on the site 😁) and I love it! I'm 34, but I love stuff from the 60's and 70's and having been a cannabis user since I was 16, and just finding out about Proto Pipe this year, I *had* to get one. Had this new version been available back when I ordered the Lefty, I would've ordered this one instead 😩 The Lefty was definitely worth the long wait, and I can certainly understand why the long wait, what with these being handmade. I am grateful to own this pipe and will treasure it and use it for the rest of my life. I've given up my glass bong and glass spoon pipe for the Proto Pipe and I'm never going back. Much love to you from here in Ontario, Canada, Proto Pipe ❤️ I can't wait to see what the future holds for Proto Pipe innovations 😮
I cannot wait for mine to arrive. Supposed to arrive mid July but I still haven’t received it. I know it’ll be worth the wait! Edit:It arrived is is more spectacular than I could have imagined. I have to clean it after every use and it stays good as new!
@@-_._._- I absolutely agree with you! It’s funny that it’s much smaller than I imagined but it holds a good amount in the bowl. It’s an instant favorite and an incredible novelty. I can’t wait to take it on hikes and have it be my trail pipe. It blows any other handheld pipe out of the water and the metal swivel to cap it really does keep the smell out. The product is a must have for a frequent smoker.
I just ordered mine a couple days ago I got a long way to wait yet probably won't be here till this fall I love the redesign and how l the bottom cap swings open for cleaning it said you can use the top cap as a roach clip I'm still trying to figure out how that works from the picture any advice?
I would assume the 2nd screw that acts as a lid stop, combined with the little edges milled into the lid would lend themselves nicely to holding a roach. Edit: wait that's the tar trap on the underside, that I mistook for being the top because I was high.
@@kremesauceIt does work. Just take the roach and use the clip to hold it into place vertically, and as snugly as possible so you get nice pulls from the roach
Pretty much yes. The differences are mostly cosmetic, however the knurling on the stash pod is supposed to work better at holding the poker in place. The knurling on the poker ought to help with keeping a better grip on it as well. If money isn't an issue and you want a cooler looking pipe, then you might prefer the voyager. Otherwise I'd recommend just getting the rocket, it doesn't get near as hot as the original proto pipe, the bowl is bigger, and it's much easier to clean the tar trap because it's covered by a lid, as opposed to being a removable piece on its own. The latter seems to be the most salient issue with the original proto pipe, so for just $10 more there's no reason to not get the rocket instead.
Perhaps im wrong but metal pipes are just way to harsh. Sometimes even hard to keep holding if its shared. I can see its utility on a hike or small roadtrip. I don't think id ever prefer a metal pipe over anything. I rather the old corn cob, wood pipe, glass pipe, i think metal pipes are only above aluminum foil or aluminum can pipes. It would be amazing to see a premium pipe with these qualities. Im sure ones out there, but protopipe should realize people will pay over $100 easy and sometimes far more for a premium product. Keep the OG designs but maybe have a glass or (eh) even silicone that isn't a missle to your throat.
Trust me, it pulls nicely and doesn't burn. Just try it out for yourself. I preferred glass for the majority of my smoking career (that is, almost half my life), but once I made the switch to Protopipe, I never looked back
its a proto pipe 2.0 i guess. I dont see anything new here except a shape. Lets face it..... smoking from brass isnt nearly as flavorful as glass. Ive never owned a 'voyager' . But, ive owned many protopipes over the years. Not sure why they were popular. Im a heavy smoker .... and theyre not up to the task i feel. why? They get crazy hot and stay that way for a long time after half a bowl. Youll definitely not want to put it in your front pants pocket for awhile. unless youre a lightweight i dont think this will work for most. And dont try sharing a bowl unless youre have time to let it cool halfway thru the bowl. The chamber is neat but lets your weed dry out and doesnt conceal the odor. The bottom piece gets welded in with resin quite easily. So if you dont clean it regularly youll be soaking it in isopropyl . Aside from being unique and different i honestly dont see why they were popular. If youre young i suppose theyre cool for the same reasons they were in the 70's. they were expensive and hard to get. They were unique. they were a conversation piece. Other than that i dont feel they were really a good smoking experience. Most times it stayed in a drawer while i smoked from something else. Theyre a cool novelty. one to have in your collection, i suppose. But i doubt it will be your everyday piece for long.
The Voyager and Rocket don't get near as hot as the regular proto pipe because the bowl is much thicker. The stash pod is meant to hold a day or two's worth of bud, if it's in there long enough to dry out then maybe you don't need a Proto Pipe. Clean it every few days and the hits taste fine. In the Voyager and Rocket the resin trap piece is replaced by a resin chamber covered by sliding cover that's easy to move. You say the protopipe is a novelty piece, I say the color changing glass ones that shatter as soon as you drop them are. The latest iterations of the protopipe are pragmatic, allow for easy smoking and cleaning while on the go, and are guaranteed to last you a lifetime as long as yours doesn't get stolen or something. Yeah the original iteration of the protopipe had some salient flaws but they've been fixed in the newer ones and I'm not hearing you give you opinion on the newer ones.
pipes are cheaply made and fall apart within the first year of use. company will not honor their warranties and take weeks to respond to emails. save yourself $100 and buy the knock offs at the smoke shop that go for like $5.
Iv been using mine for about a month now. The build is very solid. It’s not cheaply made that’s for sure. Many people still have theirs since the 70s/80s….I’ll get back to you in a year with my personal experience. So far it’s amazing.

Still waiting on my beautiful brass brazier.... Love and blessings from Montana 🌫️🤍🤙
It’s worth the wait! It blew my mind and my expectations which were already pretty high

Im going to order one hand crafted piece of functional art , for sure.
It really is and feels incredible in your hands with the weight
Waiting on mine. I ordered this and a classic highbrid, both should ship next month. Pretty excited.
Same
You guys get them?
@@user-ki1nm4wo3o no, not yet.
I'm still waiting as well ,about a month in. Should be shipped somtime by end of September
Damn, bought mine today. It says they’re about 2 months behind
My old pipe broke at the threads so I just got the hybrid 11 weeks wait time is pretty big but I'm willing to wait for something good

The top is like a crescent shape which you can pinch a roach in. I still need to try it out but it would absolutely work.

So it's the rocket with fancier knurling on the poker and storage chamber?

Is the bowl bigger?
Yes
Where do I buy
Looks like my Rocket. What’s different?
I think it has a bigger bowl size
