Same here, there was a proper awkward moment when I was at college too, late 2012, we're having party, getting ready to go out so we're rotating through songs on RUclips, one guy puts on "rooftops", this was just a few months after it happened, and a few of us are just watching the video proper awkwardly thinking "does he... not know?" finally someone says to the guy "You know the singer from these just got arrested recently on all sorts."
"Oh really? Damn." he just carries on watching the video
"Yeah, apparently he uh..." he explained the story
"Oh..." he quickly turns the video off and we move onto something else. So awkward
Same, the song is still good but I can't listen to it anymore knowing what he did.
Shinobi vs dragon ninja and fake sound of progress were two of my favourite songs ever they were a huge part of my childhood and they are now horribly tainted and I cannot ever listen to them again.

I absolutely loved Lostprophets but haven’t been able to bring myself to listen to any of their music since the news about Ian came out. And I feel bad for Ian “H” Watkins from Steps for amount of flack he got just for having the same name.
I think he had to sue a newspaper because they printed his picture along with an article about the other Ian Watkins. A very unlucky coincidence he happens to have the same name and they're both Welsh.

For all the alternative people - I can safely say Ian Watkins makes us all feel sick.
His case still makes my stomach turn to this day.

Watkins pissed me off and disgusted me to the point I have never listened to that song again I loved rooftops
I saw them live, used to really like them, but I'm the same, I can't listen to them now and never have
Ugh, Lostprophets used to be one of my favourites, still remember having them on repeat all summer long back in 2012, then just a few months later this news comes out, haven't been able to listen to them since
Jimmy saville wasn't really a singer but he should still be here. He was host of top of the pops for so long

He obviously suffers from mental ill health the others have no excuse.
Ringo was abusive to his ex-wife due to alcoholism partially brought on by being upset about the Beatles' breakup. And Maureen Starkey would have an affair with George Harrison, who was having marital problems at the time. But thankfully both Ringo and George mostly got past such troubling behavior years later. I don't know how much John was able to atone for before his death, but probably not enough.
Paul McCartney seems to have been the nicest of The Beatles; apart from cheating on Jane Asher I can't think of anything bad he has done.

Ian Watkins was such a dissapointment. I was such a fan of lostprophets and even learned shinobi vs dragon ninja on the guitar. When I heard what he did I was in such shock. I don’t even listen to the songs anymore

ALL music stars are is just people like everyone else, some of them have evil lurking inside them, and are not afraid to act on it if it suits them. Many of them are just plain disgusting and need to be behind bars.
Gary Glitter, grew up with his music, though they all need to atone for their behaviour. Adam Ant is mild, not of the ilk of others in this group.

A 17 year old isn't a minor. What Holland did was wrong ofc, but what's the point in lying saying his victim was a minor? What Boy George did is no surprise really. He was always a weirdo, you could tell.

That would depend on a few different factors. Are the adult and the 17 year old related to one another? What country are the adult and the 17 year old from? How much older is the adult person in comparison to the 17 year old? Is the 17 year old of sound mind and body?(eg: not developmentally disabled and/or mentally ill) Was the 17 year old under the influence of any kind of drugs?(regardless of whether or not those drugs are of the illegal variety, or if it's cannabis, alcohol, or a prescription from a doctor) I'm sure that there are other stipulations from other countries that I'm not aware of, obviously. Whether or not someone is considered to be a minor child isn't something that is a rule of law from one place to another even within some individual countries, let alone from country to country to country.
@@louisejohnson6057 all those should have been taken into account, however, that still doesn't make the 17 year old a minor, (and it doesn't matter how big the age gap is it's just the larger the age gap, the weirder it is) and nor does them being related, that would just make it more disgusting and more illegal. But we know they were not related. This happened in England, In England the age of consent is 16 and therefore from 16, a person is no longer a minor.
