My man your voice is so smooth! I was looking tutorials for my new Hero9 and suddenly "Who is talking me like that omg" Lol Great content and great tips! Best regards from Perú!
Thank you for the video! The Hero 9 is my first Gopro. Going through the settings I find it odd that 30 fps isn't an option. No matter what I go into all I see is 24, 25, 50, etc. I could swear 30 was there when I first got it.
thank you so much i have my g9 my first ever action for motoblog..its big help for me waiting for my audio adaptor for finall audio and for better audio
I don’t know if you can help me out with a question I bought the GoPro 9 yesterday and after I turn it on the battery and the side and back of the GoPro is really hot after ten minutes and then the only way to get the red light off is to take the battery out I’m devastated I got a lemon and should have kept my GoPro 5 any help or advice would be greatly appreciate 🙏🇮🇪
Hi, when I chose 4k 60 L+ it is always 2x speed, when I change the speed to 1x it is back to 30fps. What am I doing wrong? I just want to record 4k 60fps video. Thanks for helping...
This is such a helpful video! I just picked up the 9. I'm wondering, for alpine skiing videos, what small changes should I make from what is in the video?
Thank you so much for this! i just got my GoPro 9 and this is my first ever action camera! Everything is like rocket science to me! I would like to ask what setting should I use to record playing beach volleyball since it can be really sunny ☀️ or cloudy ⛅️. Subscribed!
Hello! I have a GoPro 9 and use an iPod Pro. I use GoPro Quik for video and photo processing. Can you recommend an app with which I could process videos and photos! For example, time lapse with a photo!
I have tried your settings but I'm having trouble with going from high sun mixed with fairly dark shadows. For instance I just made a video for floor mats on my channel and I can't seem to get a good balance of lighting. My Samsung galaxy s20+ seemed to do a much better job with that. Any words of advice? I would really appreciate it!
You have bright highlights and dark shadows in the same frame? Or you move from a darker environment to a brighter one? You could try to fix the exposure using the exposure control feature. In my last video (best settings for skiing, biking) I show how to do that..
@@MountMediaChannel I was working in a tight area where half of my frame at time was in full sun while the other half was shadowed. Im going to try the settings from your new video and see how it works. I didn't lock the exposure, I just left the small box in the center on the screen. Maybe that's why it had a jard time adjusting?
Why can't I set my hero 9 to 2.7K 120 FPS? I must have a setting wrong somewhere. It will only let me go to 60 FPS when I'm in 2.7K. Is there something I need to change somewhere else?
2.7K 120 FPS FOV WIDE STABILIZATION ON/HIGH PROTUNE BITRATE STD - SHUTTER AUTO - EV COMP -0.5 WB AUTO - ISO MIN 100 - ISO MAX 400 SHARPNESS LOW - COLOR FLAT Is this okay for Gopro hero black 9 ??
Hi Jeff, for this purpose I would probably shoot in 5K/30 or 4K/30. Should you need slow motion then 4K60. Everything else set to standard if you don't want to edit - perhaps sharpness set to medium
You said I should use the same framerate while filming that I use in the project. Also you redommendt using higher frame rates for slow motion and 24 pfs for "normal" cinematic shooting. My question is: How do I combine the two in one single project? Thank you!
If you put your higher frame rate clip (for example shot with 60fps) onto the timeline of your project (24fps) you can slow it down to 40% if you want. If you want to use the same clip without slow motion your software will convert it to 24fps.
Great video. I am struggling to find the best setting on my Gopro hero 9 for fast moving objects since i do a lot of water activities. I also have ND filters. Thank you
Hi Andreas, I would probably shoot in 4K/60. So you have a nice fluid image and even the possibility for slow motion. For all other settings I would stick to the recommendations in this video.
Thankyou. For continuous recording and bigger files I set it at 1080. Ibtriek 4 and 2k but files kept stopping due to the size. What fps do you recommend for recording walks.
Thanks for the good information. i have macbook air 2017 and it hangs a lot when playing 4k videos. is this normal? It plays with Quik on iphone 8 without any problem, but I can't do anything with macbook in 4k ... I bought gopro hero 9 new and this makes me very sad
QUESTION- I film action (snowmobile videos) and was wondering what settings to film in. I want to film in something that can allow me to add slow mo in the editing part without the frames looking choppy (choppy slow motion). But I want to record at normal speed. What setting should I have??
it's a 4:3 sensor, I don't understand why you can't do 5k 4:3. I would want to use the 4:3 to use reelsteady to stabilize drone footage with it (4:3 becomes 16:9 with reelsteady, cropped not stretched in this case)
Yes and no. Yes to reduce the shutter speed and get more motion blur. No, because even with ND filters you will not always get the perfect shutter speed on an action camera and the electronic stabilization needs a high shutter speed to work properly.
Excellent...and your accent makes your video sound more intelligent as well.. Where is the accent mode on the sound menu..? Oh..here it is..I'll try Arnold Schwarzenegger mode.. 😎
I accidentally was recorded on high resolution when I was hiking On mountain Aurthr pass New Zealand Didn't give me a good view 4k or 2.7k which one do u recommend ??

Do you have a recommendation on whether to use H.264+HEVC or just HEVC? Any file size difference?

This is such a helpful video! I just picked up the 9. I'm wondering, for alpine skiing videos, what small changes should I make from what is in the video?
I would probably shoot in 4K/60 most of the times - just for slow motion.
What can be the better setting for outdoor vlogging. Plz reply.
Thx for the tutorial, very helpful
Very interesting video for beginner videomaker. I bought GoPro last month and I'll try to follow your advice

Why can't I set my hero 9 to 2.7K 120 FPS? I must have a setting wrong somewhere. It will only let me go to 60 FPS when I'm in 2.7K. Is there something I need to change somewhere else?
2.7K 120 FPS

BITRATE STD - SHUTTER AUTO - EV COMP -0.5
WB AUTO - ISO MIN 100 - ISO MAX 400
SHARPNESS LOW - COLOR FLAT

Good stuff, any thoughts on what you'd suggest for filming tennis via a tripod, used for instructional purposes, so not much editing done in post.
Hi Jeff, for this purpose I would probably shoot in 5K/30 or 4K/30. Should you need slow motion then 4K60. Everything else set to standard if you don't want to edit - perhaps sharpness set to medium

Hi again. For recording night laser attraction, what setting do you recommend?
There is only one thing really important: use a low shutter speed such as 24 fps
thanks for the info

Hmm. Try to avoid the HEVC-Codec (H.265) - so set your GoPro to H.264 - this will help!

You can just shoot in a high frame rate (60fps or even 120fps) and put your footage on a 24fps or 30fps timeline.
Thanks. Bro
it's a 4:3 sensor, I don't understand why you can't do 5k 4:3. I would want to use the 4:3 to use reelsteady to stabilize drone footage with it (4:3 becomes 16:9 with reelsteady, cropped not stretched in this case)
The sd card SANDISK EXTREME, which the site gopro sella with the same gopro, is right for the gopro hero 9 ( with all resolution and framerate)??
Yes
How can I make appear the snail short cut in the upper left of the Standard setting?
Great video, what software do you recommend for editing
Thx Cesar, I use FCPX (on Mac)
Thanks mate blessings
Would you recommend shooting with an ND filter on a snowy day?
Yes and no. Yes to reduce the shutter speed and get more motion blur. No, because even with ND filters you will not always get the perfect shutter speed on an action camera and the electronic stabilization needs a high shutter speed to work properly.
@@MountMediaChannel but will the ND filter cut out the reflection and whiteness from the snow?
I’m struggling to get settings which don’t give a poor pixelated image in GoPro 9 for fast rapids and waterfalls. What do you suggest?
Water can lead to compression artifacts - you should raise the resolution (to 4k or 5k) - you can also try to set the bitrate to high
please what setting should i use when video about the road when driving
I would use the settings of this video - or perhaps a higher frame rate, such as 4K/60.
quite useful
What setting do you recommend for blogging and video tutorial?
I would use the settings of this video with 24/25 fps. If you don't need the best possible quality you could also shoot in 4K or 2.7K.
How does background blur work?
Excellent...and your accent makes your video sound more intelligent as well..
