- Timothy Piazza’s parents, Jim and Evelyn, and his brother, Mike, sit down with TODAY’s Matt Lauer for an emotional interview about the 19-year-old Penn State student’s tragic death, apparently due to a fraternity hazing incident. “They basically treated our son as road kill and a rag doll,” Jim Piazza says.

Timothy Piazza's Father: He Was Treated Like 'A Rag Doll’ During Hazing | TODAY
How hard is it to pick up the phone and dial 911, 3 year olds have even done it.
My Condolences To The Piazza Family. I Hope You Get Justice For Your Loss.
As a former Penn State graduate, I'm utterly disappointed, disgusted, and appalled of how the university officials handled this case. I'm so deeply sorry for this tragedy and for the family that has to go through this pain. Perhaps, Mr. Baron should shut all of the fraternities and sororities at Penn State. The Penn State Greek community nurtured an environment so permissive of excessive drinking and hazing that it emboldened its members to repeatedly act with reckless disregard to human life.
animal house days are over. ban all alcohol
@@dattape2828 I agree, ban alcohol.
Um, that boy drank all on his own. Nobody forced alcohol down his throat. How about personal responsibility? Im assuming he was underage, and knew that underage drinkingnis illegal, and that drinking too much regardless of age can be dangerous. If he was too stupid to know better, maybe he shouldnt have been at that college to begin with. No sympathy
I think any organization that gets one count of proven hazing, that organization should be immediately and completely banned from campus. One single hazing incident. Zero tolerance. Hazing doesn’t just happen in fraternities and sororities, so just banning them won’t stop hazing. But universities just want that sweet, sweet dollar. They don’t care about the students, so they don’t do anything until someone dies, then they do the bare minimum.
@@daniellebenfield95 I agree that the boy should've known better and should've not been so careless but I think the blame should be shared with both the boy and the people who did the hazing. This type of excessive hazing needs to stop and the boy should've been more wary.
It was supposed to be "hazing and alcohol free paternity" tired of lies fed to people by these types. It's disgusting. And the poor family that has to live without their son! They were negligent for leaving him there for 12 hours. I'm angry 😡 for this family!
Sue Penn State Mr Piazza
I am so so sorry for this family. I hope the boys get the severest of penalties. it's absolutely disgusting - no regard for human life.
This shows the mentality of some athletes when they go from high school to college-throw the book at them because obviously their parents never did!
I feel for his parents. They shouldn't have to lose their son so senselessly. Why isn't America making hazing and bullying a serious crime? Why? Wtf! America!
Agree!
Welcome to Happy Valley....Penn State setting the world on fire once again...and again...and again...and again....
Im not against greek life. I myself want to be part of it when I get to college next year. Hearing about this makes me more aware of how dangerous it can be to drink to much. I feel like parents should have a conversation with their kids about partying and drinking because its sadly something that happens. Fraternities are more likely to have incidents like this because there is no rule on wether they are allowed to party or not. Sororities on the other hand do have a "no party" rule.
ohh remember when matt lauer had a job??
Heartbreaking ....yes it terrifies me for next generation
This is stupid- the only thing I say about the alcohol HE drank the alcohol- they should of called 911
to this day, I do not know what fraternities or sororities are for.
Who the **** disliked this video
My heart goes out to him and his family. But he should of known what he was getting himself into. If I was in his shoe's I would of said no and walked out and never spoke to them ever again. You should never have to drink four big cups of liquor to feel excepted. That's nonsense. R.I.P to him.
Nobody from the college went to his funeral. That look guilty af!
Unleash the victims brother.. He looks like he wants to decimate them..
HERES THE THING ABOUT ALCOHOL......... THERE'S A DEVIL IN EVERY BOTTLE. ❤️☮️🙏
Of course no one came from the sorority, he didn't make it pass the initiation. He wasn't their bro yet, or even a person in need of help.
See ya Matt Lauer.
In my opinion everyone who was a art of killing this young man should get the death penalty.
This so sad
Terrible
there's something wrong with that University and it is Trump old school.
LilianO This occurred at Pennsylvania State University 4 hours west of Trump's Alma mater which was the University of Pennsylvania (an ivy league school in Philadelphia)
Not trumps old school. Probably two hours away from trumps school.
This guy was not kidnapped you know.
Timothy knew what he signed up for
when parents don't take responsibility for what their son CHOSE to partake in. Blame others will solve nothing. God Bless them
How is this their fault? Stfu, the fault was of those men who gave them that much.
this is sad, but he wasn't forced he decided to be in that party and he is the one that decided to drink in the party , sad but not totally the friends fault can't blame them
Alex Herr oh u saw the videos
they not no friends if they can't pick up the phone and call 911
@Alex Herr Obviously, you have not seen the video for you to speak this way! Secondly, being a newbie doesn’t know what to anticipate in the so called hazing!
@@famf6234 have you seen the video? I haven’t found it.
Ok the hospital should have been called immediately not just left there they should have helped him not left him in that condition
