Rat Rods are in my opinion the best thing to come out of the history of the automobile so far. I just really like the creativity and, well, the color of rust. :)

to me, ratrods are a combination of building skill level, interpretations of what a hotrod is and level of satisfaction. (example)someone with high levels of building skills,a high level where he becomes satisfied and an idea that it aint done till it cost over $100k will build the show car. others who cant afford, cant build well OR are satisfied with something that is still rusty and no floors then you get the ratrod. but just as with anything with diff people come diff opinions and diff cars

John... I hear you... I feel the same way as you do. I like both. For every rat rod out there there is a different level of still involved. I think the main thing is that they be safe. I have seen some rat rods that any speed over about 10 mph would be dangerous. I agree in most cases the lack of funds is the major factor. Sounds like you have a good plan..!!

im building a 31 stude coupe, and the question has come up.do i build it ratrod or conventional?. ratrod would be done sooner and would get more attention...but it wouldnt show off my building ability.. I chopped it,channeled it even cut it down the middle and made it wider by 6 " its got a stock 69 lincoln 365 hp 460, a 4spd toploader..comment on it let me know which way you think i should go .2 videos "Rat Rod Frankenstude Too 2nd walk around" or Rat Rod Frankenstude Too 1st walkaround"

I have decided to build my coupe somewhere in between the all out rat and the show. not because i dont like either. I in fact love both, to me there are no bad rods just different ones. but my building skills, level of satisfaction and what i feel my car should look like (not to mention my $ situation) demand that I build mine in this middle of the road category. I have $3500 into it so far and I think I can finish it for under $5k hopefully less.

I made the video about eight years ago. It has had over 107,000 views. I did not have a video camera in those days. I think you are only the second bad review I have had on this slide show....!!!! Anyway thanks for looking.
