+555 Gear LOL, we live very close to a big RAF airbase so I have actually seen everything from bombers, apaches and even the new Osprey fly over almost weekly. So if that happened I would'nt be that surprised! but it would be really cool Great comment, best regards, TGV
Great video and great review as always TGV! My wife gave me the Navitimer 01, 43mm with the in house movement in August, I'm glad the in-house caliber updated the date adjusting issue, didn't know of that issue until I saw your video now. Looking forward to watching more videos soon!
Of all the models of the Navitimer I've seen the dial on that one is one of the nicest I've seen. Great video Tristano! Operation save for a Navitimer is a go lol.
Nicely done! I came across a Breitling Navitimer World GMT on a black crocodile strap. I got it at a reasonable price. It's the larger 46mm case. I was also able to score an authentic Breitling 24mm bracelet for @ $725.00 USD. The piece came w/o the box & papers. I was able to obtain all the essential manuals/booklets as well as an authentic leather Breitling box. Like the videos you do for us watch folk. I like the anachronistic reference... I've read that Breitling manufactured some of the instruments for the Spitfire, so displaying that marvel of British engineering is undoubtedly appropriate! Keep up your great reviews...looking for Oris Aquis reviews. Have you done any yet? Cheers
It's nice to see that you like your Breitling 's. I started with a jupiter pilot in 87', then a Navi timer in 90' and finally an aerospace in 01'.My first two average public didn't know what a Breitling was unless you are like me (a pilot)
+Mr Cholmondeley Hello Cholmy, I got a special delivery today, I wanted to say thank you so much!!! It made my day, can I have you email so I can thank you properly? Thank you. Best regards, TGV
Was looking forward to this one ;) I'm really impressed by it! Breitling was the first luxury brand I discovered at very young age. I remember looking through the window of a jewellery store on holiday admiring the Navitimer (when I was about 13 or 14 years old). But my love for Breitling has faded away over the years as I discovered new brands and got more and more involved in horology. I discovered so many brands that I forgot about the one that started it all :) . The video makes me feel nostalgic... Maybe I should save up for one :)
+gillmaes FANTASTIC comment, you should reclaim that magic, perhaps even find a Navi from the year of that memory, that would be so rewarding I am sure. Good luck, I hope you get back to Breitling. Thanks for sharing, Best regards, TGV
I greatly admire your videos and approach to life. No profanity, respect for the viewer and informative. Breitling is huge in the States but curiously less so in the UK, I wonder why? Good to see you back in Blighty and have a great Christmas. Avanti!
I watched that intro 5 times and it never stops to amaze me the TGV production. Wonder why Archie is sounding like a drown man and so threatened by TGV on his channel. However your review is on point, no swearing, spitting or spluttering just on point and very eloquently reviewed.
Another great video friend, I love your MACRO work, really really gives the viewer the appropriate details that a watch of this caliber so deserves. Ciao!
+itsleo Thank you Leo, I must admit the light has been more changeling compared to when I shoot in the USA, the dark UK skies don't help but greatly appreciated. Best regards, TGV
Love the watch, nice review. I would consider it one of my grail watches that someday would like to own. I also never understood some of the backlash Breitling gets from some watch collectors.
I've owned an Omega Speedmaster since the pre-Lunar landing. I cherish my Speedy. However, I've always loved the Navitimer. It's got a built in E-6B. As Kahn would say, "simple, soft, beautiflul".
A wonderful review and enjoyed the country field shot to open the video. However, the greatest pilot watch of all time is mine. It's a Glycene Airman that I bought new in 1969 during the Vietnam war. It was on my wrist for every mission I flew during my 4 years as a USAF pilot. I still wear it on occasion. It was serviced a few years ago but runs a bit slow. It lives in a nice display case and brings back many fond memories of youthful friends and adventures.
I'm currently sporting a beautiful Seiko quartz, she is 27 years old, renovated by my good self. 7t346a00... She is the most beautiful PILOT watch in the world...
Great video of one astonishing watch. Really impressed by this dial. That blue reflecting the light this way is just "pure class". Even though nowadays planes are so high-tech, in the toughest moment watches like that will prove themselves really important.
Moin TGV, As I learned the other day, I have to be cautiously when it comes to the use of vocabulary and it's meaning in English... ;) But I hope I'm safe to mention, that IMHO this timepiece is iconic. If someone would ask me to describe a Breitling, I would use the Navitimer as an example. I remembered the day when a colleague of mine showed me his Navitimer with gold case and black dial he got from his wife. I'm afraid my eyes popped out and I have to admit that I was a bit jealous to have no wife who can make me such gifts... ;) Best regards, Claus
hello mate hope your well, really enjoyed the navitimer videos, i will be getting a navitimer 01 46mm gold bezel very soon. your excellent reviews just about made my mind up. cheers mate take care. John
Good choice! This model is a legend of aviation. I, the Aviator and every day I enjoy this beauty in my life. I have a NAVI A23322 with diamonds. Chronomat B13047 1992 year of manufacture
Wow, my favourite weather too! Cant stand heat and Im not a big fan of sun either. Btw, the Breitling is just amazing and so is the colour combination. Personally own a Seawolf (a bit garish, tho), but I do love the brand.
not only do I share your beautiful taste in watches, but I love rain and dull cloudy days - best weather to bring out the lustre of a fine time piece!! PK Nyul Sydney Australia
Greetings, Gov! Great video as per usual. The blue face of that navitimer hypnotized me, it's really made me come around on the watch. I used to think they were rather underwhelming and commonplace. Then I recently learned that Breitling was the first company to make a mechanical wristwatch chronograph, and their stock grew dramatically. Amazing what difference a bit of history can do, eh? Anyways happy holidays to you and yours. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Carl H.
Very nice TGV...... This to will be my next watch purchase. It will be a bigger version as my wrist is large but they are such an iconic and beautiful timepiece that I cannot go without! I think it will compliment my Breitling Chronomat 44. I lean toward the white dial but all are so beautiful its hard to chose!! If I have not said it before, congrats to a very nice purchase!!
Really great video or I should say videos on the Breitling Navitimer. Thank you. Watching your videos on the Navitimer got me interested in them and I like gadgets and gimmicks which is why I like the aviation slide rule bezel to calculate average miles per hour, miles per gallon, batting average, tips, etc. I recently purchased a Navitimer B01 43mm and I am over the moon for it. I can not stop looking at the dial with it's reverse panda look and sunburst effect. I has the sapphire display caseback which is very cool. I am a Navitimer guy. I think my watch collecting days are over because I don't think I could buy a watch that I think I would like more than my Navitimer. It is a tool watch but at the same time it has a certain elegance to it as well.
Nice watch a true classic.I just pulled the Trigger on the navitimer heritage A35350 All blue dial with silver sub dials flyback Chronograph and quick date set with the classic 7 link navitimer bracelet integrated so gives a watch and more proportionate look around the wrist it's 43mm which is a sweet spot for my 7 and a half inch wrist, was such a hard peace to find as they don't come on the market that often I missed out on the opportunity two years ago and kicked myself, but luckily one come up the other day box and papers mint condition and it originally come from tourneau Las Vegas, the series ran from 2001 till 2007 and mine was a 2006 so very lucky it really is a unique look for a navitimer a real Grail for me i'm absolutely buzzing, have you seen this watch TVG ? I never saw in person only the review on watchuwant I took the risk and it paid off it's a keeper that I will never sell.
+Ben Lapdog Hi Ben, I actually got it in Barcelona when I used to live there. I can't remember the name of the store but I remember exactly where the store is. Its a great jacket, sorry I can't help anymore. Thanks for the comment, Best regards, TGV
Tristano. Excellent review on your new buy! Whilst I would love to own one the dial is bit too busy. Having said that it is a beautiful colour and build quality is tops. Choice of case size is perfect. Two different beasts to duel and bet in it's modest way the Speedy will hold the banner high! Buon Natale e felice anno nuovo!! Just got back from the UK weather looked the same I left it.
+Mike James LOVE the x-patrol, I bought it twice in fact, I love the 7750 movement. I had it on the rubber strap and it was killer. It will serve you well, enjoy it, the Navi will always be there. Thanks for the comment, Best regards, TGV
Hi TGV! I am Michele, from Italy. Have you ever heard about the Zenith Cairelli CP-2? It's an aviation watch from the same years of the first Navitimer, around 1954, it was given to the Italian Air Force during the 70's. I think it could be a good addition to your collection! Keep up with your fantastic channel! Ciao!
+Michele Calò Ciao Michele! That was my Grandfather's (from Italy) name. I have not heard of that watch so will check it out now, thank you! Very cool indeed, Grazie mille! Best regards, TGV
+The Urban Gentry Thank you for sharing your passion with us! Definitely the best watch related channel on RUclips. Please, let me know what do you think about that Zenith. Best regards, Michele.
Hey TGV, loved the Review. High quality and passion, which is not reached by other watch channels so far. However, I missed one point: The poor water resistance of this watch. I have a Navitimer and adore it, but for me it is annoying that you have to be kind of careful and protect it.
+TheXBalderX VERY VERY good point, its like most watches from this genre is VERY lacking, a meagre 30m. Makes it almost like a dress watch. Thank you, Best regards, TGV
I can't wait for your comparison of this with your newly acquired Cosmonaut. Used prices seem similar but this version is much more appealing (though I do like the hand wind on the cosm.)
Hello TGV, I don't want to come of sounding nit-picking but I'm sure you are aware that the more accurate, and really the proper way to measure an 'internal' dimension, such as the lug width, is to use the two outward-facing edges at the top and measure from in-between the lugs. Otherwise you are really only measuring the width of the band at that particular point.
Hello there again i have to say your love for this peice is infectious and equally passionate this is my grail proabably never be able to afford it but still seeing someone like yourself appreciate this in the way you do just makes me want one even more .i know in the high end scean the navitimer isnt a big deal some would even call them a user or in extreme cases a beater. But i dont see them that way at all the history and work like nature really tells the story well and gives me the major fizz like no other. Well tgv bless you sir and enjoy .as i know you will of course .
I would love one, but its too expensive for me at the moment..but I would certainly love to have one! For now, I've got a Casio Edifice for Christmas with a slide rule (model no. EF-527l-1av), very happy with it!
Do you have to be careful around water given slide rule and only 30m resistance? Dont want to have to worry about a downpour / humid environments. It’s why the premier or aviator 8 are more appealing.
Great review TGV. I've been watching your channel for a while. First time commenting. I think I would like to have either this or a speedy to add to my collection, could you possibly do a comparison between these two great icons in the future? Cheers, Chad
Have to say, if I ever decide to buy a Breitling this would be the very model I'd go for. While a "tool watch" it's quite elegant. More so I'd say than a typical Speedmaster. By the way, I got to meet Nick English from Bremont (co-founder) at the local Bremont dealer here in Denver 2 days ago. Very nice gentleman. Speaking of which, check out Bremont sometime. I had a Bremont MB II a few years back - nice watches. Oh and I like that Spitfire model - very cool. Cheers, John
All Valjoux 7753 based watches seem to be tall, I have 2 Speedmasters that are 15 mm. I can't believe Breitling didn't come up with a similar solution to Omega for the jump date by installing some sort of pusher around 9 or 10 o'clock. Otherwise an iconic watch.
TGV, how about a review of Barbour jackets. I would of bet that you would be wearing one in the English countryside. Would love to hear your opinion on the jackets. Keep up the great work. Gods speed.
+R Zimmerman Hi, hope you are well my friend. Funny thing is, I was so close to buying one before I left for the UK, I have put it off for next year as truthfully, I was saving for the Navi, as well as the massive cost of this time of year (and the traveling too), I will be covering Barbor Jackets next year and as you can see from my previous videos on them, it's a much loved brand. Great comment, stay tuned I guess. Best regards, TGV
I've just bought a navitimer with a 7753 movement in it. Can someone explain how to change the quickset date function rather than going all the way round 24 hours?
I think the luminescence could be better, I feel the red arrow on the chrono obstructs the 12 o'clock and is poor design, no lume at the 3,6 and 9 o'clock does not do it for me. All other parts of the watch are fantastic, love the convexity of the crystal and the design of the screw down case back is extremely nice. I think the buckle is in a class of its own, just fantastic! I think the watch is 9 out of 10, but the lume drops it down a full point. Great vid, thanks for sharing!
This is my dream watch. Everything about it is stunning. Thank you so much for the video. Looking forward to seeing it on other straps. If you had to compare how it feels to wear compared to another watch, what would it be?
+Matt Lowe Thank you Matt, great question, I would say the watch that comes close is the Hamilton X-patrol. A worthy dream watch indeed, hang in there my friend, you will get there! Best regards, TGV
Amazing piece. Great review. Can't believe 19 down-voted this. Perhaps there are 19 people out there that don't know what 'Ciao' means, and think it's some sort of insult?
It's a nice watch, and I totally get the aviation influence. But as a pilot I don't see myself using it in flight. It will be long time before I can afford this watch. I just saw this watch today at a store. Extremely nice but expensive. Great video by the way
+John Alexandropoulos Thank you, I actually got it in a leather goods seller in Barcelona so I am not really sure, sorry I could help. Best regards, TGV
Brietling should have more in house movements for the price. I've always favored Breitling over rolex and omega when it came to chronographs. Very nice watch, the black bird edition is my pick ^_^
+revnow84 Great comment and I agree about more in house movements, I too would like to see that. Just out of interest, why do you favour Breitling over the others, would be interesting to hear. Thank you, Best regards, TGV
TGV Breitling Navitimer is just a nice watch overall. Despite that resale value doesn't hold up as well as a daytona. It doesn't matter, the polished case and face makes me smile. Lastly from a far the design would be more recognized compared to a omega or rolex.
oo and a Breitling chronomat from Early 1940 37'5mm must be One of the original. but i have a hård time finding anything about it on Breitling webbpage where you can enter the serialnumber its just to Old. where do One serch?
+schwagier Hello, I got it in Barcelona when I used to live there. I can't remember the name of the store sadly but I Sorry I can't help anymore. Thanks for the comment, Best regards, TGV
+Cameron Wilson YES! I could not bring them to the UK as I only travel with a carry on bag. These plastic ones are very light. I will use them once I return to NYC. Cheers, Best regards, TGV
Brilliant video my friend. I'm only 17 but I'm getting my first watch for my 18. I'm thinking a tag heure or a Baumere et mercier (please excuse the spelling very dyslexic). If you have any suggestions for around that price range I would love to hear them. King regards Tom
+Ploop Lover No need to apologise, I am dyslexic too, I struggle with it every day so I know exactly what it is like. Just to be clare what is your budget? I would like to help. Thank you Tom, Best regards, TGV
Congrats on the new acquisition. The Navi is a lovely piece and deserves a place in every collection. You will find the straps last longer with the Deployent clasp. If you have not done so already, you might want to check out the WUS sight for dedicated forums on different watch brands including Breitling: forums.watchuseek.com/f15/
have a question. I have a navitimer but it doesn't have the jump date, i know its genuine because i've sent it to breitling for many services. Is mine a special one? its the 2001 model and its the limited edition red arrows 200 pieces
Was practically expecting some WWII bomber to land in the field! Glad to see you're enjoying the country and your cool blue Navi...
+555 Gear LOL, we live very close to a big RAF airbase so I have actually seen everything from bombers, apaches and even the new Osprey fly over almost weekly. So if that happened I would'nt be that surprised! but it would be really cool

I love it! I lived near a private airport in California for a few years with lots of vintage aircraft...amazing stuff!
+555 Gear Can't be that far from Lakenheath.
I thought you were going to hop a ride in a WW1 plane.
This is my favorite watch of all time since its release. Well done! Subscribed!

Great review. Finally some love for Breitling and the Navitimer on a respected watch channel. Thanks and a hearty BRAVO ZULU.....Cheers!
Cheers for someone who appreciates good weather. I have Reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder; too much blue sky and sunshine depresses me.
One of the most beatiful watches! A real icon!
The navitimer has always been one of my favourite watches, such a unique and original design. Lovely to see you have one!
As always, have a good one.

Brietling is the only watch brand which feels cheaper for the quality you get, even Rolex or jlc don’t feel this premium
Very cool indeed,
Grazie mille!
Best regards,
TGV
+The Urban Gentry Thank you for sharing your passion with us! Definitely the best watch related channel on RUclips.
Please, let me know what do you think about that Zenith.
Best regards,
Michele.
i'm surprised you managed to roll the intro TGV, trying to click your fingers in those leather gloves is a little tricky ;) lol
Good review btw mate
+kiely 456 Haha, thank you, very kind.
Best regards,
TGV
Hey TGV, loved the Review. High quality and passion, which is not reached by other watch channels so far. However, I missed one point: The poor water resistance of this watch. I have a Navitimer and adore it, but for me it is annoying that you have to be kind of careful and protect it.
+TheXBalderX VERY VERY good point, its like most watches from this genre is VERY lacking, a meagre 30m.
Makes it almost like a dress watch.
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
I can't wait for your comparison of this with your newly acquired Cosmonaut. Used prices seem similar but this version is much more appealing (though I do like the hand wind on the cosm.)
You are a lucky man, this has to be one of the best looking watches ever made!
Can't wait to get one myself :)
+Martijn Groot Wow, that's a big statement but very true :D
Thank you my friend.
Best regards,
TGV
great review and iconic timepiece
+EDC Gunner Thank you EDCG!
Best regards,
TGV
Hello TGV, I don't want to come of sounding nit-picking but I'm sure you are aware that the more accurate, and really the proper way to measure an 'internal' dimension, such as the lug width, is to use the two outward-facing edges at the top and measure from in-between the lugs. Otherwise you are really only measuring the width of the band at that particular point.
Great vid TGV!
+AJR Benn Thank you :D
Best regards,
TGV
What's your opinion of the Breitling Avenger Blackbird 44mm or 48mm? This is one of my dream watches!
Really nice watch. I have i Breitling chronomat with Blue dial and White subdials to 41mm. love your accent.
I love love love the Navitimer!!!! Great choice tgv!
Love slide rule watches! This blue looks great.
+João Vitor Amaral Silva Thank you Joao, as I know you like larger pieces, have you considered a Navi?
Best regards,
TGV
I would love one, but its too expensive for me at the moment..but I would certainly love to have one! For now, I've got a Casio Edifice for Christmas with a slide rule (model no. EF-527l-1av), very happy with it!
+João Vitor Amaral Silva Enjoy your piece, man!
Cheers,
Chad
Have to say, if I ever decide to buy a Breitling this would be the very model I'd go for. While a "tool watch" it's quite elegant. More so I'd say than a typical Speedmaster. By the way, I got to meet Nick English from Bremont (co-founder) at the local Bremont dealer here in Denver 2 days ago. Very nice gentleman. Speaking of which, check out Bremont sometime. I had a Bremont MB II a few years back - nice watches. Oh and I like that Spitfire model - very cool. Cheers, John
+John Price PS -- My Oppermann Swanfield wallet is scheduled for delivery this Friday. Can hardly wait! Ciao, John
Terrific watch. I love it. Hope to have one myself one day. Congrats.
How much did you pay for this time piece? Cannot find for less than 3200€. Especially the blue version seems to be quite rare.
today around 4.250€
Great review, nice watch Tristano!
Best regards,
TGV
Great video on an iconic time piece. Cheers.
+Bob FromBrisbane Thank you Bob!
Best regards,
TGV
I've just bought a navitimer with a 7753 movement in it. Can someone explain how to change the quickset date function rather than going all the way round 24 hours?
I was surprised that it did not come with a "quick change" date. My Heuer Cal 11 uses the same system. It is a pain when changing the date.
Best regards,
TGV
Amazing piece. Great review. Can't believe 19 down-voted this. Perhaps there are 19 people out there that don't know what 'Ciao' means, and think it's some sort of insult?
+Steve Bowden Thank you so much Steve, haha, indeed.
Best regards,
TGV
It's a nice watch, and I totally get the aviation influence. But as a pilot I don't see myself using it in flight. It will be long time before I can afford this watch. I just saw this watch today at a store. Extremely nice but expensive. Great video by the way
Howdy TGV, really enjoy your reviews and camera work...will you be getting a bar fridge covered in sponsors soon?
+BobSweete So glad to hear, Thank you!
Best regards,
TGV
I honestly thought this was going to be an affordable watch but saw the price and that is as much as an Omega man on the moon or a Rolex
question; what airplane is most compatible with the iconic The Breitling Navitimer A23322 ?
Hey, great video and a gorgeous watch! Would you mind sharing what jacket you were wearing during the intro? Thanks!
+John Alexandropoulos Thank you, I actually got it in a leather goods seller in Barcelona so I am not really sure, sorry I could help.
Best regards,
TGV
Brietling should have more in house movements for the price. I've always favored Breitling over rolex and omega when it came to chronographs. Very nice watch, the black bird edition is my pick ^_^
+revnow84 Great comment and I agree about more in house movements, I too would like to see that. Just out of interest, why do you favour Breitling over the others, would be interesting to hear.
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
My dad loves his white faced Navi! Just has to make sure it doesn't get wet all the time...that's why I'm a Sub and Seamaster guy ;)
Hi TGV, could you possibly in a future video talk about how to read/use the dial on your Navitimer?
TGV Breitling Navitimer is just a nice watch overall. Despite that resale value doesn't hold up as well as a daytona. It doesn't matter, the polished case and face makes me smile. Lastly from a far the design would be more recognized compared to a omega or rolex.
I'm quite taken with that black leather jacket. Would you care to disclose where one could buy it? Much appreciated. Happy holidays!
As a pilot and a physicist phd I have to agree fully. The original Navitimer is the watches of all watches.
worldbestpilot the world model has a gmt dial. Even more useful in my opinion.
As an astronaut and numerous Nobel Prize winner I agree ☝🏽
I want one!
Just starting watching your channel. Nice good content.
How many watches do you have if i may ask?
Best regards from Norway!
oo and a Breitling chronomat from Early 1940 37'5mm must be One of the original. but i have a hård time finding anything about it on Breitling webbpage where you can enter the serialnumber its just to Old. where do One serch?
TGV, could you please share with us where did you buy your black leather jacket? Looks really cool! cheers
+schwagier Hello, I got it in Barcelona when I used to live there. I can't remember the name of the store sadly but I Sorry I can't help anymore.
Thanks for the comment,
Best regards,
TGV
Utterly gorgeous watch.
I loved the Intro! Perfect ha ha
+Cameron Wilson Thank you Cameron,
Glad you liked it.
Best regards,
TGV
Looks like a Spitfire there...Did you make the model yourself? Beautiful watch too, may it wear well.
Also another question, you haven't been using the electric calipers Marathon sent you. Plan to use them in the future?
+Cameron Wilson YES! I could not bring them to the UK as I only travel with a carry on bag. These plastic ones are very light.
I will use them once I return to NYC.
Cheers,
Best regards,
TGV
Brilliant video my friend. I'm only 17 but I'm getting my first watch for my 18. I'm thinking a tag heure or a Baumere et mercier (please excuse the spelling very dyslexic). If you have any suggestions for around that price range I would love to hear them.
King regards
Tom
I'm sorry about the name, just call me Tom
Oh... Sorry for bothering
+Ploop Lover No need to apologise, I am dyslexic too, I struggle with it every day so I know exactly what it is like.
Just to be clare what is your budget? I would like to help.
Thank you Tom,
Best regards,
TGV
+The Urban Gentry around the £1000-£1500 anything or just over around that price range
Congrats on the new acquisition. The Navi is a lovely piece and deserves a place in every collection.
You will find the straps last longer with the Deployent clasp.
If you have not done so already, you might want to check out the WUS sight for dedicated forums on different watch brands including Breitling: forums.watchuseek.com/f15/
....quite a busy dial... Great review.
have a question. I have a navitimer but it doesn't have the jump date, i know its genuine because i've sent it to breitling for many services. Is mine a special one? its the 2001 model and its the limited edition red arrows 200 pieces
