Just saw this, I know the video is a bit old by now, but if you still don't know what the chronograph and all the numbers in the watch are, they are something called a flight computer. It's a really genius instrument for calculating different things in flight (or in any instance) if you don't have calculators, or maybe even if you're from a place where they don't use Miles pr hour, or gallons, or so on .. then you can use the inside to the outside, or outside to the inside to calculate. It's super easy to use once you learned it. Just wanted to say that in case no one else had. Going to buy me one of those next year. Finally doing it, adding it to my collection! Thanks for the video.
Beautiful watch! Congratulations on owning such a high end watch, and a sentimental favorite, coming from your father. I did own a watch from my Dad, who passed in 1988, but someone made me an offer I just couldn’t afford to pass on, so now I no longer own my Dads Blancpain fifty fathom milspec. Well at least I’m out of debt now even if there wasn’t much left over. It has allowed me to purchase a few inexpensive watches. Thank you for the fantastic review as always!!!
Just starting your videos from the start!!! I have the Navitimer Heritage Panda its a stunning watch that I'll never sell. Mine to was a gift from my wife for my 40th birthday. Its lovely to see how your channel has grown over the years Jody, the production today compared to these early years is vast but enjoyable non the less. 😃👍
I hope by now you've payed around some with that slide rule bezel. It'll do basic multiplication, division as well as unit conversions etc. The original analog smart watch.
hey just picked this up in black...I love it....I also picked up a Seiko Chrono....poor Seiko hasn't seen my wrist yet ...lol.. breitling does some pretty impressive things compared to other makers
I also have a Breitling Navitimer 01 AB012127/C889.. mine has the sky blue dials and has the stainless steel bracelet. The leather one's need changing every 4 years roughly. A lovely time piece never the less.
While the transparent case back of the new 2018 model looks really cool, the only problem is the logo is non-winged. But the previous model with a beautiful winged logo has no transparent back and you need to go for 46mm to get both crystal back and winged logo which is way too big for my wrist. Finally I’ve chosen the previous model which looks the same as yours. Just a bit disappointed for the normal case back instead of crystal. Anyway it’s satisfying. Change the logo to non-winged, what were they thinking?
Nice watch. I am a pilot, and honestly I have never used or needed a watch during flying. If there was some reason such as the failure of the instrument panel clock, and the GPS clock, I suppose it might be nice to see the time, but then a simple 2 hand watch would work just fine. My best friend is a 777 captain, and he does not own a watch.
Wonderful review. Actually on the subject of servicing, Breitling is known to have some of the best customer service in the industry in that regard. They are one of the most reasonably priced to service and are awesome at honoring their warranties.
Thanks for this review,I am a fan of this watch but unfortunately not able to buy one. I saw the Beetling homage of Pagan Design. Do you have the intention to review it? I m talking about the B01 42 watch, so to speak the Pagan Design PD 1705.
An old video but a good one. Just seen an excellent 2016 version of this watch which has to be up there for Breitling purists. B01 in house movement. Golden classic Breitling wings logo. Anchor on the second hand counterweight. OK closed back but the Classic Breitling pedigree runs all the way through this piece. So, the dilemma is the current 2022 70 year anniversary Navitimer is stunning in, say, the sun ray copper - but that classic design you have is a hard act to follow. Plus the discount 6 years on is amazing at 35%. People rave over Rolex but Breitling make for fantastic slightly used bargains. That copper dial though…. Nevermind. You have the classic reference in my view. It’s Breitling through and through and who Knows which model I’ll pick up - hard thinking dilemma emoji. Lol!
Lol for some reason this old vid popped out... you were so much more Scottish back then. Accent and personality... at least on camera... have changed so much!
The is just a slide rule, no magic compass. It does linear relations (e.g. rule of three), is simple to use and very useful in everyday. There should be a handbook with the papers for the watch. The stiffness is an error that should be fixed, try to floss it.
I've never been a fan of Breitling except for that exact watch I always found to be extremely beautiful especially on brown leather exactly like that very very nice watch. Side note I believe the guy from bar rescue jon taffert wears that same watch on a black leather strap
Hey mate! Thanks for watching! The strap is from Banda.com in Hong Kong but is disappointing. Their custom made ones are bang on, but this was off the shelf and not as nice. Great colour combo though!
I've never owned a high end watch, and actually i don't really care to wear a watch, but i understand the importance of them in regards to your outfit and overall appearance in business. The watch in the video is almost identical to the watch i inspire to get in the near future! A perfect balance in terms of classic time piece and casual. Absolutely beautiful
Somehow the 3 white circles always remind me of the Disney logo. So I often refer to chronograph's as "Mickey Mouse" watches. (My girlgriend who likes Chronograph's rolls her eyes when I say that.)
Making the dial, tick marks, and hands in white gold would have been a nice touch, since the selling price certainly suggests that the watch is made of the finest materials. Sadly, the dial, tick marks, and hands are made of brass. BRASS...
Whoa...a rather different video compared to current ones (what I started with and am used to). Too soft-spoken here, I like your current ones, more lively and better audio.
Why would you baby that watch? Life is often shorter than you think, wear it now and enjoy it. Why worry about scratches when you dont intend to sell it?
Wow this video was early in the game!!! I hope Jodi still Has this Navitimer.

Wow, I didn't have to kill the sound of the video for the first few seconds. Awesome Navitimer. My favorite variant is the Blacksteel Cosmonaute.

As an ENORMOUS Breitling fan, I must say, the Navitimer is one of my faves. Great video. Wear that amazingly gorgeous time piece in good health, sir.

Beautiful watch. And the chronograph second hand resets to straight up 12; very rare.

Did not know you had a Navi. Very nice indeed.
Beautiful watch ! Watches are even more special when given by a member of your family !

I got the 01 46mm loving it everyday

The Aussie is taking over little by little every year.

nice looking watch & great honest review. agree the strap swop. goes well but keeps the spotlight on the dial
Great video! Congratulations on this beautiful watch, it's one of my favourite watches of all time.

Cool vid! Wrist size?
Would o prefer this to an omega speedmaster professional? Hmm.
Hey man, great review! I own this exact watch too, same reference. It's the coolest watch on the market if you ask me!
+Philip A Winged an absolute classic! Enjoy yours!
Amazing how far your RUclips channel has progressed
Thanks mate! This was my first ever video in front of the camera. I'm going to have to watch it again now.....
Guess I'm getting a tan strap for mine. It looks so good!
I have exactly like that but, with black band, I should’ve go with blue dial
Is the wing logo on the dial made of real gold?
Yes!
Have you ever considered the Sinn 903?
Its nice, but I already have a Navi, so no!
Keep up the good work JOMW! xx
Movement is B01 my friend! Great Vid mate! Side note... Breitling was just recently sold to CVC Capital partners.
+Kamikazekman thanks you neeeeeerd! I knew that you would know more about my watch that I do. We should totally do a CS&B sofa session.....
BEAUTIFUL strap and watch. Where did you get the strap?
Hey mate! Thanks for watching! The strap is from Banda.com in Hong Kong but is disappointing. Their custom made ones are bang on, but this was off the shelf and not as nice. Great colour combo though!

+zclee thank you, it is stunning and I'm very lucky to own such a beautiful watch.
Great video, great channel too! Well worth a subscription!
Paul
Thanks man, likewise!
Nice watch, is this 43mm?
Hello mate! Thanks for watching. Yes, it is a 43mm but wears relatively small. Still bags of wrist presence though. Cheers!
Stunning piece
Enjoy it now my friend a lifetime isnt a measurement of time.
My dream watch, one day maybe.

Ha! My first video with the dslr camera etc. I didn't have mic stand, so had to whisper. Early days....... Cheers!
Why would you baby that watch?
Life is often shorter than you think, wear it now and enjoy it. Why worry about scratches when you dont intend to sell it?
Daniel Meier with a watch over 5K hell yeah you have to look after it unless you shit money 😂
I wear mine even if its just at home since i have a dirty job.
Nice to put a face to voice and hands.
ashley butterworth even if it is that one! Thanks man.
Great watch! but that brown strap doesn't do this watch any justice it cheapens it out immensely(IMO)
How come all these people can afford one? I bust my balls and get nothing
👍❤
