Interstates are sometimes necessary due to time constraints. Back roads are the best rides. We actually get to see the country and the people. Thanks for sharing!
Great video. I'm looking forward to the rest of your trip. The old gas station was awesome. If you come back that way again take SR 73 south to Hillsboro then take SR 247 south to West Union then SR 41 south to Aberdeen. They are a lot more curves and hills. And maybe 30 minutes longer than US 68. Stay safe.
Congrats on reaching 11K BoDean!!!! It's been an enjoyment seeing your ride and adventure(s) with "The Guys!!!" Ride safe and keep crushing the miles and good times!!!
Enjoy your trip. Ty From Tennessee knows some great rides in Tennessee. Nothing better than riding with your buddies for a few days! Anxious to see some of your rides in Kentucky so myself and a couple of old Army buddies can ride them together.
We always do back roads! Super slabs we use if time pressed but ya never in a rush! Love that Texaco station you never know what you will find on them back roads!!
Dang Patrick, that’s very perceptive! My brother is a talented guy 😀 I have some behind the scenes footage when we recorded it, and he pretty much nailed it on the first take.
I thought that sounded familiar, read your comment and had to listen again! Love the Bogey biker gang. I could listen to Jay pick and sing all day. 🤙🏼🇺🇸
Brother that’s thee only way to ride….Backroads! That was some incredible landscape rolling past those beautiful farmhouse, nicely mown yards, corn sprouting just shy of knee high by the 4th of July we used to say. I’m biased, having grown up on a farm, Midwest roots. I’ve always said those small town people, the mom n pops diners, the conversations with locals along the way, are some on the most wholesome, genuine you’ll ever enjoy. Always enjoy idling thru those little rural farm towns about every 7-10 miles it seems…. Great stuff, looking forward to you and your peeps back roading it thru Kentucky.
Thanks for the video! I am with you on riding the back roads soo much to see and appreciate what America really is and made of. Kentucky has some Great back roads to explore keep the rubber on the down side.
Appreciate that Mark and it was a great ride out there and an amazing week with the boys. I do have a couple videos coming in the next week or so sharing the great road and good times.
Have a great trip! Yeah, I avoid interstates like the plague haha😅 Kentucky has some great riding, but some insane speed limits! Like 55 mph on twisty hilly roads with no shoulder insane! And the locals actually push that limit😮
Adrian, Mi. Lol my brother in law was from Adrian. I went on a date with a girl there back in 1979. What a very small world. Did not realize you were close to there. You live such an interesting life brother. Be safe, have fun.
Loved the relaxing ride through the backroads! I seem to always be in a hurry, it was nice to watch you take your time and just enjoy the ride. Nicely done 👊🏼
Rode 700 miles this weekend. 80 on the interstate. Drove trucks for 46 years 48 states. Worst fog I have ever seen on cherahola skyway. At least 10 miles with maybe 50 feet visability!
I just got back home from riding from central Ohio to Knoxville, Tn and back over a few days and on mostly on back roads. I went over that bridge and into Riply today as a matter of fact. What a joy. Have ya rode the triple nickel in Ohio. It runs from Zanesville down to the Ohio river. Nice twisties. Highly recommended.
Very nice, I used ride the back roads of Ohio around the lakes, when I first started riding many many years ago, now I live in Kentucky and the back roads of my county and neighboring county my riding grounds, no wide open corn fields here lol.
Been there, done the train thing on a sweltering day...found out why I was waiting for the train, after awhile...another train coming from the opposite direction had to come through first. That's the back roads for ya!
Very nice video. Living in southwestern Ohio, I have traveled and recognized many of the roads you traveled, however, I've never seen the Texaco station. Could you be more specific as to its whereabouts? I'd love to ride up and see it.
🛑🛑 You know, I was raised in a small town; however we moved to a smaller town after retirement. You know how I can tell, we live in a REALLY small town? I went to our local NAPA Store in our town for 1157 Light Bulbs yesterday. The bulbs were sold in a 2 pack. When checking out, the cashier asked me if I wanted both bulbs?? I said yes, confused…. and he proceeded to tell he would break the pack and just sell me the one bulb; if that’s all I needed. 😆🤣😂👍💯 When I went past the display on the way out, there were numerous packs hanging with one bulb remaining in the blister pack for sale. Now That’s A VERY Small Rural Town! 💯👍
You may or may not know but this is how I tour....all the time. The only time I'm taking a highway or interstate is if I absolutely have to make time to somewhere. At the end of the month Mrs. PaiN and I are heading out for 9 days on the back roads heading south and maybe over to the coast for a dip in the Atlantic(hopefully off the bike...). Then again at the end of July but this one with be northbound.
Totally get that and I hit the highway coming home just because I needed to eat up some miles in between the 35 mile an hour winds and the tractor trailers. I think I would’ve rather just take an extra day off and take the back road back. You know those days where you gotta feel like you’re turning left all the time. Just keep the bike straight. Was an amazing trip and can’t wait to hear about yours.
@@BoDean52 I still have tons of video from Moab and Memorial Day weekend in the Catskills that I have to get to. 😐 The HD Glides, my Victory XC and these new gen Goldwings are really the perfect bikes for country and back roads touring. They are super comfortable at the lower speeds, they handle those types of roads with ease and their lumpy, torquey engines are in their zones at back road speeds. Highways are the realm of cars, trucks and fast boys.
We rarely take the interstate. I loath the slab. We have even started traveling this way in the car. Usually, the back roads don't take that much longer and the scenery is 100% better, but on occasion the interstate makes more sense. I call it actually seeing America.... I didn't buy a bike to ride the interstates.
Hi BoDean, Recently moved from Monroe Mi area to southern Indiana /Kentucky . There are lots of beautiful riding areas although I miss riding along the many miles along the Great Lakes shoreline.I’m currently considering purchasing the new 2024 Road Glide and trading in my 2007 Electra Glide Classic. Do you think this would be a noticeable upgrade and just curious if Eagle financing is the best alternative with trading in my bike or am I better off finding other financing ? Appreciate your channel and keep up the great work !
Sorry, I’m just getting to this message Tim. Congrats on the movie you upgraded roads for sure. All I can tell you is I would never would’ve sold my 2021 if it wasn’t for how much different the 2024 Road Glide are. Let me know what you decide.
Nothing wrong taking the old U.S. Highways and old State Highways. There's always something new to see out there. Puts me in the mind of the Disney's Cars movie. The Interstates have killed rural America. I HATE the Interstates.
Gotta love those old school roads that are probably laid out 120 years ago for wagons lol. I grew up in central California. In the San Joaquin valley. Driving with my dad, out in the vineyards in our work truck, down road 3 1/2 was a kick😅.
Interstates are sometimes necessary due to time constraints. Back roads are the best rides. We actually get to see the country and the people. Thanks for sharing!
Texaco stations used to be called "The Big Star" and they also cashed payroll checks. Probably a main reason for filling station hold ups.
Great video. I'm looking forward to the rest of your trip. The old gas station was awesome.

Appreciate that advice I was kinda riding through, but it’s definitely worth a trip by itself
The backgrounds were spot on. Totally worth taking the extra time riding those.
It was a great experience on the way there and then of course, our time together riding as brothers
Great to see you riding the backroads, so much better than major highways. All you need it the the time.
You got that right!
