Snack, water, extra gas can(mainly for my buddy not me), USB port, tools, rain gear… I usually pack too much but every now and then I really need it and I’m glad I have it.
I'm planning a trip right now. Some good advice there. Our next trip is to Tobermory Ontario (Georgian Bay). My suggestion is to always look ahead at the possible weather you might be getting into. You never know if you will need foul weather gear, cold weather gear, or if you need to pack a bathing suit. We leave next Thursday, and we may need foul weather gear (always in my bags), and cool weather gear. No bathing suit this trip...
Going back to Ohio from Pennsylvania a week or so ago I was on the back roads. Had road signs saying road work up ahead. Well sure enough there was road work. They were laying down tar and pea gravel. Had one lane open and traffic stopped sitting in the hot sun. There was a vette behind me and I knew he wasn't too happy. The traffic started to move and it was sketchy. Pea gravel and tar on the bottom of my boots. Then it got on my floor boards after I put my feet up. Pea gravel thrown up into my air cleaner. The plinking of the gravel inside the fender. Did this for a mile or so. Not fun but it's all part of the adventure. Not sure if you can do it on the new glides or not but on my 2019 street glide when my fuel tank is full I can rock the bike back and forth (I have heard it called burping) and the gas in the filler neck will settle down into the tank and you can put more fuel in.
I like riding the backroads but at some point I start thinking I could have been there already if I took the highway. But I always end up loving the backroads and hating the highways. The struggle is real. On my last video my buddy announced he is selling his BMW S1000 RR if you want one of those crotch rockets.
Givi do a small plastic fuel container of about 1/2 a gallon. I always carry mine when touring. No fuel anxiety. Keep up the good work. In answer to a previous Duke vid yes you can tour an old R.K . The pic is me in France 2500 miles in 14 days.
Once a friend and I were crossing Nevada on Hwy 50 "the lonliest road in America" without topping off first. We made it to a gas station by the skin of our teeth. That was a scary feeling. Good video.
Did the same road and we were sweating it until we reached the gas station… it was pretty tight. What expanses of nothing out there. I just always think of people crossing that in a wagon and ox…. What cajones they had… I would have looked and just turned back towards civilization…. Course I also think that here in East Tennessee, who on earth would cross all of these Dadgum mountains? I would have been a horrible pioneer.😀
Yeah those portable power stations come in real handy when you need them. I have a jump starter one that I bought for my wife’s car then I bought ones for all my kids to keep in their cars. You can get them that are literally the size of a couple credit cards stacked together.
I’m rolling transition lens in my new glasses. Clear in the visor, dark with the visor up. Clear for night if required. Keep chasing the horizon mate ✌️🇦🇺
Buddy great ride video again! Love those pointers, cracked me up with that shoe issue you’re dealing with. We won’t tell (probably have the same problem😂🤣)
Once a friend and I almost ran out of gas on Hwy 50 "the loneliest road in America" because we did not top off. We made it to a gas station by the skin of our teeth. Now I always start with a full tank and gas up at half a tank. Good video.
We’ll be taking a trip next week to that area over there. Our group will be crossing the lake by ferry and riding from Hell to Paradise, MI. I look forward to that ride
Don't go for a ordinary power station, but choose for a 12 volt Lithium jump starter. It comes with the battery terminals for starting a motorcycle, it has USB and a light. You can charge your phone about seven times from zero to full. For boots I only use the LOWA combat boots, with the waterproof liner. Not cheap, perfect fit, and you walk all day in them.
I am not heard of those boots, but I know a lot of guys were combat boots and swear by them. I have a jump starter, but that’s not the purpose of what I have this for this is more of a power station back up than a jump.
So gas rule 1/4 tank start looking. Always fill up before returning to base camp at the end of every day. Phone charging power, get a good water proof case for your phone. Get a ciro cyber charger with the off set perch mount, and your phone will never die. Doc bailey's will water proof your boots and seat, also rain booties. Feel better.
He was. It's Ted from San Antonio. I have been writing that particular model bike around the dealership a lot lately. It's a nice bike but I don't think I'll ever get one . Be careful man
Oh broke my sunglasses out riding before, least was not prescription, but I ride with clear visor and on hot days I leave it up with and wear sunglasses, my helmet has the inner visor too, but I stopped to adjust them and did not take my gloves off and snapped them right across the nose piece, so ahd stop and buy another pair, was like 90 plus out that day and too hot for visor down. I have also pushed the gas limit few times, not many stations on our rural roads here in Kentucky lol.
I ware prescription glasses also and they are expensive if you have a couple pair, they are also a pain in the butt to swap out. Kinda solved that problem by getting a FF helmet with a drop down tented shield. Might look goofy but it works for me.
I take it as a challenge to see how far I can go whether I’m on my bike or in my truck. Last week I literally coasted into a Costco even though I had passed at least 6 stations. My wife is the exact opposite. She’s panicking if the gas gets below half a tank in her car. 🤭😂 As for sunglasses my wife swears that I have a sunglasses problem just because between my truck and the bike I have at least 7 or 8 pair along with a couple of clear and amber glasses. 🤑🤑
Restaurants: my spouse likes to play a game called “we’ll grab something along the way”. Now I know that the route I have picked is country backroads and will have few to no choices but, can I convince her of that, no. So an hour down the road, HANGRY spouse is now not loving the motorcycle life. Will we learn and adapt; hell no.
Bob, since I got my 2023 Harley Tri Glide I have caught myself waking up out of a sound sleep in the middle of the night just to go out the garage to admire it. Am I normal/
I do not, sir, I am using Apple CarPlay. I just have not found anybody that has it or has done a review on it so I can get an opinion on where the other. Are you thinking about getting one?
I know there’s a new device that you can plug-in that solves for about 100 bucks, I may look into that. I don’t know where I could plug this device in though.
I’m calling shenanigans. That’s NOT Bodean 52. Bodean 53 or 4 maybe. This guys voice is close but not the real thing like the difference between a street glide or road glide.

Great point and can't wait to see the results of the photo shoot

Happy trails, Cowpoke

I like white Harleys. Almost bought a mid 80 fxrp.
Never thought I would buy a white bike or a blacked out bike and I got one with both 🤷♂️

I am so dumb sometimes :), appreciate your support!
Riding all backroads is absolutely the best! But there are some things you need to remember to bring due to lack of services!!😂

@BoDean 52 Question. I see you have a mustang seat now. Are you doing a video on it in the future? If not, which model number is it?
I filmed one today and it comes out Wednesday at 5PM eastern, I love it. Let me know if you have any questions?

Great video bud.
I personally ran the trickle charger plug into my saddle bag and made an adapter for a power port. So that I can charge a few things at once
Appreciate that and good idea!
So, how did the new 2024's gas mileage compare to the 2021's mileage?
Seemed close, can't recall the 2021 exactly but got 46.5 on this 1100 mile trip, I will take it!

For your next a helmet buy one with an internal sun vision and the sun glasses issue and having to change visors in certain conditions goes away.
Actually, a very good idea. Thank you.

not sure what that is but no it was a industry event. Actually convinced I caught it on the plane coming home but who knows
