- There are *hundreds, if not thousands* of LEGO sets made over the past 70+ years that I've *not* reviewed. There's nothing special about this one in that regard. - LEGO *Technic figures* can be placed in a vehicle like this, but they're significantly undersized relative to realistic scale. - For *UCS Millennium Falcon* related inquiries, see www.jangbricks.com/2017/09/the-best-thing-that-could-have-happened.html
Repect you for the choice on the Falcon, man...for that money you could get a good batch of Lego Dimensions sets *and* the console to play them on. Yeesh, and I thought the $400 SSD was silly..
Speaking on sets that have yet to be review, I'm really curious about whether you'll be interested in exploring those amazing Model Team sets from the 1990s (especially 5571, 5580 and 5590) as they were the forerunners to modern vehicle-based Creator sets.
My mom had this in a box in pieces for way too long. Rebuilt it recently and gotta say it's still great! Definitely brought back some memories. Still in great condition.
I really like this set and it was one of the first large creator sets I bought in my collection. It was certainly a great looking set back in it's day but I feel like it's not quite as striking as it used to be compared to newer offerings that Lego has come out with. It doesn't look quite as sharp as the new Beetle and the Caterham that have recently come out. It's amazing how much Lego's designs and elements have progressed in five years.
This is a wonderful presentation. Well shot, narrated and....spinning table. 👍 I'm about halfway finished with this piece. Happens to be my dream vehicle since 1969.
I`m born in 1979 and really LOVE this vehicle. When I first saw this launch from Lego I actually got tears in my eyes ;) What a great set! That`s why I have 6 copies.
This is one of my all time favs. I’m also a car enthusiast so having licensed Lego vehicles is just plain enjoyably. Overall to m, this set is more than worth it!
Not sure, but the 2008 Death Star has to be pretty close, as it had an almost 8 year shelf life and was only discontinued when they wanted to release a new version.
My friend broke his copy of this set. Offered to rebuild it for him. About 3/4 of the way done, was doing homework, knocked it, fell, destroyed. Haven't touched it since. Gonna rebuild it soon though, just in a box now
Great to have you back Jang, hope you're fully recovered! Have been close to buying this set on several occasions, but never did. Love the interior details, but the exterior, especially the front, just doesn't look that good to me. If I come across it at the right price I may buy it, and seeing it in real life might end up changing my mind about its looks, as has happened before with Lego sets. Either way, thank you for your thorough review.
This is insane! I've had the box sitting on my shelf since 2011 and just today I decided to build it. I just finished, logged onto RUclips and what do I see? Crazy coincidence! Keep up the good work Jang! Love your stuff, both here and on the Playmobil channel!
Nice review! My return to Lego happened after The Lego Movie came out and it started with this set and some architecture sets. I have some great memories of building this set over a weekend after being away from Lego for so long.
This is probably the best LEGO set ever made in my opinion, or at least in the top 3 along with Skull's Eye Schooner and An Unexpected Gathering. It was pretty fun to build and has a lot of display value.
Always love your reviews Jang. Now I'm going to have to pick this up! Any chance you can review the Technic Arcos Truck? I know there are other reviews on here but I'd like your take on it.
Jang, you should mention whether a build has numbered bags or not. This build was much more difficult and painful than the Ninjago City. What is your strategy for building when there's no numbered bags and no phases to the build? The Ninjago City came in numbered bags and in 3 different books, it was very well organized. This Camper Van was ridiculous. Why does Lego sell sets this way?
auchan42 this set is a Lego expert so it doesn’t come with numbered bags to make it more difficult but when I was building mine I arranged all the bricks by size and colour
My favourite vehicle! Really liking the set and attention to detail! Rock n roll bed, kitchen, folding table..wow! The only thin I don't like is the front pixelated lines you mention...also, the side panels look like a wide body kit...?! Do you think they needed to do that?
jang, i thought you did this one before, that's why i purchased two of these sets based on your review.... You must have forgot about it as you have built so many sets =)
front section of the roof isn’t supposed to come off, the manuals and box art don’t show that function “officially”, but it would have been nice if a couple tiles were placed there.
JANGBRiCKS Yeah I know but this one fits the kind of sets you usually review. You also did the VW Beetle and Ferrari F40 which are in the same theme. Yet somehow it seems you've missed it
Hey I know you talked about it in your last video, but I haven't seen any time-lapse videos of your MOC building. is there any specific reason for that? or is it just 'there is no planning' ?
Nice review, aren't technic figures the right size? Also could you please swap the tires for the one in the London Bus just for one picture on your instagram account?
Don't see a better way to do it with existing pieces, but I'm surprised Jang didn't even mention it. Almost every review of this set I've seen does. It's a great model, but that does stand out as one of its flaws.
I got this set a couple months after t first came out and even with it just being displayed, it's fallen apart. I guess just from an occasional bump but it just hasn't stayed together.
10:49 The back picture of the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van. It has a lot of features and pop up roof and very nice red colour. Lego T-shirt saying Make Lego models not war.

Excellent choice Jang, that's $800 of prime city material you just saved right there :P

This VW camper is very well done, lots of interior details, really nothing more you can say about it, it's quite incredible!
My mom had this in a box in pieces for way too long. Rebuilt it recently and gotta say it's still great! Definitely brought back some memories. Still in great condition.
I've always been on the fence about buying this.. Just bought it now :) Thanks for the comprehensive review!

I love this set! Two of my hobbies combined in one: classic Volkswagens and LEGO.. :)
I feel like jang is a lowkey genius
This is a wonderful presentation. Well shot, narrated and....spinning table. 👍 I'm about halfway finished with this piece. Happens to be my dream vehicle since 1969.
I`m born in 1979 and really LOVE this vehicle. When I first saw this launch from Lego I actually got tears in my eyes ;) What a great set! That`s why I have 6 copies.
whoah really? I only had 1 and it fell off my windowsill and broke
This is one of my all time favs. I’m also a car enthusiast so having licensed Lego vehicles is just plain enjoyably. Overall to m, this set is more than worth it!
Sorry on the misspelling
I got this set for my birthday for my 11th birthday 3 years ago and it’s still one of my favorite sets
Didn't realize that was originally from 2011. I just bought it this year. What LEGO set(s) have been produced (sold as new), the longest?
slave 1, dunno when it came out but lego keeps selling it
The grey plate
Not sure, but the 2008 Death Star has to be pretty close, as it had an almost 8 year shelf life and was only discontinued when they wanted to release a new version.
I remember getting this when it first came out. I was 8 and it was hell to build something like this at the age of 8!
Michael Hummel am 8 years old
I bought this for my dad a few years ago, whe it came out, it’s one of the most eye-pleasing builds ever
My friend broke his copy of this set. Offered to rebuild it for him. About 3/4 of the way done, was doing homework, knocked it, fell, destroyed. Haven't touched it since. Gonna rebuild it soon though, just in a box now

This set was my first LEGO Large Vehicle model. It was a fun build and it is still built and on my shelf!
This is insane! I've had the box sitting on my shelf since 2011 and just today I decided to build it. I just finished, logged onto RUclips and what do I see? Crazy coincidence! Keep up the good work Jang! Love your stuff, both here and on the Playmobil channel!
Peter Muijsenberg. Who just lets sets sit there if they're not going to sell them unopened?
Old Technic figures and Belville figures fit rather well in this, although they are technically too small when standing beside it.
I have this set and those open ares in the floor bug me so much. If Lego added just 200 more bricks, the holes could've been filled up!
This looks a great vehicle and is something I would like to get, though deciding between this and the beetle
I wish Lego would make an Expert GT40...
As soon as he took of the roof I had a flash back. For those of my vintage, it reminded me of the Tonka Winnebago Camper. Remember that?
Nice review! My return to Lego happened after The Lego Movie came out and it started with this set and some architecture sets. I have some great memories of building this set over a weekend after being away from Lego for so long.
I love background music in this video :)
The old tall LEGO technic guys fit in this quite well. The one I have has 2 guys sitting in the front.
I just ordered mine and I can’t wait
Edit: mine just got here and it looks sooo good
the T1 is my fav set. i luv it
Good to see your back!
Really enjoyed this review
This is probably the best LEGO set ever made in my opinion, or at least in the top 3 along with Skull's Eye Schooner and An Unexpected Gathering. It was pretty fun to build and has a lot of display value.
Lucio
Ucs falcon? Any other ucs?
I'm customizing mine. The tires from 10252 will make it look more realistic!
i really like the engine thing looks legit i hope they apply the same thing in future sets
Always love your reviews Jang. Now I'm going to have to pick this up! Any chance you can review the Technic Arcos Truck? I know there are other reviews on here but I'd like your take on it.
He tends not to review Technic often.
The table has no tiles, so you can fix things there (like the wine glass)
The pop top size is accurate for split window westfalias.
Hey jang, another great video as usual. Was wondering what your take was on legos 2017 fiscal year and why theyve taken a dip in sales figures.
Jang, you should mention whether a build has numbered bags or not. This build was much more difficult and painful than the Ninjago City. What is your strategy for building when there's no numbered bags and no phases to the build? The Ninjago City came in numbered bags and in 3 different books, it was very well organized. auchan42 this set is a Lego expert so it doesn’t come with numbered bags to make it more difficult but when I was building mine I arranged all the bricks by size and colour
Also I would recommend getting a toolbox with compartments, I used a stanly one they’re quite cheap
Do you recall those old technic figures from the 1980s? I suspect those would be a perfect fit.
Definitely one of the coolest sets I own. Nice review.
This video was worth the wait
:-D :-D :-D
For real?
Like the whole six and a half years?
:-D
I didn't know that VW campers had front-open windshields, that's pretty cool.
Some did.
thank you for the subtitles :)
My favourite vehicle! Really liking the set and attention to detail! Rock n roll bed, kitchen, folding table..wow! The only thin I don't like is the front pixelated lines you mention...also, the side panels look like a wide body kit...?! Do you think they needed to do that?
It has been one year since Jang made his first skyscraper
Maybe the Lego technic figures or the very first from the early seventies might be the right scale.
jang, i thought you did this one before, that's why i purchased two of these sets based on your review.... You must have forgot about it as you have built so many sets =)
I certainly have never reviewed or owned this set in the past. I would know :) You must have me confused for another JANGBRiCKS out there.
liulin04 he reviewd the smal one not this one
front section of the roof isn’t supposed to come off, the manuals and box art don’t show that function “officially”, but it would have been nice if a couple tiles were placed there.
You can do the quick modification yourself. I just put a couple plates under there.
This was my first "expert" Lego set :D
My first was the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle. What got me back into Lego after a "dark period" that basically ran from 2000 to 2016.
We need a blue version of this for Mumbo.
Lego Doctor
Lol yeah
Lego Doctor dude, dude, dude.... exactly what i was thinking
...Can you add wings and jet engines to it to make it into Pearl Forrester's van from MST3K?
Go for it!
I might be losing my mind here but hasnt he already reviewed this
I think, just think, that he already did it in the past when it was new, but ain't sure at all.
Is this in scale with those old big technic figs?
I think it's the same scale of UCS Snowspeeder.
Yes Jang I've been waiting ages for this! Any chance you've heard of the 23 window bus? Because my dad has one!
I was wondering why you haven’t reviewed this one yet. Why did it take you so long?
+ggj1987 There are hundreds if not thousands of set's I've not reviewed.
JANGBRiCKS Yeah I know but this one fits the kind of sets you usually review. You also did the VW Beetle and Ferrari F40 which are in the same theme. Yet somehow it seems you've missed it
That is a nice set.😍😍
I actually have this. Really cool!
Would an old technic figure fit well in there??
Ben Gatz Yes :) I have two zitting in mine.
Bout' to say that.
I have this its a nice build.
Hey Jang! great video. Are you going to review the new Millennium falcon?
THAT IS SO AWESOME!!!
Hey I know you talked about it in your last video, but I haven't seen any time-lapse videos of your MOC building. is there any specific reason for that? or is it just 'there is no planning' ?
That's so cool I just built this two days ago
For me it is still one of the best Lego car models.
*LEGO* should have used a silver part for the *VW* logo and then painted it white and maybe black for shadows.
Now if only they could make a Lego Edsel Corsair for my car 😂
Nice review, aren't technic figures the right size? Also could you please swap the tires for the one in the London Bus just for one picture on your instagram account?
You should build a volcano out of those volcanos you got in the lego volcano explorers sets
I feel that the homemaker "figures" would be the right size for this
Nice, Howd you still get this? My cousin has it and i picked it up and it fell apart, it was pretty bad, but I rebuilt it
Games and Memes! Bricklink has those, old and new
I wonder how well this would scale with the old Technic figures.
You could use this set with a flashlight figure
What the heck is this? Throwback Thursday? You, Jang, have already reviewed this one a long time ago when it was new, right? Or am I mistaken?
Not much of a "throwback"; it was initially released in 2011 and some stores are still selling it (though Lego is retiring the set this year).
You sound like batman sometimes
8:47 It's Groot in 60s' Milano!
OH NOSTALGIA.
I brought this set
Wouldn't Lego Friends figures be closer to scale with this? Just a thought.
Thats what i can afford a 80 dollar lego instead of a 40,000 dollar camper
I have this set.
Dear Jang, the small lever to the right of the steering wheel is the hand or parking break lever.
The overall cosiness of the set is great
But again the prise, well the prise is decent but it don't fit in with me
The A pillar 5:45
Don't see a better way to do it with existing pieces, but I'm surprised Jang didn't even mention it. Almost every review of this set I've seen does. It's a great model, but that does stand out as one of its flaws.
8:47 it's Groot!
My brother has this. He customized it a little
Nice
My dad bought one for himself😂
i dont blame him
COOL
The next thing they need to make is a Trabant 601
:-D
Yeah, and then Wartburg.
:-D
It is a splity witch is a typ 2
You are the best
i'm getting one
Sad to hear the news about the falcon, your reviews are the best.
I got this set a couple months after t first came out and even with it just being displayed, it's fallen apart. I guess just from an occasional bump but it just hasn't stayed together.
Am I the only one who remembers hangs other review of this?
1334 Pieses for 120$ is a good deal
I have this, the mini and the f40
10:49 The back picture of the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van. It has a lot of features and pop up roof and very nice red colour. Lego T-shirt saying Make Lego models not war.
Hayden Fyfe Yeah thanks for telling is what we can already see
hey jang what took you so long to review this set
UPS is no longer as fast as it used to be.
