Still remember buying my first Namlook back in 1993 and being astounded by the soundscapes he could produce. My obsession started then, and still continues to this day. He may be gone, but his music will last forever.
OH MAN, RIP‼️ I didn’t know he passed. I LOVE his work. This is the first time I hear him speak or knew what he looked like. He truly took electronic music in a new direction. FAX was incredible!! I just listened to Master of the sky the other day. What a great song. Godspeed Pete Namlook.
His work defined the early 90's for me. I'm a sucker for any music that breaks the rules, and takes the listener to new places. There was a lot of good electronica around back then, but Namlook produced some of the most mesmorizing IMO.
My favourite musician.first got to hear about him in 1994 .read a review in mixmag for Air2 .Took me ages to track a copy down.i now own over 50 Pete Namlook CDs.Whish I'd seen him live.im from UK.Great to see his sports car of choice is a British Triumph.
Thank you Peter. Your music continues to touch people well beyond your own time on this earth. Bless your heart. Thanks for the wonderful interview, this really helped me understand more about this legendary artist.
I remember paying £25 for his CDs in Fat Cat records seven dials in the early 90s. I bought Dreamfish and was hooked. Also had a fax label sweatshirt bought from Fat Cat. Crazy shop, they sold loads of underground electronic stuff like Black Dog productions, Aphex, B12 etc. Heady days.
This Gifted Man is gone but his Music still is alive and I hope forever. As a Fan,I'm happy to see and hear him, because I've been a lover of his thinking and Music all the way back sent the 90's
Erst heute zufällig erfahren... bin geschockt. RIP Pete Namlook und danke für das großartige Fax-Label... alles Gute der Familie, mein tiefstes Beileid.
This was very inspiring. It's interesting to see the dichotomy between Namlook and Eno. I fist discovered Namlook when I listened to his collaboration with Bill Laswell on Outland 3 - Keepers of the Purple Twilight. He will be missed.
I can relate to Namlook on the way he made music. He takes everything in and channels the best of those influences into his music without going for the populist philosophies of modern music. Great interview and a piece of electronic music making history!
Beautiful piece! An abrupt end to a very productive creative ... so many fun and mind opening experiences with the Fax releases... Thank you Pete and Family... Bis bald!!
Pete "transitioned" from the Earth sphere early for a human, but he certainly left the world in a much better place. His track: Sequential-The Prophet is one of my favorite tracks of all time. We haven't heard the last of the Soul that animated Pete Namlook. We will meet again........maybe on Earth....maybe somewhere else........but rest assured, the creative Soul of Pete Namlook lives on.......
Peter Namlook was using ambient music like a medium to change our inner vision, it is not merely electronic music, it is something like shamanism, druidism or Theosophie. He had a special connection with Nature and environment, stone, vegetals and universe. I think he is in the german tradition or scandinavian tradition in deep connection with forest and land. something to do with spirit, metaphysic, extatic visions, deep feelings and without coke, all for free. Thank you very much for your opera, you are immortal.
Currently looping your ulitmately gorgeous "When Angels Sleep" and need to hold myself back to not break into tears. Man you are so missed. ruclips.net/video/35WWW2oARo0/видео.html
Pete Namlook. Musician, gardener, chef, observer, guide, philosopher.
. . . you forgot WIZARD - a magician of ambient space sounds . . .
A Legend.
One of the most brilliant and most inventive electronic composers/musicians ever. RIP.

Respect, always. You're in our memories. In many ways and releases.
Thanks for giving us so much Peter, hope you're touring the universe right now.
Thank you Peter. Your music continues to touch people well beyond your own time on this earth. Bless your heart.

Does anyone know what's the title of the track that begins around 16:13 (with the solo lead at about 16:34)?

what is the track at 16:33?
Air - Jeux Dangereux
Major loss to the electronic music family.
(and still do)
💜☮️🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊☮️💜
So his 4Voice alias is based on a synth he considers "important", Oberheim Four Voice.
RIP.
Many of his releases and/or projects namechecks or hints to differents synths
What's the name of the track that starts this? 0:12

Ja Ja Ja Ja Ja ....
With all respect to a great musician IMO he talks a load of crap in this video, especially his thoughts about ambient music.
RIP
