    *Great for a family of 2 or 3. It cooks quinoa, white, jasmine **MyBest.Kitchen** and brown rice really well. Easy to clean and store because of the size. We haven't used the steamer part of it yet.*

    I have one too, and love it. Once the rice is done, I like to put it on a plate, served with mixed steamed vegetables in "veri teriyaki sauce", along with some stir fried chicken breast. Throw in some scrambled eggs, bamboo shoots and mushrooms for added flavor. A light drizzle of soy, teriyaki sauce as well.

    We have never used a rice cooker but did buy a rice cooker to make sticky rice, been trying to figure out how it works 😁thanks for sharing

    From what I've watched on RUclips, wash your rice first until the water runs clear. That way the rice doesn't stick together and not as much starch.

      Never knew that. I never have any issues with mine sticking, but thank you for sharing!

    I have a living solutions rice cooker it's looks just like that one. I got it on sale at Walgreens for 10.00 now I have a question. Does the little round spring thing in the middle of the coil go down when you cooking. I never had a rice cooker so I need to know lol

    i need a rice cooker in my life! hahaha
    i too have never had one. i LOVE this! I iwll probably need a larger one, since I feed a small army here, but I really love this!
    My husband laughs at me! He says, you can make and bake all this incredible food and preserve food and yet you cant make rice? HAHAHA nope! Like you said, it just never comes out exactly right. LOL We love rice here, I buy it in 25lb and 50lbs bags! it is a great homesteading pantry item to have on hand and stock up on. :D

      The Kneady Homesteader I can't believe you don't have a rice cooker! Now that I have one, I can't go back, I could never seem to get the rice fluffy & "just right" on the stovetop way. This thing is foolproof, & I like experimenting w/ different herbs & seasonings. Next on my "to research" list is a Kitchen Aid Mixer. I love the yellow one :)

    • @TheKneadyHomesteader
      @TheKneadyHomesteader 9 лет назад

      buttercup or majestic yellow? both are so pretty! if you plan on making bread, move up from the Artisan to the Pro line..... the motor takes a beating with bread dough. But you will LOVE having a stand mixer. I use mine literally 3-4 times a day, for everything!!!! homemade pizza here you come! :D

      The Kneady Homesteader Buttercup I think :) Girl I don't think I can make homemade bread, I can barely bake pre-made cookies!! Baking is just not my forte ;)

    • @TheKneadyHomesteader
      @TheKneadyHomesteader 9 лет назад

      it wasnt mine either. trust me! LOL i could barely bake those break and bakes without burning them! HAHAHAHA

    What can you make in a rice cooker besides rice?
    Also, can you steam veg and cook the rice at the same time?

    • @GradysMom
      @GradysMom  9 лет назад

      Alissa Younkin just rice in the bottom, and on top in the steam tray yes you can steam veggies and meat at the same time as the rice is going. However this one is small so if you're feeding a whole family you'd want a bigger rice cooker/steamer.

      +Alissa Younkin I use my rice cooker for making oatmeal. It does an awesome job and it comes out perfect every time!

      Seriously i can cook anything in this thing and i do there's nothing you can't cook with this thing. If you tape the button down it wont cut off n i made a pot of beans one day they were the bag dry bean n this thing did in 4 hours what my stovetop took all day to do. Can't stress this enough every single person out there should have 1!!!

    Hi. I have this exact cooker and my rice seems to scorch on the bottom and at times the starch bubbles over. I do rinse the rice a couple times first. Are you having either issue? What rice to water ratio do you use and do you keep it on the warm setting after rice is done or just unplug it?
    Thanks

    • @GradysMom
      @GradysMom  9 лет назад

      Hi des570 I spray the inside with cooking spray before I add my rice. I don't rinse it water first. I normally use 2 cups rice to 2 cups liquid. I recently did a rice cooker recipe video, so if that would help you see what I do check it out :)

    hi, did your rice cooker smoke the first time you used it? I dunno if I should let it stay on or return it. is there a film maybe? or is it a fire hazard?

    • @GradysMom
      @GradysMom  8 лет назад

      +CeariPhieone mine never smokes. Unless you're meaning steam? If it's smoke then return it, you might have gotten a faulty one.
